Cuteness Overload!

'I need more supplies'

Those were the drowsy Camellia's first thoughts of the day after looking at her almost empty bag of fruit.

It has been three days since she had first begun trying to make the 'Black-Flame Wood Mask' and had still had little success with minimal progress. Not to mention she had run out of spare scrap wood! Since she arrived at the farm and decided to stay in the barn, she had set up 'safety parameters' for where people would most likely be walking based on how weathered paths and items were. (***I'm so smart~)

All this time, she had been finding the wood scraps within this parameter she set, but now her golden junkyard has run dry!

'I bet the city has started to calm down a little by now at least...'

She said this while stretching her limbs in a cute manner, she then took a big bite from the last extra ripe fruit that she had found at the bottom of the burlap bag.

'I'll go get more of this fruit and maybe find out about how the city is doing while I'm at it.'

Getting in the way again?! NOPE! I won't listen this time!

After receiving her mission from Mona, Camellia quickly climbed down the ladder and started sneakily navigating her way around the dark corners of the farm. It was well into the morning at this point and you could hear the streets starting to become busy in the distance. This would normally be concerning, but farmers tend to start work as early in the morning as they can, then work their way through their chores throughout the day. Camellia had noticed when the buff elderly farmer would walk by her safety parameter and assumed that by this point in the day, he should be tending to crops.

'If he's tending to the crops, then he won't be in the barns which is good but...'

<The barns might also be empty because he hasn't tended to the fields yet>

'Right... Gah! This would be so much more simple if you just let me eat meat!'

<That so~? Tell me then, how would you go about cooking that meat dear~? Your fire burns everything to ash, so I hope you weren't planning on using that~>

She... she got me...

Learning from her previous mistake, instead of simply opening the barn doors and running in, this time she quickly jumped to look through the window that was slightly taller than her to check for beasts first... then opened the doors and ran in... And saw a cute, but large rabbit-like beast with a saddle hung up on the wall beside it.

'Damn... I'm... stupid aren't I?'

***IF YOU KNOW IT THEN STOP!

Luckily, this time the beast was tied up and behind stable doors, so she didn't have to go through with killing this somewhat cute looking giant rabbit.

'I could do it if needed, but if it was a bunny, I don't think I'd be able to go through with it...'

After thinking of the gruesome possibility, she shed a single tear and lightly shivered at the thought of having to kill a cute bunny with her own hands. She then suddenly noticed what looked like a feeder that was slightly distanced away from the rabbit-beast, and quickly started walking towards it.

"Squeak squeak!"

The previously restless rabbit-beast suddenly let out a loud squeaking sound while thrashing about in it's pen. The sight of a small beast-kin walking towards it's precious food supply seems to have pissed it off!

'Not good...'

Noticing the impending danger, Camellia hurriedly checked the food inside the feeder only to realize...

<Is that meat?! THAT HORNED BASTARD!>

'MEAT?! HE MADE THAT (kinda)CUTE THING A CARNIVORE?!'

<Hm~?>"Hm?"

***Did they just...

Nono... There's no way right?

'We didn't just agree, did we Miss Mona?'

<On the fact that that horned bastard should pay for making this (kinda)cute thing eat that disgusting meat? Think we did>

I.... I think I'm gonna throw up...

Suddenly the thrashing of the rabbit got louder as the bone hinges holding the stable door started to bend. At the same time, not noticing the thrashing sound getting louder, the confused and heart broken Camellia slowly stood up, with her hair covering her face.

The rabbit finally had broken the stable door and quickly jumped out of it's pen, stopping mere moments away from the little pink Beast-kin after seeing a stream of tears dropping from her eyes.

'I... *sniffle* I agreed with....'

"Wuuuaaaaaa!!!" ***Ok... I know you're prideful but did you really start crying simply because you agreed with her? I mean... You've agreed with her before, no?

'I only agreed out of necessity! Or because she said the obvious! But this time it was on something opinion based... our ethics lined up... My ethics lined up with that succubus demoness evil spirit....'

<I can hear you, you know?"

Clearly not paying attention to her surroundings due to her ethical struggle, Camellia failed to notice the panicking rabbit in front of her tear filled eyes.

'CUTE! WHAT HAVE I DONE!? WAS IT ME?! I DIDN'T MEAN TOO!! I'M SORRY! WHY ARE YOU CRYING?! ARE YOU HUNGRY?? YOU ARE HUNGRY RIGHT!!'

The rabbit beast hopped past Camellia and picked up what it thought to be delicious food and presented it to her. The sobbing girl slightly opened her eyes only to see a hog-sized rabbit sitting in front of her on all fours with a good looking fish in its mouth.

'DAMMIT IT IS CUTE!'

She violently started shaking her head in refusal and panic, which ultimately made poor rabbit-san even more nervous.

YOU DON'T LIKE IT?! BUT IT'S SUCH A GOOD PIECE! IS MEAT NO GOOD??? FRUIT? FRUIT MAYBE?

***Why is this rabbit so smart?

The rabbit then quickly ran away towards the back of the barn and started rustling around, causing crashing and breaking sounds.

'Cute... It's cute... I curse the creator... but if I do that then I've given into evil... am I the devil? These ears do look like horns...'

<Is it really that bad to agree with me dear~? Just accept that we both think he's done this creature a misdeed, and your ears are cute!>

'I truly am the devil... putrid... I should just die...'

The rabbit finally returned holding a large pouch in its mouth, only to drop it in front of Camellia, causing the bag to open up like a picnic blanket, making carrot-like fruits roll about on the ground in front of the sobbing balled up loli.

Camellia had noticed the fruit and simply stared at it with glistening, shocked and teary eyes then slowly looked back at the rabbit as her sobbing had seemed to have stopped.

FRUIT! YOU LIKE FRUIT RIGHT?!

She looked back down at the carrot like fruit, and started to lightly inspect them only to realize;

'It... brought what I wanted?'

<Of course it did! When a cute girl like you cries anything and everything should naturally want to spoil you~>

'So... it did this because of you..?'

<Technically I guess it did? Why?>

'It's all her fault...'

NOT FRUIT EITHER?? BAD!! THIS IS BAD!!

The rabbit once again quickly turned around, but this time Camellia noticed something off about it.

'Is that... A Dolphin's tail?'

Suddenly feeling the depressed girl rise a bit from the ground, the Rabbit-beast couldn't help but turn around in haste to see what was wrong. Which, in doing so revealed that it had a fin further down on it's back and webbed back paws as well as the dolphin's tail.

*sniffle*

WHAT?! WHAT'S WRONG?! WHY ARE YOU CRYING AGAIN!?

'It's ok... It's...'

"Not cute anymore~"

As she said this, it was as if the morning's sun was rising from behind her, as a gentle and relieved smile seemed to have sprouted from her once depressed face. From her closed, teared eyes, to her blossom pink coloured soft smile, the cuteness and beauty was overwhelming. In fact, too much so!

Too... Beautiful... I feel as though I have now lived my best life. There is nothing else in this world for me to see or discover as I have already explored it all within this one child's smile... This... is the end for me.

*poomf*

The large rabbit-beast elegantly fell to its side with a single tear running down it's cheek as it's soul slowly left it's body, making a light sound that was comparable to falling into a pile of angel's feathers.

So long... I hope to see you in heaven, sweet angel... bleh.
