30 Chapter 30 : Rose And The Mirror Of Erised

Learning the real reason why Deathly Hallows exists was a shocker for Orion, learning about the true face behind death was an even bigger shock. He never anticipated that this world had such a long time of history working in the shadow.

After complementing the situation, he suddenly found himself in, just shook his head and decided not to think too much about the future right now, not like he could do anything about it as he was right now anyway. He needs to get stronger and that is the only thing he knows so far.

Getting out of the Room of Requirement, he took out the Marauder's map from his pocket, and said slowly, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good,". Immediately the map came to life, ink appeared with some complex magic and took the shape of Hogwarts.

Orion used the map to avoid anyone who might be patrolling the castle late at night, but today was a little different as he saw two names which made him take a double look at the map.

"Why I'm not surprised, Rose Potter and Nick Iron, outside of the dorm in the time of curfew." Merlin on the sideline said while Orion pondered the reason they could be outside right now.

When it comes to Nick, he has no idea, the boy has been a mystery to him as magic itself, Orion wanted to follow him around but considering how handicapped he is in magic, he decided not to go around, looking for trouble.

Rose is a different case though, not only the girl is a good friend but she also the original protagonist of this world. He searched through his mind palace, searching all the memories to find what could cause Rose to roam around the castle at this hour, and then he suddenly opened his eyes in recognition. 

"She is looking for Nicolas Flamel, most likely finding clues for the philosopher's stone," Orion mutters and decides to go after her. Harry Potter from the Cannon story found the Mirror of Erised this time in the story. Orion if he gets a chance to study the mirror, can come up with a solution to get the philosopher stone out of the mirror with the help of Merlin.

Orion slowly moved towards the library, surprisingly both Rose and Nick went to the library for some reason, 'Sounds very SUS', was Orion's response to it, but maybe the even bigger mystery was how they missed each other. Maybe Rose spotted Nick, considering that she has the invisibility cloak, it makes sense.

Orion slowly entered the library, making sure not to make any noise, and alert Nick who was going on his merry way and Filch who had nothing better to do than make trouble for excellent students like him. Actually, he long learned the weak Silencio charm, with increased magic it's still a little hard to cast for him but he can do it, and thus with that and the Marauder's map, it was pretty easy for Orion to sneak around.

When he entered the library it looked nothing less than a haunted room with its dark and eerie environment and chilling temperature, he thought twice to just let the girl do her off-the-school homework and go back to his dorm.

He saw Rose taking out a book and reading it, very attentively so as she never saw Orion sneaking around her.

"Ms Potter, you have been a very Naughty Girl," Orion silently came behind Rose and with a low voice said. He just wanted to tease Rose a little. He didn't even realise that he unconsciously activated his devil's tongue magic which he was practising so much that now whenever he wanted to talk slowly with building suspense, he unconsciously activated this magic.

He immediately realized what he had just done but the damage was already done, he saw Rose freeze up, the book she was holding slide from her hand. Good thing that Orion had his wand in his hand and with a simple flick of his wand, stopped the book from falling to the floor and making noise.

After increasing his power, he has long learned almost all the basic spells and now can do it without even wand movement and spells. But the problem of power was still there and it showed when he couldn't hold up a relatively heavy object like a book with his current magical strength and drop the book, but it was a soft landing, not making much more noise than he should.

Rose was not expecting anyone to be in the Library at this hour, but there was someone, Nick Iron a first-year Slytherin student was there. Rose knew him because he was the only other student besides Orion who got good marks in the potions.

She had no idea what he was doing in the library at this hour and wasn't ready to put her nose in other people's business. So, she just waited to until he was done and gone, Rose also noticed that he took out a book with him, it was something to do with wards.

'What are wards ?' she wondered, the term was a little familiar to her but couldn't remember where she heard the word. But that didn't matter to her as she then started searching for clues for Nicolas Flamel. 

She, Hermione and Ron only had this name to go off with. There were no other clues, and the restricted section of the library was the only place where she could find any clues about this Nicolas Flamel.

She half doubted that Orion could have helped them but Ron didn't want to include more people in his mission there and not to mention Mr Ambrosius hardly stayed with them, always reading something, doing some sort of exercise or god knows what. Rose couldn't help but pouted at this. She wanted to spend more time with her first friend but the said friend had no time to spare.

She remember how Orion bitch slap Malfoy and make him run away with his tail between his legs, a little giggle appear on her cute face when thinking about that day, for the first time she saw how strong Orion could be. She wonders whether she could be as strong as Orion.

"Ms Potter, you have been a very Naughty Girl" Suddenly a voice which sent shivers through her body came from her back. Her body felt like she hit a Petrificus Totalus spell. 

There was an increased sense of rush in her body and unlike how Orion had suspected, it was not only fear but also excitement.

Excitement ....?
