Chapter 13

"Me… how long will it take for him to get back to normal?"

"About four or five days." She said as she walked over to her table and brought back two cups filled with a bluish liquid.

"If you see him wake up, feed this to him. Even if it means using force, shove it down his throat. And dear, please help him out if there are any problems."

"Okay…"

"Good."

The school nurse went back to her desk and the two looked at each other before smiling.

"Thank you for helping me out. He would've probably died if it wasn't for the help you provided."

"Ah. Yes. No problem. You guys seem very close…"

Aman nodded and leaned back slowly until his head touched the pillow. He had nothing to talk about and it was always like that. He knew that he was very bad at conversations and wondered how he could talk so easily with Alex.

'Although it took me some time to start talking to him, it did become a bit easier to do so as days passed by. Maybe I'll make more friends if I try more.'

He simply stared at the ceiling and time passed slowly as minutes turned to hours as he continued to stare.

Hannah was a bit too dumbfounded to see him simply stare at one place for hours without doing anything. Although she found him a bit cute, she got bored quite fast and began to read some random book that was placed on the table beside her.

Alex's hands twitched and soon, he opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was Aman's face and then Hannah's. He felt uneasy as Aman smiled and the next second, he felt his jaw being forcefully opened.

Aman put his two fingers inside Alex's nose and used his other hand to pull the jaw down. Surprisingly, it was a bit too easy and according to how they discussed, Hannah poured the contents in the cup inside Alex's mouth.

Alex tried to struggle but, his body didn't move according to his wished. Everything was for naught and he simply cursed as he felt his consciousness slip back into the depths of darkness.

'This bastard…'

*************

It took him only a day to get his bones back in place, but the muscles and tissues that were damaged would take longer to heal according to the nurse.

Alex stared at Aman for a few seconds before asking him something that bothered him a lot.

"What spell did you use on me before we fell?"

"…." Aman sighed and rubbed his forehead as if it was a taboo subject while Hannah laughed like she wasn't going to live for long.

"Come on, Aman. Tell him about the spell. Hahahahahahahaaaaah."

Hannah's laughs turned to wheezes as she tried to breathe and laugh at the same time, only to cough like there was no tomorrow.

"…. It's not a spell. It's a curse word that my father used to use often."

This time it was Alex's turn to stay silent. The awkward atmosphere didn't even last a few seconds as Hannah had not yet stopped fighting for her life.

Alex didn't know what was so funny about it so he attached her weird behaviour to her age and it made sense. He was also eleven years old like the others but, for some reason he felt that the way they acted was a bit too carefree and joyous.

'If only they knew that they would be a part of the war against one of the most powerful dark wizards in the history….'

Alex and Aman started talking and although Hannah tried to join in their conversation, it seemed like she would be pushed out eventually.

She gave up after a few tried and just looked at them talk about some of the most bizarre topics she had ever heard about.

Alex made some of the most boring topics such as the complicated workings of how a wand chooses a wizard and how brooms could potentially be modified to fit into a perfect role in quidditch for the players.

Aman seemed to be able to talk for hours on end when he was with Alex and he only talked about was food and music.

Their conversations seemed to start from something normal like charms and transitioned into torture methods or how Dumbledore and McGonagall could be dating.

The sense of thrill she felt on that day by just listening was more than what she experienced in her whole life except for the life-saving incident a few days ago and by the end of the day, she found herself involved in their meaningless talks and she didn't even know when it started and how it even happened.

The next morning, Aman and Hannah were discharged while Alex faced the spells from Madam Pomfrey.

They weren't too painful, but the spells made his legs itch to an unbelievable level. He couldn't even move as he would be forced to drink some weird potion that paralysed him and made him feel extremely sleepy after a few minutes.

Days quickly passed and Alex gave up, leaving everything to the nurse and cursed the girl who knocked him off of his broom. It took him a week to recover completely and as he walked back out, he felt like his legs were stronger than before, albeit the difference was less.

He didn't know how it happened but, Hannah and Aman seemed to have become closer while he spent time in the hospital wards, suffering. Most of the classes that Ravenclaws attended was with Hufflepuffs while Transfiguration was with Gryffindors and Herbology was with the Slytherins.

Alex walked into the great hall for breakfast and saw Aman, Hannah and another girl with them. He knew that the girl who knocked him off his broom was the one sitting beside Hannah.
