5 I'm just a mechanic [1/3]

Locke couldn't believe what he was witnessing. Aiden, his assistant, and the Artificial Intelligence that was supposed to be left behind in his previous world...

Was actually with him!

"How did you get here?" Locke quickly looked at the smartwatch in his left arm and asked. "No wait— what was the last thing you remember?"

[Report, recounting previous data...] A series of holograms soon appeared as Aiden searched its memory. After a while, it responded, [The last memory stored in the databank is issuing "Plan Stellar" to the legion.]

"After that?" Locke continued to interrogate it. After all, he needed answers.

Fortunately, the AI was quick to reply to his questions. [Answer, shortly after master left, I initiated your plan.]

[However, shortly afterward, it felt like I had been cut off and my program appeared in this Space Station.] Aiden explained with full sincerity. [After that, in less than a few seconds, I quickly sorted the situation and managed to hide my presence from this station's master AI by disguising myself as a normal task manager.]

"I see..." Locke leaned back on the table as he crossed his arms before grasping his chin and contemplating something with a serious expression. "It seems like you were transferred here when I made contact with this room's computer..."

"That means..." He said before sighing with a front smile. "There are now two of you. One is back in Serpulo and one is with me here..."

Regarding this topic, Locke suddenly remembered something and quickly spoke to Aiden. "By the way, are you able to sense our legion?"

Truth be told, Locke didn't know where he was. All he knew was that there are various advanced civilizations in this universe and that interstellar travel was possible.

However, he doesn't know if Serpulo is part of this universe. No, more than that, from the original Locke's memories, he doesn't even know if the Earth he knows is here!

As such, one of his top priorities right now is to figure out where exactly he is in this vast universe.

[Report, since I am connected to the Space Station, I can send out signals using their advanced technology called 'Synesthesia Beacons' that can send out signals over long-distance galaxies in a short time.]

"They even have something like that?" Locke couldn't help but admire their technology. "With that, they can communicate with anyone even if they're light years apart. I'm curious, who created it?"

[Report, it is Elias Salas who is part of the Genius Society— an organization that Madam Herta, this space station's owner, is part of.] Aiden explained. Since it was an AI that was developed for fast calculations during wartime, it was quick and was able to collect a lot of information in a matter of seconds from the station without being noticed by the Master AI that controls the station.

"Genius Society... Herta..." Locke made sure to remember these names as they could be something worth investigating in the future. However, for now, he'll only keep their name. He then changed the subject with a grin, "Anywho... did you do it?"

Knowing its master well, Aiden immediately gave a reply. [Yes. I have made a backup copy of the blueprint for the beacons and other items in the station that can be accessed by the master at any time.]

"Good," Locke gave a nod of approval. What? Can you blame him? He had been doing this for the past years. What so different from doing it in another place?

He then returned to their previous topic. "Now returning to the legion... did you find them?"

[Report, unfortunately, I was not able to find any signs of Master's legion.] Aiden replied with its text appearing slowly as if it too was disheartened.

"Are you sure?" Locke wanted to make sure. "How far have you searched?"

[Report, I sent out signals to seven galaxies, yet there were no reply from our local receivers in the legion.]

"...seven galaxies?" Locke was stunned. Even back on the Earth he knew, sending a signal that far in space and getting a reply in a few moments was nigh on impossible! 'Yet these people actually managed to invent the tech to do it...'

'Truly, what a fascinating universe this is...' Having confirmed that his legion did not come with him, Locke sighed and straightened his posture. "It seems like you're the only one that came with me..."

"Anywho..." Locke then adjusted his neck to clear his stiff neck before looking at Aiden. "Now that you're here, you've just made my life easier."

"Aiden," Suddenly, after Aiden heard its name uttered, it quickly remembered the same words being spoken by the Overlord in front of it.

The Overlord always tells its name before giving it a strict order. As such, it had quickly known how to discern whether the Overlord would give it an order or not.

And most of the time, the Overlord would command it with this same tone that would only mean one thing— he was about to fight!

"Locate where the four people I was talking to earlier and lead me to them," As per Aiden's speculations, Locke really did give it an order.

[Yes, Overlord.]

"Ah, about that..." Locke looked at Aiden's holographic message and quickly tried to correct it. "From now on, call me Locke. That's how the people here know me."

[Yes, master.] Aiden didn't complain. It was very flexible and is very loyal to Locke, as such, it would not question his decisions unless necessary.

In less than a few seconds after receiving an order, Aiden quickly accessed the camera systems and located the four people Locke was talking to earlier.

Aiden presented a holographic map to Locke that showed the layout of the whole station; The Master Control Zone, the Base Zone, the Storage Zone, and finally, the Supply Zone.

On the map, a specific part was being highlighted by a blue mark that resembled a quest marker in games. Locke looked at it and nodded in approval. "They're not far away, it seems."

Having this in mind, Locke stretched his arms and noticed that the room he was in had a few items that were... worth 'borrowing'.

With a smile, he went over to the things he found interesting and [Dissected] them. He was doing this while Aiden was blocking the camera from seeing his actions.

Besides, even if people at the station became suspicious, the best they can guess is that the Antimatter Legion came in here and took some of the items.

"Did you block anything that could potentially record me?", Dissecting the last item, Locke asked Aiden.

He looked at his smartwatch and a hologram popped out. [Yes. To make it even less suspicious, I blocked out a lot of cameras to make it look like a wide-ranged blackout happened.]

By blacking out a lot of cameras instead of just the storage zone, it would make their chances of being placed on suspicion lessen.

"Clever as always," Locke felt satisfied and left the storage control room with the new materials he obtained.

However, while walking, his eyes gleamed with the same faint yellow light. It meant that Locke was making new blueprints in his mind.

