32 Chapter 32 : Too Much Light Can Also Blind

Rose was pondering over what Orion told her yesterday night, and unknown to her, a certain lord of light was also pondering over his words.

She was staring at the fireplace while sitting all alone in the main hall. The only person she barely talked to there was Ron who was stuck to his wizard chess all day. Unlike the cannon, Rose here was much more familiar and open to Hermione, thanks to them being in the same dorm and even in the same room. Thus she didn't connect that well with Ron here.

Staring at the fire, like it was the mirror from yesterday, she first hallucinated about her parents. She saw them in the Mirror of Erised yesterday, the loneliness in her sad eyes was apparently to anyone who had faced the same loneliness in their past, Ron on the other hand couldn't connect much.

But the image of her parents didn't stay for long as then she saw the next image, and there was a slight blush with a complicated expression on her face. She was all grown up and there was a man standing beside her, hand in hand, both were smiling.

She had never seen this man before but the handsome look with lengthy black hair and almost shining blue eyes, she was suspicious about his identity as she believed that she knew the man or at least the boy who would become this man in future, this had been bothering her since yesterday, why he was there, what she really wanted in her heart? She didn't know anymore.

"I see Darkness," Orion said,

She remembered what he said yesterday and looked at the fire once again, "Darkness," She couldn't help but mutter out.

What Orion said yesterday was in her mind all night, well Orion as a whole was in her mind but Rose will not accept it even if someone bet her seeker position on it, in particular, didn't understand much about what Orion said, it was a little complicated for an 11-year girl but she understands that he told those things to cheer her up.

But suddenly she realized that she was again thinking about the same boy who didn't let her sleep all night, (because she kept thinking about it and for no other reason I promise) she shook her head and pressed her hands on her face, trying to hide the small creeping blush and remove those mesmerizing blue eyes and that husky voice which gave her shivers out of her head. She didn't realise but the effect of Devil's Tongue was still going hard on her, at least Psychologically.

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was a good man, or at least he wanted others to believe that he was a good man, he himself couldn't though, he used to be very ambitious back when he was young, at one point even wanted to rule the world with his significant other (Cough* Cough* a certain dark Cough* lord), but that all change with the death of her sister Ariana Dumbledore.

Now he just wanted peace, he worked hard to achieve this peace, even had to defeat his lover and make him a prisoner. But what he will never admit is that he still has ambition for power, he still has ambition for glory and above all the urge to control.

He is a manipulator who drove Tom Riddles to such a degree, he never wanted to but he did and things got out of his hands. He let Rose be raised in an abusive house just to later manipulate her.

And there were countless more times when he for the 'GREATER GOOD' Sacrifice those around him, those who chose light over darkness and he did all of this just to achieve his only single goal in life. No one knew this goal besides him and he never told about this to anyone.

'Light is just as blinding as darkness,' Dumbledore couldn't help but repeat what he heard yesterday night and frown with a very complicated expression on his face.

'Orion D. Ambrosius, this boy's magic is weak, but his mind is extraordinary, he ..." Dumbledore stopped his thinking and remembered what the child said to Rose yesterday.

-Flash Back-

"I see Darkness," Orion said with a neutral expression and both Rose and Dumbledore after hearing this were a little taken aback. 

"All I see is darkness, I can't even see myself," Orion said again and Rose who was listening to him got confused and worried for the boy who suddenly held her hand with all affection and care, talking about darkness and in all serious tone. Dumble on the side too got curious.

Rose was about to say something but then Orion again talked, "Everything is dark except one source of light," Orion said while still staring into the Mirror.

"Remember that the Strongest of Souls are often sent to the darkest of places...., it is in the dark where they find their purest self.

You see Rose, too little light can cause blindness but too much light does the same, Light is just as blinding as darkness," Orion said fully knowing that much of it was going above her head, but maybe a certain stalker could understand. But unknown to him, his words almost felt like daggers to that stalker.

"I Believe that it's a privilege to be born in the darkness and then given an opportunity to follow the light. Life is not fare I agree, but it's not cruel either. If it's taken so much from you then it has given you back as well, you don't realize it yet.

Do you think that those surrounded by light have it better? Think again. They are blinded by light, they don't know where they are going, and they are just as clueless and directionless as a person surrounded by darkness.

Only a person who has darkness, understands the value of light, in fact, we can only truly follow the light when we are surrounded by darkness. It's a choice which life gives to a few individuals. A choice to truly fine once calling. And that is why I called it a privilege.

Yes, it's unfair, I agree. Darkness will torture you, physically and mentally, and when you come out of it, if you ever choose to come out of it, you will be unrecognizable." Orion finally turned his gaze from the mirror to Rose who was trying to comprehend what Orion was trying to say.

"Not fair I know but life is not fair, but it's not cruel either as it gives you an opportunity which many might never get in their entire life even if they search for it. Life gave you a chance to follow your true calling, as only those who can follow the path of truth who are surrounded by darkness and can only see light, and willingly choose to follow it.

So don't pity yourself or down on your life, you are in a position where many dreamed that they could have been, not because it is a nice place to be in but only because it is at this position where you can really find your true calling, you can find the light and the path to follow," Orion said and sighed, maybe that was a little too much philosophy for an 11-year-old. 

Orion turns back, getting out of there but while getting out he remembers to say the last words, mainly repeating what he said to her in the starting.

"Remember that only the strongest of the souls are often sent to the darkest of the places, as it is in the dark where they find their purest of self.... It in in the darkness where they become the strongest version of there self... It is in the darkness where they can truly follow the light," Those words stuck not only with Rose but even more with Dumbledore than even he or Orion realized.

While getting out, Merlin said.

"Don't you think that you went a little far there ?" Merlin asked already knowing what exactly Orion saw in the Mirror.

"Well, I agree that that was a little too cringe for someone who is coming from the 21st century but come on, I can't tell her that I saw Anime Girls with Big Tities... now can I," Orion groaned with embarrassment and just thank god that he and Merlin where the only one who really knows what he saw.
