Chapter 5

Song Jia was still pondering where in the world she currently was and what were the person who saved her need from her. She was once been stabbed in the back by her trusted Organization and it would hurt to be suspicious of everything just to be able to survive. She decided that she needs to gather information about where she is and if she could escape from the people who saved her, she tried to get out of the bed and see what she could find but she wasn't even able to move a finger when without any signs her head suddenly ached terribly! she crouched down in bed and held her head tight. It hurts so much that tears are again steadily falling from her eyes. The pain was like no other, even the body ache she felt the moment she woke up was not the same as the pain this time.

Her head felt like it was being pounded by thousand of tons of hammers with the intent to split her head apart! A small groan had escaped from her lips, she really cannot continue with this pain! she was about to call for help when the pain instantaneously disappeared, Jia was again stupefied by these events, she thought, what's with not letting me speak a single word before anything happens?! why?!

While in the middle of lamenting, tons of images suddenly flashes in her mind, her eyes lost its focus and the next thing she new was that she was in a dark space and a large screen-like projection of an image was in front of her.

From the screen-like projection, she saw a small 7-8 yr old child smiling, and just from a young age, you can already see that she would be a beauty fought over by lots of people when she grow up. The child was wearing a cute ancient Chinese attire and was being assisted by another cute little child in an ancient maid outfit, they were both walking across a beautiful and colorful flower garden with a path made from pebbles, tree branches could be seen swaying gently from every step made of the duo and was providing shade for them as if shielding the two from the heat of what looks like a sunny spring. The two girls were happily treading the path while giggling every now and then whenever the girl in a maid outfit says something when a little boy with the same height of the duo and two little girls larger and taller than them blocked their way.

the newly arrived group could be seen from the screen sneering at the two girls and were pointing at them and seemed to be saying something mean to the two as the child in the maid outfit could be seen clenching her hands and was secretly glaring at the three people that blocked their way.

Song Jia's brows knitted from what she's witnessing, she had already forgotten to question where and why was she in a foreign space and was instead immersed in what she was watching, she had even forgotten to question why she was watching such a seen in the first place.

--Are they really kids? How could they all look so mean?

suddenly one of the mean girls pushed the pretty girl and the other one began to throw pebbles on them, the little maid immediately used her body to block the stones from hitting her master. the kids laugh giddily while throwing stones at two and were only satisfied and left when they saw that the maid was bleeding from different parts of her body.

Watching this scene Jia was shocked, she didn't even realized how wide open her mouth was at the moment! she had once again been enlighten on how cruel people are, together with disbelief, her gaze suddenly darken at what she had witnessed, she did not know if what she's watching was real but one thing is for sure, the world could be as cruel as any hell there could be. just look at these kids, they were still young yet they're actually laughing even if they were just about to almost kill another person! how disgusting!

She suddenly remembered how her organization just treated her. thinking about it further worsen her mood, she had decided then and there to definitely take revenge against those people! she promised herself to turn that organization down and proclaim it as her life mission!

Being distracted, Jia's attention was brought back to what she was watching when she suddenly heard an ear piercing beep sound awakening every cell she had on her body-- I think?-- she flinched from the annoying sound although it only lasted for a second, she then brought her attention back to the screen-like projector but she was astonished to discover that she was back to the room where she was before.

Question marks could be seen floating around her as she was deeply confused about what was happening, while pondering about the recent events, suddenly loads and loads of seemingly pictures and videos burst into Song Jia's mind, at first it felt painful but the pain gradually disappeared as the images got clearer. She discovered that theses where memories of another being, they were not of her own, they're from a different person. The pretty young lady looked familiar for a split second then realization suddenly hit her as she remembered the young child she just saw a while ago from the screen-like projector!

So was these that person's memories?... but why was it appearing in my mind?

She then tried to recall the memories in order to see if she could gather any clues. The child that was now a young lady in the memories was called Bai Xing Hua, which means as white as a star flower, she was from an influential and powerful family, born from a concubine. Her mother died from giving birth to her and from then on her life was never better. She was neglected by her father and was being scheme against and bullied by the main wife and daughter of the family ever since she could remember and only her nanny and it's daughter were left behind by her mother and was the only people that really took care of her and accompany her but it also didn't escape the scheming of her stepmother in the end and her nanny died just before she could even left the mansion, leaving it's only daughter and her bestfriend to be the only companion of Bai Xing Hua, she really wanted to avenge her but she knew she cannot do anything about it and therefore decided to not waste her life and spend the rest of her life positively despite everything.

Seeing up to this point, Song Jia felt sympathetic for Bai Xing Hua, her being helpless really struck a cord in her heart as she also grew up as an orphan, and life is really harsh and cruel especially for a lone child.

She continued to review the memories of Bai Xing Hua. She discovered that the young lady was already married to an official and it was thru an imperial decree, an arrange marriage, she was sent by her family as a substitute for her older sister just because they didn't want her to suffer from the hands of the groom as rumors has it that he wouldn't pardon even a women when he was annoyed, it was said that a young lady who had proposed to him once of marriage was sent to a torture chamber and had her face deformed! making the young lady lose her chance of marrying into another good family in the future! Heh! No matter how could his position was in the government, whose family was crazy enough to send their beloved daughters to hells door? Unluckily after several scheming of the officials in the government, the offer has landed onto the hands of Official Bai's Family who was well known for its abundance of pretty daughters, well who told him to fill up the walls of the Bai Residence with females and only having 3 sons? Therefore it was decided that a daughter from the Bais would be sent as a bride on the auspicious date.