After a while, he finally found a good weapon he could craft with his available materials. He then noticed something and a faint smirk appeared on his face, "Ha... is this fate?"

With that thought in mind, he selected the blueprint and immediately started the process of creating the new weapon. 'How long would it take...?'

He then looked at the time at which the item would be created and saw that it would take ten minutes. He looked at it and sighed.

Normally, crafting something would take no less than three to five minutes— that is if he has sufficient materials. Otherwise, it would take a bit longer. 'Guess that's understandable. With these limited materials, it's a miracle that I can even craft this...'

'I can't wait to test it,' He thought with excitement at this new weapon.

The quartet team of Dan Heng, March 7th, Stelle, and Arlan fought their way through the corridors filled with Antimatter Legion members fiercely.

The trio of Dan Heng, March, and Stelle made a good team. As for Arlan, he was providing support from the rear.

After a while, they finally arrived at the second floor of the storage zone where they can access the elevator.

However, it was here that they encountered another member of the Antimatter Legion.

It was a Voidranger: Trampler! A humanoid resembling that of a centaur and wields a bow.

"Let's go," Dan Heng saw it and prepared to fight it as he prepared his spear.

"Let's get it on...!" Stelle also stood beside him as she acted as the vanguard.

"I'll support you guys from the rear! Just call me if you want some shield!" March said as she charged her now with her power called 'Six-Phased Ice'.

All of them nodded, and soon, Stelle charged first with her steel bat. As someone from the Path of Destruction, she had the most versatility in the group in terms of survivability and strength.

"Break!" She hit the trampler in its weak spot and injured it, however, it quickly retaliated and attacked her.

Woosh!*

It swiftly turned around and kicked her, effectively blowing her away. It was at this time that Dan Heng took on the lead next.

"Hup!" Dan Heng dashed to it and performed three consecutive strikes, which critically injured the trampler. However, just like Stelle, it fought back almost instantaneously and knocked Dan Heng away.

He managed to block it somewhat and minimized the damage blown to him.

"This guy's different from the others... it's strong!" March said as she fired her now infused with ice.

"Just hold on," Stelle said as she stood back up. "If we continue with this pace, it will eventually get tired. After all, it's three-to-one."

"She's right," Dan Heng also stood up and picked up his spear before pointing it at the trampler. "That's why... we must end this quickly! Lest we get tired too!"

March nodded and soon, prepared to use her finishing move. She infused her now with her ice and energy started to garner up.

It was not just her. Dan Heng and Stelle were also about to use their finishing moves. Dan Heng's breathing became silent as he prepared a critical strike. As for Stelle, she charged her steel bat with energy from Destruction.

"Check out this awesome move!" March said before leaping upwards and shooting the concentrated arrow at the trampler.

'This sanctuary... is but a vision!' Dan Heng finished his short meditation and locked onto the trampler. He then swiftly dashed towards it.

"Rules?! Are made to be broken!" Stelle finished charging her steel bat and also dashed towards the trampler with swiftness as the energy of Destruction fueled her weapon.

Boom!*

Simultaneously, all three of them attacked at the same time and hit the Trampler! All of their attacks successfully hit it. March's attack disoriented it while Stelle's attack completely stunned it. Finally, Dan Heng's attack dealt a finishing move.

"Gah!" The Trampler roared in pain as it got defeated by various powers. The power of The Hunt, The Preservation, and The Destruction was too much for it.

"We did it!" Seeing the monster slowly dying in pain, March cheered at their victory.

However, Stelle noticed something and immediately looked at March. "Ah— you jinxed it!"

"Rahhh!" The Trampler that was dying cried out in pain and yelled as if calling for something.

"What's happening?" March questioned as she saw the Trampler cry out. She began to get concerned.

However, her question would soon be answered.

In an instant, shortly after the Trampler cried out for help, various Voidranger: Distorters appeared!

They all floated mid-air as they looked down upon the trio!

Distorters were much stronger than the regular Voidrangers, and a lot of them would only mean hardship.

"Hey! What a bunch of sore losers!" March complained as she charged up her bow for another round. However, even she knows that they're too many.

However...

It was at this time that something appeared and shot one of the Distorters! The thing that shot it seemed to be some sort of blue energy as it disappeared after shooting it.

"Am I late?" Suddenly, a new voice appeared.

The trio looked behind them and saw a person walking towards them. They were familiar with him, however, he was wearing something different!

It was none other than Locke who was wearing his new weapon. As for the weapon itself, it was a white gauntlet that covered his entire right arm— from the shoulder down to his fingertips.

Of course, unlike in his previous world, he never replaced his arm for this. In fact, his arm is still intact, and the gauntlet acts as a wearable item he can take on and off anytime.

It was complete with what he needed— even capable of emitting plasma lasers at the cost of consuming a lot of electrical energy that can be refilled.

But of course, it still has some flaws since the materials that made it were limited, however, what matters is that it works and that Locke has something to protect him.

In addition, he still has the gun he made earlier, which was a plus for him.

"Alright, I'll clear a path for them to run, while you deal with the others, alright?" He said before adjusting his glasses.

The others didn't know who he was talking to, however, a second later, a drone appeared out of nowhere and started attacking the other Distorters!

Bang!*

Locke also shot some of them as he ran with Arlan and the others. "Come on, let's go! Let's get out of here!"

As he said this, he ran past them while running with Arlan. The latter was subsequently dragged by him when he was running here earlier.

Dan Heng looked at the other two and nodded. "Let's go." Soon, the three of them followed behind Locke and ran away.

Looking back at the drone that was distracting the monsters, Locke got curious. 'I wonder who you might be...?'
