15.Who Is Kevin?

Second Salem.

A twisted figure emerged, and the courageous and suave Grindelwald appeared. He is in a hurry. He knows very well that the only person who can cause this disaster is Obscurus, but he has not found it yet. But he was also happy, even excited. A dark force capable of destroying half of New York, this Obscurus was more powerful than he expected. He was impatient and couldn't wait to appear in front of him.

But... that useless squib - Credence never contacted him! He even had to learn about tonight's attack from the Magical Congress, which was ridiculous! So what's the point of him wanting that squib? Grindelwald no longer placed his hope on Credence, a useless squib, and wanted to investigate on his own.

If Obscurus shows up tonight, then Second Salem will find something. With his wand in hand, Grindelwald stepped into the gates of Second Salem. Ruins and broken walls. A huge hole appeared in the roof, and Mary's shriveled body lay on the ground. There were low sobbing sounds from the frightened children.

Grindelwald leaned down and looked at the descendant of the Purifier, firmly anti-wizards and Muggles. Of course, he didn't know that Grindelwald paid much attention to a character who was like an ant. But her wounds deserved his attention. "How could it be? It shouldn't be like this..." Grindelwald whispered, full of doubts. He asked himself that few wizards in the world could compare with his understanding of the Obscurus. The circumstances of Mary's death were nothing like he knew.

"Tell me, where is Credence?" Grindelwald looked at Chastity who was blocking the children behind him. The girl was scared, but she mustered up the courage to protect the children who were younger than her. "No, I don't know. Mom is dead, the house collapsed, and I haven't seen Credence since evening," Chastity said timidly.

Grindelwald licked his hair with both hands and couldn't help cursing in his heart: You are an unreliable squib! "Who else is not here?" Grindelwald suppressed his anger and asked Chastity in the gentlest voice in his life. Chastity hesitated for a long time and moved his mouth several times, but no sound came out. The atmosphere became anxious.

"It's Kevin!" Aurelius's voice broke the weird atmosphere. He broke in, gave Chastity a reassuring look, and said to Grindelwald: "Kevin Barebone, I saw a puff of black smoke turn into him..." Upon hearing this, Grindelwald appeared in front of Aurelius almost teleportingly, grabbed his collar, and pushed him against the wall, almost gritting his teeth: "Why didn't you inform me?!"Aurelius bowed his head, still intimidated by Legilimency. Until he learned Occlumency or verified his conjecture, he might never be able to meet Grindelwald's gaze. "I lost track I saw him on the street corner. When he spotted me, fear washed over him, and he transformed into black smoke and vanished almost instantly. I...I even thought I might have misinterpreted what I saw."

"Damn it!" Grindelwald forcefully slapped the wall, causing a cloud of dust to descend.

He glared fiercely at Aurelius. "Credence... you worthless squib! I placed so much trust in you, giving you chance after chance... Do you know what's happened? He's in New York City, wreaking havoc and destroying most of it! And you, the sole witness who has seen him, missed your one opportunity to capture him!"

Aurelius closed his eyes and expressed remorse. "I'm sorry, I will assist you in finding him..."

"You have no chance! You useless squib! I should have recognized it the moment I laid eyes on you! Your ancestors possessed magic, but you lack any magical ability!"

Aurelius leaned against the wall, unbothered. What reason was there for him to feel anger when he already understood something?

He solely saw an enraged dark wizard and an opportunistic careerist.

Many individuals are captivated by Depp's enchanting portrayal, but they can set aside the personal allure associated with the actor.

This character, Grindelwald, is merely an opportunistic careerist.

He required Credence's assistance in locating the Obscurus and, before obtaining it, heartlessly discarded this "squib" who had done so much for him.

Yet, when he discovered that Credence was the true Obscurial, his attitude shifted as if the previous callous words were not his own.

Such fickle conduct from a villain.

Are these the actions and strategies of an ambitious man seeking to overthrow the world?

Perhaps Grindelwald possesses superior combat abilities, or maybe his charisma enables him to gather thousands of supporters.

However, in Aurelius' eyes, he is merely an ambitious careerist with grand aspirations but little talent.

In Rowling's magical world, magic is not the only aspect of significance. Power holds sway over many things, but not every problem can be resolved through force.

Undoubtedly, as a wizard, Grindelwald possesses immense power. However, as a leader and an ambitious individual aspiring to reshape the world, his methods...

Oh well, that's enough.

Aurelius smiled sarcastically as he watched the furious Grindelwald vanish before his eyes.

"Credence, Kevin, who is Kevin?" Chastity approached.

Aurelius shrugged. "How would I know who he is? I was merely speaking nonsense." He nonchalantly removed the pendant hanging around Grindelwald's neck, and the black mist emanating from his palm corroded it entirely, reducing it to useless iron.

"Now that Mom is gone, what should we do?" Chastity voiced her uncertainty regarding the future. Mary was unkind to the children. Although not as cruel to Aurelius, it was common for them to be starved and forced to stand when something went wrong.

Mary was like a heavy burden on the hearts of these hundreds of children. But when she died, the burden disappeared.

Now facing a strange world, these children, who are mostly sixteen years old or younger, are filled with confusion and fear of the unknown.

"What should we do?" Aurelius looked at her and smiled. "Don't worry, we can take good care of them."

Chastity glanced at Aurelius, feeling that something about him seemed different.

Is this still the submissive Aurelius?

However, she was wise and chose not to speak. Her room was on the second floor.

The argument that took place before her mother Mary's death had been kept from her ears. But the little girl was clever; she wouldn't have heard it, and couldn't have heard it.

She was fast asleep, sleeping soundly until she was awakened to discover her home destroyed and her mother dead.

She had never encountered Credence, not since he distributed the flyers that evening...
