Using The Dark Entralment Amulet

'This kid, to think he'll smile despite this situation,' Momo thought in amazement as he watched Nyx's smiling face. Once again, he realized he hadn't made the wrong choice.

And that was why he'd get this kid out no matter what.

Momo returned his gaze to the vice principal.

"Miss Vice Principal, if you don't mind, can you please spare his life for three days to let me do an investigation? I'm led to believe that Mr. Isaac is not telling us everything that happened here."

"Why three days? This kid murdered a superhuman; we should send him to the lost lands or kill him this instant!" Isaac suggested strongly. Now that he got what he wanted, he didn't want to delay any more time. All he wanted was to eliminate this threat once and for all.

In the end, the final judgment rested on the vice principal.

"I'll do that," Camila's cold voice permeated the air. "But you do know that there is no way to escape this since your protégé killed a superhuman while being a dud?"

"I understand the rules more than anyone else, miss. Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

"Very well then," the vice principal said and walked out of the room. Miss Emerald and Isaac followed behind, leaving only Momo and Nyx alone.

"You're one hell of a troublesome kid, you know? We haven't even started our training yet, and you get yourself into trouble already," Momo chuckled, not minding the fact that Nyx's life was in danger.

This gave the red-haired boy a big confidence boost. After killing Marcus back there, the first thing that came to Nyx's mind was using Momo as a shield to escape this predicament.

"Can you get me out within one day?" Nyx asked; there was the Quest he needed to complete. The thought of failing didn't even cross his mind. He knew that for the system to reward him, this meant it could also punish him.

And knowing the nature of this Villainous System, the punishment would definitely be severe.

Him being locked up here was already making it difficult for him to complete the quest.

"Unfortunately not, you'll have to stay here for a minimum of two days, after which I guarantee that you'll be free." After saying this, Momo started to leave.

But before he left, he said, "Don't get into any trouble again this night."

When Momo's back finally disappeared, Nyx idly thought to himself, "What is happening this night?" Momo just casually said that, but Nyx's experienced brain already knew it was a hint. There was no way Momo knew about the massacre he would commit, so that meant there was something else.

And Momo was indirectly telling him to get involved with that thing.

But what was it?

Not associating much with the other students in class caused Nyx to lose out on much information. Maybe all the other students knew about what would happen tonight except Nyx.

What he didn't know was that it was only a select few that knew that there was an event tonight.

Nyx stared at the bulky guard watching him like a hawk and clenched his fist.

'I must get out of this place,' he thought as he rested his back on the prison wall, eyeing the guard who was munching on a snack and drinking coke. He checked the remaining time and saw that night would soon arrive.

"What to do?" Nyx pondered, then his eyes shone with realization when he remembered that he still had the super item that was rewarded to him for making Apollo his pawn.

'How on earth did I forget this?' When the guard was looking away, with a thought, Nyx willed the super item to appear in his hands.

A brilliant blue light later, the amulet appeared in Nyx's grasp.

Super Item: [ Dark Entralment Amulet (D-rank) ]

Description: [ Allows you to exert control over the minds of targeted individuals, compelling them to obey his commands without question. Note: Individuals with strong willpower or psychic defenses may resist the amulet's influence ]

Cooldown: [ 2 hours, would be longer if the target is not strong-willed ]

After reading through the description, Nyx was again left amazed at what the VES was capable of. Super items were very rare and expensive, but he was being rewarded casually just by completing quests?

Just like any abilities and talents, super items also had an official ranking starting all the way from E to S. An E-ranked super item cost over 500,000 dollars, then a D-ranked item was 1 million dollars plus, and the price just kept going up from there.

Although it was rare to come by, rumors had it that from A-ranked upward, super items cost over a billion dollars.

One might ask the reason for the cost? Well, the reason was because of the item's versatility in battle. Super items were a huge boon during battles. Armed with the right items, even a Tier 2 Superhuman could battle against a Tier 1 Superhuman and come out on top. Even in the past, this was one of the reasons Nightmare had lived long to terrorize the World.

When Nyx was growing up, he'd often wondered who made such overpowered items. It was after he became Nightmare and he finally discovered that these super items were produced thanks to resources found in the Nexus, a realm known to the elite of humanity.

One of Nyx's goals was to go to that world filled with unimaginable treasures.

Coming back to the treasure in his hands, the red-haired boy held it tightly and looked at the guard with a devious look in his eyes. He was already formulating a plan to escape this place, and this guard would be instrumental to his escape.

Later that day, Daniel, the guard left in charge to be in charge of Nyx and other prisoners who had committed a crime, was patrolling around the dimly lit cell, flashlight in hand.

Nyx, who was lying in his cell, suddenly opened his eyes when he caught the beams of Daniel's flashlight.

"It's time," he muttered and walked up to the bars of the cell. Clenching his fist, Nyx started to strike the cold metal bars until blood started to drop from his knuckles.

The echoing sounds reached the ear of Daniel, who quickly rushed towards the cell the red-haired boy was imprisoned in.

"What the hell is going on in here?" Daniel muttered as he unlocked the door with a sense of unease. As he entered, he could see the red-haired boy hunched over in pain.

"Officer, please help me. I don't know what happened," Nyx gasped with his bloodied hands held to his side.

Being a dud too, Daniel was naturally concerned, and it would be difficult for him to explain to the vice principal how one of her students died, so he approached to assess the situation.

However, that was the biggest mistake he ever did because with swift, calculated movement, Nyx sprung to his feet and delivered a powerful blow to the guard's jaw. Daniel fell to the ground and instantly lost consciousness.

After making sure that Daniel was knocked out, Nyx brought the amulet out and wore it around Daniel's neck.

"This is going to be a long night," he displayed a not too friendly smile.
