Chapter 308 : Court Trial 1

Orion walked silently beside Dumbledore as they made their way through the corridors of Hogwarts. The weight of what had happened in the trial of the Triwizard Tournament hung over him like a dark cloud.

It was not that he destroyed much land, nor was his identity revealed.

He was frustrated mainly because for two reasons, one he only now realized that Hermione wasn't what he believed until now, hell she wasn't Hermione all this time. Hermione died and he didn't even know it.

This was the frustration eating him away.

This and the fact that whatever was set into motion all that time ago is coming soon. He himself didn't have much knowledge about the Rebirth of magic, Merlin didn't tell him much before he got stuck in the fate world.

He only knew that it would happen every 1000 years, and seeing that the thousands of years are but to end with the current year being 1995... he was restless.

He doesn't have much time, Merlin once told him that only the true guardian can stop death. The power given to guardians is even enough to completely kill that mad woman, but no guardian still now, not even Merlin himself was able to master this "Harmony" power as Eric stated.

He also knew that Merlin was among the best when it came to using this power, if not the best.

Knowing this wasn't hard to connect the dots with what Merlin was trying to teach him. Merlin himself said that he never mastered a Law to its entirety. He only partially mastered them, and he wanted me to master all of them.

Seeing how apparent he was at that, Orion was sure that this Harmony power had something to do with the Three Major Laws.

Orion knew that he had to find out more about this Harmony power and master all three Lawas before the rebirth of Magic.

But... that is the most problematic thing, he lacks time...

"Sigh" Orion can't help but sigh after thinking all this thing, his headache coming back even worst now.

The destruction, the deaths of Morgan, Hermione, and Nick—he couldn't shake the images from his mind, and the more he thought the more it weighted down on him that he needed to be ready. Now, he was being called to the Ministry of Magic for a court trial, he was thinking what he should do.

'Maybe revealing what I am capable is the best option...at least that will solve this kind of distraction like this useless court trial from my life.'

As they walked, Dumbledore glanced at him, his face calm but eyes filled with concern.

Of course, the concern wasn't for the boy walking quietly beside him, the concern was about what he might do if he got irritated enough...

"Orion," he began softly, "you know this trial will not be easy. Many in the Ministry are afraid of what happened, and they will have questions—many questions."

Orion stayed silent for a moment, his thoughts elsewhere. "I know what they'll ask," he said finally. "But I'm not worried about their questions. I have already done my homework before coming."

Dumbledore sighed, knowing the boy's attitude well. Orion wasn't one to be intimidated. His power had grown to levels that no one in the wizarding world could challenge, not even the Ministry.

"Orion," Dumbledore said, his voice firmer now, "I must advise you—when you're at the trial, you must remain calm. You cannot let your emotions get the better of you. If you do anything... rash, there will be consequences."

Orion stopped walking, turning to face Dumbledore. "Consequences? For who?" he asked, his voice low. "I will follow your plan for the time being, but if I feel that those Ministry fools are too loud, I will take over the case..." Orion replied with a firm tone making Dumbledore shake his head. He was fearing this exact thing.

Though he knew that Orion wouldn't kill anyone but with that level of power, not killing could be worse if the person had a twisted personality.

At least he can take solemn at that that the boy was still hasn't turn dark.

Just your typical rebellious phase of teenagers.

'Sigh...I hate teenagers...' Dumbledore grumbled under his breath.

Dumbledore met his gaze, his expression serious but gentle. "That is exactly what worries me, Orion. I know your power has surpassed that of most witches and wizards, but power is not just about what you can do—it's about what you choose to do. And in that courtroom, surrounded by people who are afraid and angry, your choices will matter more than your abilities."

Orion looked away, his jaw tight. He knew Dumbledore was right, but it didn't change how he felt. "They're going to try to pin this on me," he said. "They'll want someone to blame for what happened, and I'm the easiest target."

"They will ask for explanations," Dumbledore corrected. "Not all in the Ministry wish to see you fall, your name, both the names hold too much power for them to do that, but there are some who are wary and will try to put you down... not in a convenient sense. Politically they will do this. Let me handle this okay."

Dumbledore placed a hand on Orion's shoulder. "I know you are carrying much weight. Just leave the talking to me. I have been dealing with those Ministry fools for longer than you have been alive. I will handle them." Dumbledore said with a little smirk coming on his face. Like saying 'I got skills' in that regard.

Orion nodded slowly, "And what if they push too far?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Dumbledore's hand tightened slightly on his shoulder. "Then you walk away. You don't need to prove your strength or your innocence with force. Sometimes, walking away is the greatest show of power."

The two resumed their walk, the grand stone halls of Hogwarts growing quieter as they neared the exit. The carriage that would take them to the Ministry awaited, its dark frame standing stark against the gloomy sky.

As they reached the carriage, Dumbledore gave Orion one last look, his blue eyes filled with both trust and warning. "Remember, Orion, the people in that room are not your enemies. They are simply afraid of what they cannot control. Give them reason to trust you, not fear you."

Orion climbed into the carriage, his face unreadable. "I'll do my best," he said quietly, though his mind was still troubled, not about the trial but more about what he gonna do about Merlin, the Time issue he is facing and finally what is ultimately coming.

As the carriage moved towards the Ministry, Orion gazed out of the window, lost in thought.

"I need to talk with Eric, there has to be a way...
