"Nicholas Flamel?" Nagini asked, surprised.
"If you're thinking of the renowned 14th-century alchemist, the legendary wizard who created the Philosopher Stone, then yes," Aurelius nodded.
"No way! People from the 14th century are still alive?" Nagini couldn't believe it. "I always thought it was just a legend. He made the elixir of life with the magic stone?"
Aurelius smiled and replied, "Wizards have long lifespans. If there are no accidents, I can live for at least a hundred years, not to mention a legendary wizard who crafts magic stones and refines the elixir of immortality."
"I know magic is extraordinary, but I never expected it to be this extraordinary. Do you know Nicholas?" Nagini asked, emotionally.
"No, I haven't met Nicholas, but I am acquainted with Albus Dumbledore, and we have a good relationship. I will write to him and ask him to introduce..." Before finishing his sentence, Aurelius halted abruptly.
dong dong dong
Aurelius narrowed his eyes and glanced at the door. Then, he turned to Nagini and cast a questioning look.
Nagini shook her head, indicating that she didn't know who it was.
Aurelius's eyes turned pitch-black, with sparks flashing in his stare. As an Obscurus, he had no eyes or ears but possessed special sensory abilities. A mere door posed no obstacle to him.
A man dressed entirely in black stood outside the door—completely black, inside and out!
Yet, the mysterious geometric mark on his collar revealed his identity as a follower of Grindelwald, the witch-hunting party.
The laws of the Ministry of Magic were peculiar. Sometimes they seemed severe and, at other times, outrageously lenient.
Although Grindelwald's crimes were widely known, his followers boldly displayed their mark and roamed the streets with arrogance because there was no evidence of their crimes.
This scenario was not unfamiliar; it had occurred before with the Alliance Party and would likely happen again.
Years later, after the terror instigated by the Dark Lord Voldemort, numerous Death Eaters were released due to lack of evidence.
"Quite polite," Aurelius smiled and gestured for Nagini to enter the room first.
Understanding his intention, Nagini, accompanied by the large cat Zouwu, entered the room.
Aurelius raised his hand and gestured, opening the door.
The man in black prepared to speak but found no one in front of him. He looked up and saw Aurelius, sitting cross-legged with a teacup, giving him a distant salute.
The man in black's face darkened. He felt that perhaps joining forces with Grindelwald was indeed the only way to defeat Dumbledore.
Inscrutable! Of course, Aurelius couldn't see the dark look on the wizard's face, and he didn't care either.
"Come in, sir," Aurelius said.
wizard walked in and took out an exquisite greeting card from his arms. It was a true greeting card!
Aurelius was dazzled by the greeting card.
When did Grindelwald develop this hobby?
"Mr. Grindelwald has specially prepared a greeting note for you. He hopes to have a chat with you. This wizard cherishes his words and maintains a humble and polite attitude.
Aurelius even noticed that the wizard held the greeting card in both hands as he handed it over. Although he could see that the wizard was a little awkward, he still tried his best to maintain this strange etiquette.
As soon as Aurelius raised his hand, the greeting card slipped from the wizard's palm and slowly floated in front of Aurelius.
No contact, open it by yourself, and you'll see lines of English.
Aurelius didn't expect such a thing to happen.
After taking a few glances, Aurelius found that the content was straightforward.
Grindelwald hoped they could talk face to face and promised it would only be him. He even assured Aurelius that he would not carry a wand to alleviate any concerns.
"I'm interested." Aurelius put away the greeting card and looked at the old man: "Please tell Mr. Grindelwald that since he was polite first, I will return the favor. I'll be waiting for him in three days. He may not be familiar with this place, but I'm sure he'll be able to find me."
Wizard breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "I'll inform him."
Without even knowing his name, the wizard immediately left after seeing Aurelius' agreement.
"This is interesting. Grindelwald has changed a lot since his release from prison. Could it be that even the Magical Congress can reform prisoners through labor?"
"Are you planning to meet Grindelwald?" Nagini came out of the room.
"I still want to see. he sent the greeting cards. If he doesn't see me, it wouldn't be appropriate." Aurelius handed the card to Nagini.
"But..." Nagini knew how dangerous Grindelwald was and was very worried.
"It's nothing, he can't overpower me." Aurelius was confident.
If this had happened before, he might not have been so confident. But now, he was completely different.
