Training took time and effort, it has only been a month, and for the first time he felt challenged, taking the chance to learn how to actively use both his telekinetic side of his mutation and his mind fuckery one. Hell he was even close to learning how to do basic telepathy, which…. Should have been easier than some of the shit he has pulled.

Apart from training his mutation he has also come quite far in his magic training, being able to cast some fourth year spells and the important third year ones. They were getting him warmed up to learn all of the third year and hopefully finish the fourth before ending the school year.

Cedric has also come quite far, he has learned up to fifth year spells but he has been looking for something to focus on, either a new branch or magic or something in the style.

Connor had recommended divination however, Cedric said that it was all bullshit, and Connor was keeping the existence of his hidden gem of a book a secret for now, he wanted to have an edge if necessary.

Cedric was reaching his limit point, he did not want to keep on studying the hogwarts curriculum, he knew he could do much more than just that.

So he found himself walking past the RoR, imagining and thinking about a branch of magic that would suit him that he hadn't tried.

When the doors to the RoR appeared he entered eagerly.

His frustration only arose when he found a single book on a wooden table and lots of dummies looking at him.

He walked, quite quickly, to the book and read the title.

"Elemental" Cedric whispered, reading the title. The book itself seemed quite simple having a brown book cover and the word elemental written in gold.

Without wasting a second Cedric opened the book and started reading..

Connor meanwhile was in the great hall, today was a saturday so they didn't have to worry about classes, but in Connor's head he was thinking of something.

The fucking prophecy.

And he didn't trust Harry to fulfill it, so why not help him be able to do it.

Why would he? Harry was barely able to kill Voldemort in the books, he is not gonna risk some cosmic bullshit of Voldemort deciding to ally himself with Doom to take over the world so he is going to make sure Harry is strong.

Connor, who had just entered the great hall went right to the gryffindor table and sat down next to Ron, in front of Hermione and Harry.

"Hello, how are you guys?" Connor said casually.

The three of them just looked at him and, Merlin, why the hell doesn't he use his mutation to see what people are thinking.

Connor's eyes went through the four of them and he realized something. 'Well Granger might actually hate me', Connor thought seeing the oh jealous eyes that Granger was throwing at him.

Harry, who at least seemed not to hate him like Granger responded.

"You are Connor right? Connor Reige?" Harry asked, seemingly unaware of his existence 'Is harry an idiot or is he just not very observant' Connor thought to himself.

"In the flesh"

"Why are you here?" Granger decided to press him, just as he came. 'Well maybe using my mutation to ease them into saying yes might be necessary'

"Yeah why are you here?" Ron asked too.

"Well I noticed you guys were pretty smart and wanted to know if you wanted to have a study session" Connor could see how both Ron and Granger were ready to decline, but Harry not so much. Maybe he is interested in learning. "I was thinking of a much more practical approach of course"

Ron now looked like he could agree to the deal but Granger remained adamant to refuse, or at least her face seemed like that, so it was time to mess with someone's head a little, maybe not with his mutation, but with something he had practiced with Cedric a lot. A nifty little spell. Fifth year and very, very tricky to use.

With his wand in his hand and pointing at granger head beneath the table he thought 'Confundo'

"Hermione don't you agree that you and I working together, we could learn a lot" Connor said while looking her straight in her eyes and putting his wand in the hostler again.

Granger looked at both Harry and Ron, and suddenly it did make sense, a lot of it actually.

"Well" Her voice didn't come out like she wanted to, more high pitched "We would be happy actually"

Cedric had finished the book a few moments ago, and now looked to what was behind the table with the book.

A lot of runes drawn into the floor with chalk.

"You are an oddly useful room you know?" Cedric talked to himself "Well time to see what kind of fucking elemental I am"

Harry was normally not one to accept an invitation to read or in this case and how Connor had later explained "Trained". but if it came from Connor.

Ok he was not feeling dreamy, no, he was not even feeling like Connor was cute, it was simple, admiration, that's it.

