53 Chapter 53: The Battle (2)

At this moment, three different things were going on in this small room.

Harry, trembling, was standing behind the Mirror of Erised.

Furry was fighting a fierce battle with the fiery serpent, spewing flames from time to time, frightening Harry from allowing him to show himself.

And finally, there was the clash between Arthur and Voldemort. Spells flew between them, hitting and creating deep craters on the ground.

"Reducto"

Arthur quickly dodged a Cruciatus curse to the right and hit back with an explosive curse.

It had to be said that even though Arthur had only possessed Avalon's power for a day, he felt a powerful improvement in his reflexes and physical abilities.

Whenever faced with an incoming curse, he could easily dodge and counterattack.

If Arthur unleashed Avalon right now, he could resist Voldemort's curses and stop him. However, since he finally had a smart opponent, Arthur didn't want to cheat by crushing his opponent.

"Do you think you can defeat me, Arthur Gaunt?!"

Voldemort was also getting irritated.

'How could a first-year student go back and forth in a fight with him? How would he maintain his reputation as the Dark Lord?'

Then Voldemort used dark magic that Arthur had never seen before as he drained Professor Quirrell's body of its life force.

Countless vengeful souls appeared from behind him, transforming into Dementors and rushing at Arthur.

Although Arthur didn't know the exact effect of this magic, it looked incredibly evil.

"Expecto Patronum - Unicorn's Shadow!"

"Expecto Patronum - Phoenix!"

Arthur cast two straight Patronus charms, summoning a unicorn and a phoenix that charged recklessly, annihilating the Dementors without leaving a trace.

This was one of the rewards Arthur gained after signing a contract with Celestia. He discovered that his Patronus charm could summon two guardian spirits, and both the phoenix and the unicorn were magical creatures.

In the original story, only Dumbledore's Patronus was a magical phoenix. Others could only conjure ordinary animals.

Voldemort, witnessing the phoenix, burst with raging fury. It was this phoenix that had caused him such a great loss in the Forbidden Forest last time.

He cast several crushing curses at the phoenix, and Voldemort began summoning new fiery serpents. The intense use of magic had pushed Professor Quirell's body to collapse.

Arthur couldn't do anything when he saw this. There wasn't enough room, and if more fiery snakes came out, Harry would definitely die.

Arthur cast a powerful Transfiguration spell using his body's active magic.

"Stone Sentinels, Arise"

The ground trembled violently as if something was about to appear from under it.

Tall armored stone statues appeared from the ground, wielding heavy swords and shields.

"Enough is enough, Voldemort!"

Arthur quickly drank a potion to replenish some of his decreasing magical power.

This Stone Sentinels spell was currently the most powerful Transfiguration spell Arthur had learned.

By using the hard Transfiguration magic, he could transform stone soldiers to fight on his behalf.

Voldemort, seeing this, didn't dare to underestimate the situation. He raised his wand high.

Then the rubble at his feet floated, numbering in the hundreds. They quickly transformed into arrow-shaped projectiles, controlled by Voldemort, and shot toward the stone statues.

Arthur couldn't help but admire Voldemort's skills. Not only was he skilled in dark magic, but his use of ordinary spells was also amazing.

The combination of the "Diffindo" spell and Transfiguration was not something that just anyone could master.

Unfortunately, the Stone Sentinels had great defensive capabilities. The stone arrows only caused minor damage to the statues as they advanced toward Voldemort.

Soon, Voldemort found himself surrounded and could only continuously use spells to attack the stone statues.

At that moment, the unicorn guardian found an opening. Its horn above shone with divine radiance as it directly aimed for Voldemort's chest.

Voldemort was about to cast a Shield Charm, but Arthur swiftly cast a Silencing Charm, interrupting his spellcasting. The unicorn guardian successfully struck Voldemort.

A large hole appeared in his chest.

"Damn... you!" Voldemort glared at Arthur with resentment. At this point, Voldemort had lost the ability to resist, not to mention the donut hole.

Even Professor Quirell's life force had been drained almost completely.

Arthur knew that the battle had come to an end. He was about to put an end to Voldemort's remaining soul.

Suddenly, a black mist burst out from Professor Quirel's body, quickly rushing out through the donut hole blasted by the spells, forming a dark portal.

"Just wait, Arthur Gaunt! One day, I will return!" Voldemort declared.

"When that day comes, your flesh and your soul will both become my sacrifices!"

Arthur cast several spells at the black mist, but they had no effect. He could only watch helplessly as Voldemort slipped away.

Arthur wasn't concerned about Voldemort's threats. He had already beaten Voldemort so badly, let alone pose a future threat.

At that moment, Harry, who had been trembling behind the Mirror of Erised, heard Voldemort's cruel words and realized that Arthur had won.

Harry stepped out from behind the mirror, shaking, and saw the room in ruins and the fire raging on the floor.

"Did you get the Philosopher's Stone, Harry?" Arthur asked, snapping Harry out of his daze.

"Yes, I did," Harry instinctively replied, still in shock at the tragic scene in front of him.

Although he had witnessed Arthur's strength during their previous encounter in the Forbidden Forest, the result was even greater this time.

The thunderous explosions, the relentless flames, and the towering stone statues all showed Arthur's immense power.

Now that he had obtained the Philosopher's Stone, Harry glanced at the fire on the ground. With a flick of his wand, Arthur cast an Extinguishing Spell.

Then the flames slowly disappeared.

Arthur went up to Harry and asked him for the Philosopher's Stone.

Harry also felt that the Philosopher's Stone might be safer in Arthur's hands, so he handed it over without hesitation.

As Arthur looked at the uniquely shaped red stone in his hand, he raised it to eye level and examined it.

'This is the legendary Philosopher's Stone, said to grant immortality? Why does it seem to lack powerful magical fluctuations?'

Arthur held the Philosopher's Stone tightly and inserted it with magic energy. His expression changed.

'Is this Philosopher's Stone... a fake?'
