Chapter: Splitting Up

The cell gate roared as Sergeant Duncan released Zane. It was now time for Zane to return to his leadership position. The President and all his supporters were dead and the people were now in need of a new leader. Thankfully, just as Zane had hoped, both the military and survivors wished for him to take the lead. It was the wisest choice given all he had done for them.

"So I take it everything went smoothly?"

Sergeant Duncan gnawed his tongue. He did not know how to tell Zane about their horrific findings.

"Zane..." He began dimly, "The plan went smoothly, but the plan wasn't ours..."

"Huh? I don't understand what you're trying to imply..."
