As dawn broke, the sunlight softly filtered through the curtains, lighting up Lady Clarissa's room. Sir Redlic and Talon were already there, in deep talk with the lady and her maid about what had happened the night before.
Sir Alistair, on the other hand, opted to stay outside the room, leaning against the wall. He was reluctant to cross the threshold and become part of the conversation inside.
Simply because he had a strong feeling that this matter should be left discussed among the select few behind closed doors. And besides, he was not eager to ruin his morning by catching a glimpse of Lady Clarissa's face.
Sir Redlic was seated on a couch, his back straight and shoulders squared, as he was in the presence of a member of the royal family.
His hands were clasped together and rested upon his lap. Standing behind him was Talon, looking attentive to act upon any command.