I mean who wouldn't be, right? He got every question right even when he did not raise his hand, asked insightful questions and he got every spell right, on the first try. And he looked so cute when he got that concentrated look on his face scribbling in his notebook during history of magic, and when he would get excited over who knows what in that same class, Harry noted it.

Damn, maybe it is a crush. But a minor one, it definitely was a minor one.

"So what are we gonna do?" Ron asked, clearly frustrated, they had been walking a lot and finally they seemed to have arrived at an abandoned classroom.

"Well it is going to be easier to see once we are inside" Connor said and Harry could see the frustration.

Connor went in first, then Hermione then Ron and finally him.

And he was surprised this was honestly, something? Hell he had no idea what he was looking at.

"We are gonna duel?" Said an excited Ron. Oh that what this is, a dueling arena, well he guessed it was more like somewhere where two duellers would fight against another two, maybe three against three, just based on how spacious it is.

"Exactly but first let me teach you a couple of spells."

Cedric sat concentrated looking at a candle that was lit, concentrated, he could feel the heat as if it were much closer, almost burning him, but he guessed this was what it feels like.

But with no one to help him he was stuck for now, staring at the candle and trying.

"Ok you should have learnt enough magic to try to duel today, Harry would you like to duel?" Harry could wait to answer, make himself look cool, just like he doesn't care but could Harry really do that.

"Of course" He answered almost immediately only to curse in his own mind for seeming too eager.

They both went in position and Ron got in the middle of them, taking up a feather that Connor had brought.

"As soon as this feather touches the ground, the duel shall begin" Ron said a little excitedly.

""So mote it be"" Both Harry and Connor said.

The feather slowly fell.

Dangling in the air from side… To side.

Losing altitude so slowly that it was wrecking Harry's nerves.

And just when it fell and harry got halfway through his spell, all he saw was black

"And that should finish the first lesson" And in his mind he said 'First lesson you got a lot of shit to learn'

Cedric was feeling the heat, his whole body felt like flames, so he let it be, and the moment he let it be his concentration worked.

And Cedric watched the flame on the candle, move itself right next to a candle nearby and stay lit.

After an eventful day both hufflepuffs rejoined in their common room, both with exhausted looks in their eyes.

"How was training the boy who lived?" Cedric asked, smirking.

"You know, it was utterly boring but the boy has lots of potential even more than his friend, Granger. How about you, pretty boy, how was your time in the RoR?" Connor asked mischievously at the end, honestly hoping the boy had opened up to the idea of divination and then he will show him the book he has been learning this obscure charms from.

Cedric looked around making sure no one was seeing and then he lifted his hand and on the index finger, a small flame was born.

Connor looked to the finger then to Cedric, back to the finger, trying to understand the situation until it all became clear.

"Holy shit you are a fire elemental" He whispered in a shout.

"I am" Said a very cocky Cedric in response.

They both laughed and chatted a bit more before Connor went to sleep.

The sweet embrace of the night shifted into his mind, making his brain numb, and his muscles relaxed, he was dreaming of being truly powerful. When he saw her approaching.

A woman, an old woman, she looked to be about sixty with some gray hair but mostly brown, a robe made of what seemed to be the bluest blue, and she spoke to him, with her piercing gray eyes.

"I see you, young witch" Was this bitch blind or something that she didn't saw he was a fucking man "Rejoice as Edith has come" She spoke, as if he should care about it, "I see you already know some magic, but join my coven and your dreams will really come true" Somehow, she didn't need to say it, somehow his brain fill the information up to him, this wasn't a witch speaking to him, at least not a witch in the wizardry sense, no she couldn't be, she was a witch of coven, those who were hunted in the witch trials those more powerful than the stick waving, she was a witch of marvel, and more importantly he was not a mutant.

He was a witch.

"I'm gonna come for you, youngling, and if you refuse, I will not be so kind"

Fuck

AN: Spoiler alert

I'm not retconning Connor being a mutant, He is one, and that will be tied as to why he is a wizard and a witch. If you read this far, leave a powerstone please, also I have changed some of the tags and put bl because yes this is a gay romance.
