Chapter 202: Betrayal

It had been two months since his last meeting with Lady Ravenclaw.

Arthur kept his promise and went to the Room of Requirement with the Grey Lady.

As soon as they entered, before Arthur could even take out the crystal ball, the entire room experienced a massive transformation.

It became exactly the same as the last time they saw each other, with Mrs. Ravenclaw appearing in front of Arthur and the Grey Lady.

"Mother!"

The Grey Lady choked up, her soul becoming somewhat unstable.

"Helena, welcome home,"

Ravenclaw said with a gentle smile, looking at her daughter.

At this moment, Ravenclaw wasn't the most intelligent witch or the founder of Ravenclaw anymore.

Now, She was just a mother longing for her child to come home.

Arthur tactfully left the room, giving this mother and daughter some space.

He arrived at the entrance of the Gryffindor common room, where he had plans to go to Hogsmeade with Harry and Ron.

"Afternoon, Ron, Harry,"

Arthur greeted them as they appeared in Sir Cadogan's painting.

He glanced at Ron's bulging pockets, making sure that Scabbers was there. Today, he was the main character and couldn't be absent.

"Afternoon, Arthur. Aren't you with Hermione and the others today?"

Harry asked with a smile, asking about Hermione and the others' location.

"They went to Scribbulus Writing Instruments to pick up some quills. I'm not interested in those, so I thought I'd take you guys to have some fun."

Arthur said it mysteriously, making the two curious. However, Arthur didn't reveal any information during the trip.

They arrived at the Shrieking Shack, and Ron shivered with fear.

"Arthur, is this the 'fun' place you were talking about? I've heard older students say it's haunted, and terrifying screams can be heard in the middle of the night."

"You'll see when we go in,"

Arthur did not refute, holding onto the two and leading them inside.

As soon as they entered the house, Harry spotted the large black dog that had left a vivid memory in his mind. He stumbled backward a few steps.

Ron felt an irritation in his pocket, and his rat, like crazy, jumped out and frantically ran outside.

"Scabbers! Where are you going, Scabbers?"

Ron shouted, trying to catch Scabbers and bring him back.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

A fast Full Body-Bind Curse froze Scabbers, and with a flick of Arthur's finger, the rat flew in front of him.

However, due to a feeling of disgust, he didn't catch it and let it fall onto the shabby floor.

"Thank you so much, Arthur. You know, Scabbers can be a bit clueless sometimes..."

Ron began expressing his gratitude, but Arthur interrupted him.

"No need, Ron. You'll thank me even more later."

Just as Ron was getting more confused, the black dog stood up and quickly transformed into a wizard.

Wearing a black wizard robe with silver trim, his messy hair and beard had been carefully groomed, and the mature charm of a middle-aged man emanated from him.

Arthur couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

Sirius went out of his way to dress up, was it to make a good first impression on his godson?

Unfortunately, Harry didn't appreciate it. As soon as he laid eyes on Sirius, his glasses-covered eyes turned bloodshot in an instant.

"Expelliarmus!"

"No, Harry! Arthur and Black were working together!"

While Harry was still trying to understand the situation, Ron figured it out. He grabbed Harry's arm, and they started running.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

Arthur cast two Petrification Curses, binding the two of them. There was a hint of helplessness in his voice.

"Ron, stop causing trouble. Harry, don't get too excited. Listen to me, and let me explain everything."

"Harry, what you heard at the Leaky Cauldron was mostly correct. However, it wasn't Black who betrayed your parents; it was Peter Pettigrew."

The Petrification Curse Arthur used was clever. It restrained their movements but allowed them to speak.

Harry couldn't help but shout in anger, "Peter Pettigrew? He already died a cruel death while pursuing Black to avenge my parents! How dare you accuse him!"

"Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick made it clear at that time. Black was the one who killed my parents!" Harry shouted.

"Arthur, if you still consider me your friend, let me go. I'll kill Black!"

Arthur had anticipated Harry's reaction, but Sirius looked extremely hurt.

Strictly speaking, Sirius was indeed responsible for James and Lily's deaths, and Harry was not wrong in saying that.

Arthur controlled Scabbers, who was floating in the air, and explained to them, "I know you won't believe me just by saying it, so I brought another person involved in this."

Sirius nodded repeatedly and said, "Harry, the truth is not what you think. Trust Arthur, he wouldn't harm you. Aren't you friends?"

Harry saw that Black's attitude towards him was not as the newspapers had described it, and his eyes were filled with guilt. And Arthur had been so good to him, helping him defeat Voldemort in his first year.

What reason would he have to team up with Black against him?

Ron, on the other hand, couldn't take it anymore. "Arthur, are you saying that my Scabbers is Peter Pettigrew?!"

"Scabbers is just a rat, he has been living with me for years, we eat together, shower together, and I even sleep holding him. No one knows Scabbers better than me! He's definitely not Peter Pettigrew."
