11 Mystery of magic

Magic is of the soul. That was a fact. That was why Harry got the ability to speak parsle tongue after he became a horcrux . It was also why magical plants were so animated like the womping willow or mandrake. But what confused Richard was the existence of magical power in the bodies of all magical beings from birth, except wizards. Well almost all, Metamorpomagus and strong wizards alike had magic present in their bodies as well as half veela or other half breeds.

But that doesn't change the fact, that wizards were fundamentally different from all other magical beings. That was why Richard had bought the horn of Graphorn. To find the answer to the three questions he had. Why do magical beasts possess magical energy within their bodies? How can wizards do the same? And what would happen when a wizard store magic in their body?

And so, Richard had taken it upon himself to find the answers to these questions. And the results he obtained after he used structural Identification on his recently acquired magical beast horn gave all the answers he needed.

Humans tend to think too much, let their minds wander at all times. That's why they it's hard for them to focus on one single purpose for a long time. Magical beasts on the other hand are more simple. They mostly depend on their bodily instincts and genetically inherited memories to live their lives. And magic works based on intent.

Since the life of a magical beast was more focused on their physical body, their intent remains focused on it, making magic automatically gather in their bodies. This is the same for obscurus, an underage wizard who is forced to bottle up their magic and is exposed to deep emotional damage for a long period of time.

Since magic is controlled by intent, a human, specially a young wizard who is forced to constantly supress their magic out of fear or any other reason fuels their magic with that intent giving birth to the phenomenon of an obscurus.

Unfortunately, due to the corrosive nature of the magic, physical bodies collapse when they come to contact with an Obscurus.

Which gave Richard two parts to follow. Either focus on one single type of magic for the rest of his life, at every moment of his life, like a magical beast or, to follow the normal wizard ways. Ultimately, both the options were rejected by him because he remembered the existence of Metamorpomagus.

A physical body that can be controlled by the mind. Most likely the next evolution of human wizards, Richard concluded. Now all that was left, was for him to actually find one. And as luck would have it, there was one right inside Hogwarts, just a few grades above him.