With the ability to apparate using the power of the Phoenix and the vast sky as his domain, as long as he didn't lose, no one could stop him. Nagini didn't know where Aurelius' confidence came from, but she was used to believing that everything was under control, making her feel a little lost.
Um...
Aurelius felt a little irritable in his suitcase, which was a reaction to his pre-programmed magic range, "what day is it today? Why did everything come to me as soon as I came out of seclusion." Aurelius muttered and waved his hand to summon the suitcase.
The suitcase vibrated open, and a double-sided mirror popped out.
"Is that the witch you mentioned? A natural legilimens?" Nagini asked curiously.
Aurelius nodded and connected with Queenie.
"Merlin's socks! Thank God, you finally got in touch," Queenie looked eager.
"Have you contacted me?"
"Of course, I've been looking for you for almost a week!" Queenie said happily, patting her heart.
"Don't worry, tell me, what are you looking for me for? Is something going on over there in MACUSA?" Jane asked after Aurelius comforted Queenie.
"Something happened, something big happened!" Queenie took a deep breath and spoke in her unique accent. "I heard from Tina that Grindelwald has been looking for people since he escaped from prison, a large number of Alliance Party members. Entering New York, they almost turned New York upside down. The news from the Magical Congress is that he is looking for you, and you are in danger now!"
Aurelius asked, "Is there more?"
Queenie pursed her lips and said, "I... I saw in Tina's memory that the Ministry of Magic sent a special envoy, Gunnar Grimmson, to the British Ministry of Magic to discuss how to thwart Grindelwald's plan, and my sister was sent to Europe to find you."
"Oh? This is interesting," Aurelius raised his eyebrows. "Grindelwald is looking for me, the Magical Congress is looking for me, and according to your wishes, the British Ministry of Magic is also looking for me... Suddenly, from an article The worthless absconding and smuggling wizard has become the center of attention, and I am not used to it."
"I'm not kidding, my sister has been away from home for almost a week. She is in Paris... You, you are not in Paris, are you?" Queenie suddenly realized something and asked.
"Yes, I'm in Paris."
Queenie opened her mouth, not knowing what to say.
"Hey! It's Mr. Aurelius! Hello, Mr. Aurelius, we meet again! It's unbelievable that you are a wizard." Jacob's figure broke into the double-sided mirror, and he recognized Aurelius at a glance. He saw Aurelius in the mirror and greeted him warmly.
But Aurelius immediately noticed that something seemed wrong with Jacob. He looked distracted, flushed, and had an overly cheerful expression on his face as if he was high. "Hello, Mr. Kowalski."
"Queenie, maybe we need to talk about casting a charm spell on a No-Maj. Do you plan to learn from your sister and change from this boring job?" Aurelius said.
"Oh - what? What spell?"
Jacob smiled naively, his eyes only stayed on Queenie, extremely obsessed.
"Well... I'm sorry, Aurelius, I just remembered that we have to go out. Goodbye," Queenie panicked. The excuse she made was poor.
Aurelius didn't stop her, either.
He was overcome with emotion. He hadn't expected the plot to change so drastically. Queenie still had to cast a spell on Jacob to sustain their relationship, which was deemed unacceptable by society.
Queenie was well aware of the grave consequences if they were discovered.
Her sister Tina had lost her position as an Auror for using magic on a non-magical person and was demoted to the Wand Management Department. If it hadn't been for what happened later, Tina would have been stuck in that dull role for the rest of her life.
However, Tina managed to escape that fate. Not only was she reinstated, but she also accomplished numerous commendable deeds during this time.
Rumors were even floating around in the Magical Congress that this mission to find Credence was the ultimate test for Tina. If she succeeded in locating Credence, she could replace the traitorous Abernathy and Graves and become the first woman in the Magic Congress as well as the youngest female head of the Department of Magical Security.
But what about Queenie? Did she have any luck on her side?
I don't know, but despite the uncertainty, Queenie moved forward with her actions.
They say love makes people blind. For the sake of love, individuals can choose to ignore all risks.
Until now, the reason why a beautiful witch like Queenie fell in love with a seemingly ordinary non-magical man like Jacob remained a mystery in Aurelius's mind.
Love for beauty, talent, and wealth are all comprehensible, but none of those reasons appear to align with Jacob in Aurelius's perspective.
Is it possible that Jacob was Queenie's first experience with a non-magical individual?
You can't help but wonder, can you?
