A small boy looked at the woman who took care of him from the day he was born, bleeding on the hard pavement. Her arms were broken while a bone pierced out from her thigh.

The time seemed to have stopped and there was a deep red hue in his eyes as he turned to stare at the bus driver who had hit his mom with intense fury. The emotions were out of his control as he saw the driver's head burst into pieces before he lost consciousness.

The time flow seemed to have gone back to normal as a group of people gathered around the dead woman and a supposedly unconscious boy.

In a white room that seemed to stretch infinitely, two beings stood opposite to each other. One man and one woman seemed to be in a very serious conversation and after a while, the man nodded.

He looked at the gorgeous lady floating in front of him and said, "So… I will merge with the soul of some kid that you selected… won't I just lose my whole personality if that happens?"

"You will not. By soul I meant magic power mostly along with a little bit of his strong will, if he has any."

He sighed and before he could speak, the lady snapped her finger, turning him into a ball of light which shot at a particular direction and headed straight out of the room.

The young boy opened his eyes, only to find himself in a hospital ward.

He recalled the conversation he had a few seconds ago, at least that was what he felt like. It was hard as every time he tried to remember, his head hurt. It took him a few hours but he recalled the entire conversation.

'So… Alex Jordan huh? Oh, our mom died… more like the woman who conceived the body that I'm currently occupying? Did my soul really merge? But… where did my memories go…. I'm sure I remember the talk I had in that weird white room just now and whatever this story and information that's in my mind right now. Hmm, Harry Potter… the boy who lived? Let's see what else has been stuffed into my head.'

He closed his eyes and tried to concentrate, only to lose consciousness. It took him a few hours to open his eyes again, only to frown.

'Looks like I lost consciousness, but I can now clearly access all this new information about this kid called Harry and the stuff he did in a magical school called Hogwarts. Hmm, so let's see… according to this so-called angel, I'll be assigned a sin every year starting from my first year at Hogwarts and I'm supposed to act according to the sin I've been assigned? Alright, seems simple enough.

Moving on, mom was a muggle before she died in an accident… more like died trying to save her child which is obviously me but looks like she didn't achieve her goal as this thing called magic should have acted up… more like accidental bursts of magic or whatever these people call it.

Dad must be a wizard or one of my ancestors is a wizard? Oh of course, how could I ever forget the possibility of me being a muggle born.'

He felt no remorse or sadness when he thought of his dead mother as he had almost no memories of the time spent with her. To him, it was like reading about a random person who died on a road far away and death was a common occurrence.

It was still night and the lights were off so he glanced at the other patients who were peacefully sleeping and soon, fell asleep.

A few days passed and it seemed like things had happened too fast as he looked at the dead man, who was apparently his father.

The nurse put her hands on Alex's shoulder as she thought that he needed some support, which he didn't as he felt nothing towards the man. In fact, he felt emotionally empty from the time he opened his eyes.

"When he got the news that your mother had died, he got a heart attack. Unfortunately, the man who told him the news was a muggle and took him to a muggle hospital. By the time the ministry received the news, it was already too late."

The nurse said as she released him from her grasp while he simply nodded. A ministry official who had been waiting for the nurse to finish telling him the news, stepped forward.

"My name is Miguel Langley and I am from the ministry of magic. I am sorry for your loss." He said, putting forth his hand for Alex to shake, which he ignored but gave him a nod.

Seeing the lack of response, Miguel simply got into the thing he had been sent to do.

"Alex Jordan, the son of Bruce and Alice Jordan. According to the will of your father, you will inherit all of his magical currency and properties while every muggle property will go to his cousin. This is the list of everything that you will have from now."

Alex took the parchment and saw the abysmally short list that only contained four things.

Wand

Tinkers Korner in Knockturn Alley

(157) Galleons, (873) Sickles and (69) Knuts

House Elf named Toffy

He looked up at Miguel and simply stared at him with a blank expression. A few seconds later, he blinked and tears rolled down his chins. It was something he had seen a few of the patient's kids do in his ward and it looking at the nurse's expression, it seemed like he was successful.

The nurse soothed him while Miguel simply stood there, looking guilty. He sighed as he saw Alex relax and continued as he had more work to do for the day.

"You can opt for a guardian and in your case that will be your uncle. The second option is to stay alone and this is only possible because you have a house elf that can take care of you."
