Clearly, she was trying to say something earlier, but since she played it off as if she didn't say anything, Mikael brushed it off.

"Are you heading back to your room?" Aurel asked, trying to shift the conversation in a different direction. When Mikael nodded, she happily suggested, "I am heading the same way. Let's walk together!"

Simultaneously, Aurel grabbed onto Mikael's arm, plastering a bright grin on her face, as they strolled down the corridor back to his master room.

"These days, it's safer to have someone with you. You should have an escort, sister-in-law," Aurel opened, breaking the silence between them.

"...Like a personal knight?" inquired Mikael, raising an eyebrow.

"Yep!" Aurel nodded enthusiastically. "It's better to be safe than sorry, right?"

As her words registered in Mikael's mind, his thoughts drifted to Talon, who had been his loyal friend and knight for years.
