Chapter 204 : Anti Climatic 2

"...And that's what happened," Daphne said with much excitement in her voice while making exaggerated motions to explain. 

Both Orion and Rose saw this with amusement, though they were in the infirmary but it didn't feel like that by their conversation at all. 

"So Dementor's attack, till that I know. I was trying to evade them but one of them got me and I started falling. That was the last thing I remember.

According to you, Orion saved me and even used an overpower Patronus Spell which took the shape of a Dragon to scare away all the Dementors.

But just after that Vampires show up." Rose asked half confused and half not believing the story. She even looks at Orion to ask for confirmation. 

"Don't ask me, I too have no idea about those Vampires. I went after the Dementors, I wasn't there." Orion shrugged but he clearly wasn't happy with what he heard from Daphne about the Vampire incident. 

"Oh yeah, about that why you went after them, you idiot. You even leave your Patronus behind. Do you know how dangerous that could be, you alone chasing those hundreds if not thousands of Dementors? Are your mind in the ring place," Daphne immediately berated after remembering what happened. She wasn't the only one either. 

Before coming here, Orion has already gotten enough scolding from many professors. Especially McGonagall. 

And upon seeing that Rose was about to do the same he quickly said.

" Okay okay, I heard that already. I did that so I knew all of them were out of the Hogwarts ground. If one attack happened then another can happen as well right? I just wanted to make sure that they are nowhere close to the school, that's it." Orion raises his hands in defence as if he surrenders. 

Seeing this Rose who was about to do same as Daphne, no longer opened her mouth. 

Only Orion and Merlin know though why exactly did he go after the Dementors?

[They would be surprised if they that all those Dementors they are talking about are currently sealed in that cube in your pocket] Merlin mused.

'Hmm,' Orion just nodded. 

"I am sorry Rose, but there is something we need to tell you," Daphne said. 

"Huh, what ?" Rose asked with curiosity but upon seeing the hesitation on Daphne's face, her own face had a solemn look.

"Your broom, it's broken when you fell," Daphne said as he reached out the broken broom parts he wrapped around the piece of clothes and showed it to Rose. 

This brought a dampness in the mood of both the girls.

Something similar happens in the cannon, and here in this alternative world also this thing happens. 

"Don't worry, I can fix it. Others might not but remember I have my own lines of Broom going in the market.

I practically made this thing for a living, and believe we are the best in the biz. 

If you say so then I will show you some newer models from my company but some thing tells me that you wouldn't want that. Do you ?" Orion asked with a smile back on his face. 

"Ah thank you. And yes, I appreciate that you are doing this for me but I don't want a new one. That was given to me by Professor McGonagall. I rather have that one if possible please," Rose said with a sweet smile. Melting both Daphne's and Orion's hearts. 

"Say no more. I got everything under control. But don't expect I won't improve the thing while I'm at it." Orion said with a wink.

This was followed by more giggles and laughter with both girls.

After excusing himself from the Infirmary, Orion went out for a walk, leaving both the girls together to continue their girls' talk or whatever.

Unlike the situation earlier, right now there was no smile or joy on Orion's face. Like he did a complete 180.

'There is no doubt that the Vampires came here for me. Most likely the sudden Dementor attack was also related to them. 

Seeing that they came but didn't attack at all explain much about who their real target was.' Orion thought with much irritation and anger bubbling inside him. Those damn nightwalkers are now really getting on his nerves. 

[I agree, if Dementor's attack was a setup by that Vampires then you spoil their plan even before they could start. But that still doesn't make sense why they will just turn back without any conflict. As Daphne said they were here for someone. 

It's only natural that they return without making anymore because that someone wasn't there when they attacked the stadium. 

And the only person who wasn't there was you.] Merlin nodded in agreement.

'I gotta do something about there problem now. I can no longer leave them alone. Just 3 years and they infiltrated Hogwarts. 

Next time they might even go after someone important to me.' Orion said with a serious face. The usual casual attitude was nowhere to be seen. 

[Well that is your own decision. I will not interfere with that] Merlin just said and took a step back in the conversation. 

'Good,' 

Taking out the cube in which he put all the dementos in, Orion ponders over something before shaking his head. 

'No, not now. I need to first get used to the magical power I have now. Absorbing more right now will just make me go out of control again,'

Merlin listening to this just nodded silently in confirmation, showing his approval.

[So you will go for them alone. 

Remember no matter how strong you are but they have numbers with them.

They will overwhelm you before even you can make distance or use your powers.

Even someone like Dumbledore won't attack an entire Vampire colony alone] Merlin seeing what Orion was thinking immediately reminded the hot-headed boy.

"I know," Orion said but stopped as he found that he had switched to actually talking, from just thinking in his mind. Looked around and after making sure that no one heard him, something he started doing all over again as he recently has gotten more vigilant about his actions and surroundings. Another side effect of just putting himself back into that serious phase. 

He after making sure to continue. 

'I know, I have to find help. The ministry people are out of the question. They won't even let me join in the fight. Let alone work together.

Need to find someone else. 

There is also the fact that I currently have no idea where this vampire's hideout is and what kind of power I am up against here. 

How many Vampires, what kind of power they have and their alliances. 

There is just much I don't know right now.' Orion added with a serious face. 

[So what are you planning on doing then ?] Merlin asks as if curious. 

Though Merlin himself has many ways to help out Orion he usually lets the boy think for himself. Only suggesting if he truly is stuck or is making a really bad mistake. 

"Well, this is the time to put all that contact I build while doing business into good use.

I don't expect to directly get a lead but there is always an 'I know this guy who knows this other guy' situation.

The world is a smaller place than you thing, especially when we are talking about the world of wizards. 

There are always connections one way or another. Have some time on hand before the Christmas vacation. Should be enough to plan something out." Orion said as he started plotting his plan.

Merlin too just nodded.

He earlier wanted Orion to kill Nick and be done with it, but now seeing that the boy really has something to do with Death, moving against him is much harder. 

So he later didn't talk about it anymore. But still, the boy needed some kind of experience when it came to using his powers and this might be the best chance.
