Chapter 5 Finding out and Names

"What the hell?" Zhāng whispered while leaning back in his bed.

"How is there a 7 foot… hairy snake in my bed," he thought "and how did it get there without me noticing" after a minute of watching the rhythmic breathing of the so-called 'snake' he decided to lift its head off of this foot very very carefully.

After slipping his foot out from under it and carefully placing its head on a pillow he slowly slipped out of bed, walked to the bedroom sliding door, and very cautiously opened the door while staring at the still sleeping creature.

Almost jogging down the hall he carelessly made a lot of noise, especially making his way down the stairs, once he did get downstairs he ran his way to the living room and warned the 2 people sitting at the table with numerous papers in their hands "There is a snake in my bedroom"

"Ok, take it outside, there shouldn't be any dangerous or poisonous species near here" Flavio replied without even looking at him.

"It's 7 feet long"

"Nah looks more like 9 or 10 feet long" Flavio laughed while looking just above Zhāng.

"What?" Zhāng questioned while looking below him for a snake, it was only after he looked behind him that he saw the 'snake' flying above him promptly making him Recoil back, almost hitting his head on the table Zhāng cried out in shock at the sight of the flying snake.

"My god, your animal is a dragon" Flavio uttered, "and isn't any ordinary dragon either it's of myth"

"What, you are joking!" Liu laughed "there hasn't been a mythical draconic familiar sense Qin Shi Huang, and even that is disputed"

"Honey you're are standing in front of one in flesh, it doesn't have any wings like the ordinary wings; it is a Chinese dragon in the most mythical way"

Moving like a shirt in water, the so-called dragon jerked to the side facing the window pane on the second-floor section of the living room, scrunching its snout and baring its teeth as well. Seeing this Both Flavio and Liu pulled out their wands from their belt seemingly out of nowhere.

"Ok, so dragons exist and now sticks hmm" Zhāng laughed after which the pane of glass exploded sending shards of glass everywhere which just bounced off of the dragon while above both Flavio and Liu a blue, almost watercolored half-circle appeared turning all of the shards of glass into a dust-like substance.

It was only after all of the dust settled to the floor that they noticed that another bird was flapping its wings, hovering in the air looking down at Zhāng.

"Yet another mythical creature, A Roman Eagle" Flavio said amazed, looking around the Eagle swooped down and landed on his shoulder slightly lowering its head "Haha, a mythical creature bowed to me!"

With a flick of her wand, all of the sand on their clothes, faces, and on the floor along with all of the shards on the floor below the dragon all flung back into the place where the pane of glass was

"Can someone tell me what is going on?, PLEASE!"

"So I'm magic then?"

"Only someone with magic can have a familiar, although you have two that would still make you magical, so yes" Liu Replied.

"Why didn't you tell me then?" Zhāng asked

"Because we didn't even want you to join this world, just because magic gives you awesome power doesn't mean it's a blessing"

"Well, I beg to differ, as I could have turned into an obscurus" Zhāng said before immediately showing regret that he said that.

"And how do you know that," both Flavio and Liu said with their facial expressions only.

"Well I got bored one night and so I read a book, unknowing that the book was one that you told me not to read, but in my defense, it was on the couch so how was I supposed to know"

"Was it the only one" to which Zhāng just nodded "then it wasn't that bad" Flavio sighed in relief before getting smacked in the arm by Liu.

Suddenly the Eagle started to shake its wings and twist its head before settling down, while the dragon more directly nudged Zhāng's left arm.

"They want to be named, now usually the naming part is the calm, easy part," Flavio said while pulling out his wand "but these are mythical creatures, meaning names have actual power over not only them but you as well"

"Therefore you must be absolutely careful in not only the naming but keeping them a secret" he Continued "so Liu and I will be going into another room after casting a few spells to make sure that it's kept a secret, also the eagle is a male and the dragon is a female"

"Speculum existentiae" almost instantly the space around Zhāng collapsed and cracked into mirror-like shards completely shutting out the outside world.

It was only after numerous different attempts and more than 20 minutes of sitting there thinking about their names that he finally said something that the eagle accepted as its name.

"Phoelaix Thaclops" in response rays of light appeared seemingly from nowhere bathing both Zhāng and Phoelaix in golden rays "I'm assuming that would be a yes, now for you"

'It is a Chinese dragon so I'm going to assume that only Asian names at the very least would be acceptable and I'd further assume only Chinese names would be acceptable' he thought while reaching to rub her smooth pearly white scales.
