"That's bullshit!"
Sirius angrily swore.
"I wasn't spying on her! Mrs. Lutsen is already in her sixties!"
Sirius tried to explain to Arthur, but the more he said, the stranger Arthur's eyes became.
In her sixties, and you're still looking?
"That's because Mrs. Lutsen's child used to be a good friend of Peter Pettigrew! I just wanted to show her Peter's face."
Sirius struggled to explain, but Arthur remained doubtful.
Arthur finally believed Sirius when he was about to give up and wanted to show he wasn't guilty.
"Relax, Sirius, I believe you."
Arthur reassured him before preparing to leave. But Sirius actually had something to tell Albus.
"Can you tell Lupin about my situation?"
Sirius felt that having only Arthur help him wasn't enough. If he could get Lupin on his side, he would have one more partner.
Arthur didn't deny it.
"Are you sure Lupin will believe you?"
Sirius fell silent. He wasn't sure either. Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
"The Marauder's Map! It's a map we created that shows the location of everyone in Hogwarts. If you tell him, he will definitely believe me."
But Arthur shook his head. "I've had the Marauder's Map before, but I never found Peter's name on it."
Sirius was surprised that Arthur had seen the map before. After thinking for a moment, he confirmed.
"Peter Pettigrew, the dwarf, is one of the creators of the map. He knows it very well, and he must have erased his own traces. But James and I left through a backdoor. As long as you..."
Sirius explained the process to Arthur, and Albus said he would try it when he returned. The two agreed that they would bring Lupin here once he knew about it, and Arthur left.
Looking at the time, it was still early for his meeting with Cho and Hermione. Arthur decided to have a pint of butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks.
As he entered the pub, Arthur noticed a few familiar faces.
"Headmaster, Professor McGonagall, hello."
At that moment, Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall were sitting at the bar, and a few others were chatting about something with them.
When they saw Arthur, Professor Flitwick happily invited him to sit beside him, and Professor McGonagall smiled and nodded at him.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Gaunt."
Hagrid was also here, but he had his back turned to the entrance, and Arthur didn't see him.
Arthur nodded to Hagrid, his attitude somewhat cold.
But Hagrid didn't mind at all.
"Give me a pint of butterbeer and another glass of mead."
Arthur ordered as he greeted Madam Rosmerta.
The professors and Hagrid didn't pay any attention to the fact that Arthur was underage and drinking.
In their eyes, Arthur was no longer a student they had to treat with a teacher-student relationship, so having a drink was no big deal.
Mrs. Rosemerta quickly brought Arthur's drink over, but instead of leaving, she sat at the bar and chatted with everyone.
"Do you know that the Dementors have searched my pub twice?" she said, clearly angry.
"Those guys have seriously affected my business!"
Fudge couldn't defend himself.
"Darling, I don't like them either, but they're necessary precautions."
He quickly changed the subject.
"Mr. Gaunt, let me introduce you to the person sitting next to me, Mr. Bartemius Crouch, the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation."
"He is here this time for a big event happening at Hogwarts next year."
Sitting next to him, a meticulously dressed wizard with a serious expression nodded at Arthur and forced a smile.
"Mr. Gaunt, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Arthur greeted him in return.
"The Triwizard Tournament, right? I know about it."
Bartemius's expression became serious again. "Yes, we have a lot of preparations to do. This visit is just to discuss the procedures with Dumbledore."
They chatted for a while, but the conversation turned back to Sirius.
"I can't believe Sirius would do such a thing. Back then, he and James Potter were like brothers, always making me laugh,"
Mrs. Rosemerta reminisced while Arthur glanced at a decorated tree.
"Who would have thought? I thought they were really blood brothers,"
Professor McGonagall agreed and sighed, "Who could have imagined that two people with such a close relationship, Sirius would betray Potter in the end?"
In the end, even the usually composed Professor McGonagall choked up a bit.
"Alright, Minerva, let's not talk about this anymore."
Professor Flitwick comforted her. "We didn't want this to happen either. It's just that Potter really trusts Sirius, maybe this is destiny."
Arthur sat quietly, sipping his drink.
The nearby decorated tree seemed to shake for a moment.
After about an hour, it was almost time for him to meet the girls he had arranged to meet, so Arthur bid farewell.
As he took a few steps outside the pub, he suddenly spoke into the air.
"Come out, Harry. I know you've heard everything."
Harry's figure suddenly appeared next to Arthur, his eyes already bloodshot.
"I'm going to kill him!"
Arthur didn't say anything, he just looked at Harry for a moment, and Harry immediately froze.
"Harry, with your current strength, if Sirius is really the one responsible for the death of your parents, you are no match for him."
Arthur didn't reveal the truth. Instead, he hoped that Harry would train hard and improve his strength as much as possible.
The next semester would be chaotic, and as a friend, Arthur wanted Harry to have the ability to protect himself.
Harry couldn't move and could only watch as Arthur helped him put on the Invisibility Cloak again, then walked away.
