The Aftermath

Pulses of magic travelled the earth. Every being, wizards, squibs, muggles, animals, nature, even the ancient forces slumbering on the earth and in its vicinity, they all knew that something happened. But only those with a deep immersion in magic, those very sensitive to magic, or those very knowledgeable knew what was going on.

'woooom'

Sebastian was forcefully awoken from his thoughts after talking to Professor Krieg, who still stood next to him. Something happened.

He looked at the professor, just to see him cringe and pale because of his speculations and the indications the pulse of magic conveyed.

"Gotta go. Something happened. Your summer trip is herby cancelled.", Theodore hastily said and rushed out of the room, probably to talk to the other professors.

Loud laughter resounded throughout the dark and dreary castle. In an empty tower, hidden and defended by an uncountable number of wards, enchantments, and rituals, an old and skinny man, fed only by the remainders of his small amount of accessible magic and a few crumbs of bread and drops of water, left to him by his old friend, Grindelwald laughed.

Nobody could help him, nobody could enter. Until now, the only way to get any information was by talking to the rare visitors of the Germany ministry of magic or a few Austrian wizards, along with a few faculty members of the Blackwald Institute of magic.

To get at least some form of revenge against his former boyfriend, he taught them all he knew, revitalizing the knowledge of the German wizarding community after its former downfall.

But now, now he was able to clearly feel the magic. The magic he was deprived of, and it told him what occurred. It was magnificent but scary how strong War Wizards could be in the current age. Of only he could return to power, but alas, he was trapped and had no chance to return to his former might.

Though it seems that now, he should finally take an own discipline. An heir to defeat Dumbledore and let the world progress without restrictions! To lead wizardkind to new heights as he planned to do!

Grindelwald chuckled and murmured a few words that would have instilled dread inside many old wizards and witches, "It seems I should contact my old friends and let them find my possible heir!"

-Back in the hood

Over the next few days, the atmosphere inside the castle was tense. Everyone was barred from exiting, professors did not talk, and there was a certain rush in the air. House elves, formerly hidden from sight were seen apparating around, levitating luggage, destroying enchantments, and snapping at students if they made a mess and gave them extra work, which was something no one thought possible.

On the third days, the news were finally leaked.

Paris was destroyed, a whole city either disappeared or withered away. Every living being inhabiting it, or the close surroundings died. Two million and one hundred thousand muggles. Three thousand wizards and witches. One sixth of the French wizarding population, which was still ravaged from the last war, died and many foreign visitors and workers with them. It was the largest mass death of wizards since the massacres the Japanese committed en masse during the second world war. It was nothing big to one of the largest killings committed by Genghis Khan, who killed three hundred thousand wizards and witches, collecting, torturing, and breeding them for years to show his greatness. He was one of the strongest Dark Lords in existence.

The reason for that wasn't some large fight between armies of skilled wizards and witches but was brought upon the world by only two individuals! Sebastian was shocked to learn about this development and his determination to become the strongest wizard only grew.

Dumbledore and Louise Delacour! Two war wizards, one of whose deaths was confirmed, while nobody knew anything about Dumbledore.

Every wizarding community was shocked, and the other War Wizards were seen in public to reassure their own communities while countries without a protecting War Wizard panicked and replanned their future. Only one war wizards would be able to uplift them to one of the leading countries, but unfortunately, that was not very common. The muggles panicked too, since it had been a long time ago that a whole city had been wiped out by wizards as a reaction to the atomic bomb in Japan.

Then, only one day later, a French wizard called Charles Delacour proclaimed himself a new War Wizard and proved his might by revitalizing Paris, or at least what remained of it. The French were angry but had no other chance but to follow their new War Wizard and his decisions which were far to pro Dumbles to not be suspicious.

One week later, every student was called to a field out in the open, but the reason for this sudden call was unknown.

Upon reaching the lawn, the students stood in clean rows, presenting their badges and themselves to the gathered faculty and Ministry workers present.

"Welcome, students.", the female minister of Magic welcomed them.

"There are several reasons for todays gathering which are going to be very important for our and your future.", she started.

"As you might have heard, a large incident happened in Paris. This incident, along with other happenings inside school have led us to believe that it is time to relocate our school and update our curriculum. From now on, you are going to be taught by progress and not year, therefore you might find yourself together with second or even sixth year students. You may go on difficult missions to hone your skills, but be warned, you would willingly endanger your life. Then, we will be teaching everyone more Occlumency, starting from the second year and the evaluations are going to be stricter as well. After seeing the consequences, the understanding of our world has on our spells and magic, along with the creation of new and more complex spells, you will have to take mandatory courses and chose a field to focus on. The schools of strength and progress will be partially fused, and you will be working together to explore and learn about a field of your choosing."

Murmur broke out among the students, most of which were excited to hear about the prospect of learning new stuff and maybe being able to learn what they wanted, though most of their expectations were thwarted by the next words.

"Of course, you will have to hand in your own papers and research, notes and experiences, as well as new ideas and spells you come up with."

"Ohhh", dejected sighs went came from the students.

"Now to the final piece of news. A former War Wizard and avid supported of our country will is currently researching and teaching himself our new findings. After the next year of school, he is going to choose a personal discipline and heir, whom he will be teaching personally after that. He is going to chose someone with a formidable talent for combat, but the deciding factor is going to be the progress you make in the following year. Therefore, do not fret. If you show large potential, you might just get the chance to learn under a War Wizard. And if you impress him but aren't chosen, he might tutor you for a few days."

Silence pervaded the air, and every student held their breath. They could get the chance to learn under a former War Wizard! If they got this chance, they strength and chances for the future would soar! The only person a bit salty about this new information was Sebastian, who had the suspicion that this former War Wizard was no one else but Grindelwald himself! Nonetheless, it could still be a great chance. It seemed like there was one more reason to become stronger quickly during the next year.

The minister of magic turned around and left with some of the faculty members, walking back to the castle, leaving the students to talk amongst themselves.

Any wishes for villains/challenges/plot?

Please comment of errors or loopholes.

Remember, it is my first ff, so don't expect too much.

There will be chapters on Saturday/Sunday, depending on the power stones from now on.

50 = 1 Chapter on Saturday

100 = +1 Chapter on Sunday

200 = Additional bonus chapter

It was difficult to decide on how to continue, but I think I somewhat managed it.

Any suggestions?

No Chapter tomorrow as there were <100 stones. I will still write it though but hold it back for now.
