Ivan is very worried about his safety. If someone finds out that Ivan Hals, is occupied by a soul from another world, God knows what kind of dark magic is waiting for him.
A thrusting fire right to the face?
Burned to death with fierce fire?
Ivan couldn't help but shudder, thinking about the tragic experience that might happen, trying hard to retrieve the memory of the original body.
He didn't know if it was because of the crossing, but these memories seemed to be shattered and hidden in the depths of his mind, making Ivan's attempts to recall them futile.
"Damn it, if only I could remember more memories," Ivan muttered to himself with a headache. It seems that before the end of the semester, he must learn to sort out his memories; otherwise, it is very likely to be difficult to live..
Ivan doesn't even know where his home is now...
"Harry Potter!"
Just as Ivan's head was occupied with thoughts of entering the restricted book area and learning mind arts to help with his memories, Professor McGonagall's voice drew his attention back to the sorting ceremony.
It wasn't just Ivan; at this moment, all the young wizards and professors turned their eyes to the stage.
A thin, bespectacled young wizard took the stage, applause erupted from below. The second-year Gryffindors next to Ivan clapped so vigorously that their palms turned red, eagerly examining the forehead covered by unruly hair, as if they expected to see the lightning bolt-shaped scar.
"Harry Potter? Is she talking about THAT Harry Potter?"
"My mother said he defeated You Know Who, when he was born!"
"I hope he gets sorted into Gryffindor!"
...
Ivan also joined in the applause to welcome Harry, blending in with the crowd.
Of course, Ivan thought that Harry deserved this honor. After all, Harry's difficult childhood, filled with bullying, stemmed from the loss of his parents.
If not for Lily Potter's protective magic, cast at the cost of her life, which had caused Voldemort to lose his power, the magical world would have witnessed countless deaths...
When they heard that Harry Potter was going to be sorted into Gryffindor, the young wizards in the seats became even more excited. The Weasley twins embraced each other in excitement, exclaiming, "Potter! We have Potter!" The applause from Slytherin was noticeably lighter.
Especially the Slytherin head, seated in the front row, wore an unpleasant expression when he heard that Harry had refused to be sorted into Slytherin.
Ivan observed everything silently, and his lips curled into a small smile, realizing that Harry's aura as the savior still held sway. However, he knew that once people discovered that, aside from his title, Harry Potter was just an ordinary young wizard, they wouldn't care as much.
Ivan mused inwardly but raised his eyes to glance at Dumbledore, who was gazing back at him with bright silver eyes.
Ivan didn't feel any fright. After exchanging smiles with Dumbledore, as though he was well-behaved and shy, he took a large piece of cake, put it in his mouth, and swallowed it in a couple of bites.
Perhaps it was because Ivan had started to eat, or maybe Dumbledore was merely in a whimsical mood, but after returning the smile, the greatest wizard of all time shifted his gaze elsewhere. Maybe it was just a coincidence that he looked at Ivan ..or so Ivan hoped
After the Sorting Ceremony concluded, there was still ample time for the young wizards to eat. Ivan had eaten his fill and was no longer hungry, and Dumbledore waved his wand to vanish the remaining food.
The table filled with food disappeared without a trace, just as it had suddenly appeared earlier.
The magic was second nature to the more advanced wizards, but for Ivan, who had just truly experienced magic for the first time, it was still a novelty.
At this point, Dumbledore rose slowly. The eyes of everyone in the hall followed Dumbledore's actions.
"Since we've all had our fill and are sated, allow me to share a few more words. I will now make a few important announcements for the start of the school year."
Dumbledore's voice resonated through the hall as he glanced over the new students beneath the stage, and then looked toward the Weasley brothers.
"New students, please pay special attention: the woods on the school grounds are strictly off-limits to students. I believe senior students should be aware of this rule."
"Our caretaker, Mr. Filch, asks me to remind you that the use of magic is prohibited in the corridors between classes."
"The Quidditch tryouts will be held in the second week..."
After briefly reviewing the standard semester rules, Dumbledore paused for a moment before raising his voice once more.
"Lastly, I must warn you that anyone who wishes to avoid a tragic fate should avoid the third-floor corridor on the right for the entirety of this year!"
Ivan couldn't help but comment on Dumbledore's cryptic warning. He emphasized how dangerous it was but failed to provide any additional information or reasons why students shouldn't enter. It left many inquisitive young wizards unable to resist their curiosity.
Indeed, Dumbledore's stern warning seemed to have had little impact on the students. A few freshmen even laughed indifferently, but the older students looked more solemn.
Of course, this didn't apply to the two Weasley brothers, who appeared serious. They seemed to be secretly discussing something. Ivan suspected that they might be planning to venture into the corridor that Dumbledore had warned against.
Ivan believed that Dumbledore would likely speak to them in person beforehand or have Mr. Filch keep an eye on them to prevent any reckless actions.
