Anthony took the time to go next door and told Myrtle that the yellow eyes probably belonged to the basilisk. Myrtle was not very interested in this, but she was glad that someone came to see her.
"If you want to socialize, why not go outside more often?" suggests Anthony.
Myrtle said sadly, "No one wants to see me."
"Don't say that." Anthony said seriously, "Besides, you can go where you want. Hogwarts is not that dangerous." At least he couldn't think of any danger for a ghost.
"I can't go where I want to go," Myrtle said with a hint of melancholy, "I want to go outside the castle."
Only then did Anthony remember that Nick from Gryffindor had told him that ghosts could only move where they had lived.
"Outside the castle? Where?" he asked curiously.
"Quidditch pitch." Myrtle suddenly became happy and giggled, "I want to watch Harry Potter play Quidditch. The captain of Gryffindor brags about how good he can fly in the bathroom on the sixth floor every day. How nice, I want to see that genius seeker with glasses."
…
Anthony sternly told Myrtle that she should not sneak into the boys' bathroom, whether or not she showed up to scare people.
He didn't know if she listened... She looked patronizing and crying.
He never thought she could use the sewer pipe to get to the boys' bathroom. At first he even thought that Myrtle was confined to the girls' bathroom on the second floor, but later he discovered that she could actually move freely in the castle.
That time he couldn't sleep and wandered around the castle in his nightgown. He saw Myrtle slowly walking up the stairs, sobbing and sobbing as she walked. That's the staircase leading to Ravenclaw Tower.
"I don't want to live anymore!" she sobbed. "Olive Humbert... Peeves... everyone laughs at me and tortures me... I really don't want to live anymore!"
If the fat friar hadn't emerged from the wall and told her that Peeves had been driven away, she might actually have walked back to her former dormitory. When Myrtle realized she was dead, she let out a cry of frustration and flew back to the bathroom.
She hurried past Anthony, leaving the fat friar and him looking at each other.
…
Anthony sometimes wonders what the ghost's state is, and this curiosity intensifies after he gets the research topic of resurrection.
How do they view death? Can a ghost die a second time? What can they see as they walk through the wall? Will they sleep? Will memories of life fade over time?
All kinds of things. Anthony has a lot of rude questions, and he hasn't found a suitable interview subject yet.
Does becoming a ghost count as a kind of resurrection? They move through the world for almost eternity, like shadows of yesterday. Considering Professor Binns's age—well, how long he's been around—Anthony was pretty sure the ghost had a strong magical backing.
He had to take out the notebook again.
After no longer worrying about the basilisk in the castle, Anthony suddenly had more free time, so he spent some time studying the topic given to him by Dumbledore. Only then did he realize that he actually did not understand resurrection.
Just like there is no need to understand what the geomagnetic field is, migratory birds will spontaneously find their flight direction when the seasons change. He can also use it naturally (and inexplicably) when he knows nothing about undead magic.
But if you want to consider an ordinary wizard who wants to be resurrected, he will need some theoretical guidance and practical experience before he can start to think about how the other party will lift the curtain of death and return to the stage of the living.
Perhaps that's why Dumbledore gave him the subject...to remind him not to become obsessed with the practice, but not to shy away from necromancy entirely. See what it can do, and see what its cousin does. Just as Professor Flitwick told him, blind magic practice often ends in tragedy, and at the same time, blindly suppressing magic will only explode in the future.
Anthony wanted to believe that the headmaster wasn't in the habit of watching the bloodthirsty Muggle Studies professor with his meal.
He spent some time classifying this notebook, which was a mixture of diaries, random thoughts, experimental records, and research experiences, according to its content. He added his own questions and thoughts, supplemented by excerpts from other reference books, which filled three pages. There are folders containing skeletons, ghosts, corpses, life curses and other auxiliary magic, and he still hasn't sorted out half of them.
This notebook can no longer affect his emotions. As long as you know the possible consequences of undead magic, you can be prepared to deal with it.
Anthony now releases a "luminescent flash" from his wand at the end of his studies. As long as his wand was still pressed happily against his palm, and as long as the bright white light was still shining steadily on the tip of the wand, he was not out of control. Simple and easy, both he and his wand are happy.
…
He's been hanging around the dark magic bookshelf in the restricted area lately. The magic world has its own logic for classifying black and white magic: magic that makes living people die is black magic, and magic that makes dead people live is also black magic.
If someone really wanted to be resurrected, Anthony would probably advise him to either become a Dark Wizard who would be stalked by Ministry staff, or to find a priest in the Muggle world.
"Therefore we return this body to the earth, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, ashes to ashes. Resurrection to eternal life in the assurance and sure hope," Anthony murmured. (Note 1) Considering the cost, the Muggle method is really much simpler.
And to be honest, it's not much different from magic. Just have faith.
He looked at his parchment notes, which listed the methods he had thought of so far, including becoming a ghost, becoming a wraith, becoming a skeleton, becoming an inferi, finding a vampire to bite him, and so on.
It even included a plan to trick a centaur. Just coax the centaurs to tell them the star in the sky that corresponds to their death, and then use any method to change the position of the stars once they die - as long as they have the ability to change the star path, this person's fate must be important enough to hang in front of everyone every night on the forehead - thereby deviating from one's own destiny of death.
The only problem is that changing the position of the stars would presumably violate confidentiality laws. Thousands of Muggle astronomers are staring at this starry sky, and it is difficult for a star that moves erratically not to attract attention.
Therefore, as soon as the person in the title is resurrected, he will receive an owl from the Office for the Prohibition of Abuse of Magic. However, given that Anthony also assumed that he had tricked the centaurs, he should also have received a letter from the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
Anthony sighed. It would be better to let this person die in peace.
Note 1: From the Book of Common Prayer. We therefore commit this body to the ground, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust; in sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life.