Several had hinted that the daughter should be the first lady of the Bais as it would be an honor for her to marry the Grand Advisor of the Court and she was considered as one of the top 5 beauties of the entire Country! But Official Bai thought otherwise, why would he send her most precious daughter to the hands of a cruel monster? so they had instead decided to send the most unusable one, yep you've read it right, UNUSABLE --> Bai Xing Hua.

They had at least notified her that she would be wed to someone honorable and that she should be grateful to it but to whoever she would be wed with, that is another thing. Bai Xing Hua didn't even get a single clue of who the person she would be marrying was but what else could she do aside from marrying the person they have chosen. But by heaven's will and the hands of fate, she was still able to figure out who her husband-to-be would be! and it was someone whom she always dreamt to be with forever!

But such happiness was soon replaced with mourning as this news was obtained at the cost of her nanny's life! After knowing that it was the Grand Advisor whom Bai Xing Hua would be marrying, her nanny had decided to make a plea to the head of the family in view of her late mistress but she was just scoff at and was instead flagged by wooden planks for twenty strikes! Although not everyone would die with such punishment and some would just be bedridden for months and worst case, being crippled for the rest of their lives but the men who were assigned to flogged her had used all their strength with each strike!

--truly cruel!...

It was too late when Bai Xing Hua discovered this, her nanny was already on her last breath when she heard the news. She felt so remorseful and powerless at that moment she had wished that she could avenge her nanny somehow one day and make those people who tormented them suffer, but even before those ugly emotions could bloom her nanny had advised her otherwise and instead told her about the last will and memento her late mother had left, she was about to give it to her before her wedding but it seems that she would not be able to do so anymore... so her nanny still used her last breath for her...

After her nanny died, Bai Xing Hua and Xi Ran, the daughter of her late nanny, promised that they would honor her nanny's last wishes and will live for each other no matter what. As the nanny has died in an untimely manner, where only a few days were left before the wedding, they have thought that Bai Xing Hua would rebel because of it therefore they had locked her up in her room with only a meal a day. Contrary to their speculations, Bai Xing Hua had remain quiet during the remaining days before the wedding. She had decided to just go along with their plan just to finish all the nonsense they have been brewing up. Although she's kinda nervous and happy about her wedding, she just couldn't still shake off the feeling of bitterness out of her mind... But she had promised her nanny to live happily therefore she had decided to welcome her wedding day with full of smiles.

Jia was speechless at this moment, she hadn't expected such a drama-like story to be the memories of a person...

--is this really memories of someone? could it be that these were just one of the dramas that I used to watch but forgot? or it could also be one of the plots of the stories i've read before and i'm just confusing reality with fiction after falling from that thousand meter drop??

But keeping aside the confusion, if this person truly exist... At this point I don't know if the girl actually lucky or just the unfortunate being that was being played by fate... To think that she actually married the guy she like so much when her family thought that they had sent her to somewhere she'd definitely suffer and gotten her only family be killed in the process... totally speechless... Jia admired Bai Xing Hua a little bit after learning about her story, unfortunately, her husband didn't loved her back and mostly ignores her, though he didn't mistreats nor tried to torture her like how the rumors was before the wedding but despite all of these, Bai Xing Hua still loves her husband greatly as she was still willingly serving her husband with all her heart since the day they married. One time, when they were peacefully eating dinner ( which I emphasize just happened once after all those 4 years that they have been) an assassination took over and she was struck by a poisonous arrow just to save her husband.

Jia's mouth was so wide open that it might actually touch the ground at how dumfounded she is with her story, she couldn't believe how much did Bai Xing Hua loved her husband, despite him not loving her back, she still used her life just to save him?!

--What the heck? Whatta life!

it was at this moment that the door in the room burst open and a group of people suddenly entered the room. Jia was shock but then became alerted with the number of people that entered, she looked around and look for anything she could use as a weapon but only a hard pillow was near so she grabbed it hastily and put it behind her back. she looked at the people entering and her gaze stop onto a familiar figure, it was the person who left her a while ago! But why does it suddenly feels like we've known each other since before?

"What is this?" Song Jia asked the person before cautiously .

The person being questioned paused when she saw how her mistress looked at her, she never saw her with such a cold and indifferent gaze, she was scared and shocked, she couldn't believed that her mistress could reveal such a look!

"the-they came to check upon you mistress" she said while stuttering a little, and looked at another person with the same attire as her for help.

Mistress? Jia thought, but before she could ponder on this she heard another person spoke

"Please relax your highness, We have just invited Imperial Physician Jing to do a check on you" another person echoed authoritatively, this was the person the maid was looking at a while ago.

Jia looked at the person who spoke and she was intimidated by how she looks at her, the lady's eyes were so cold looking that not even a single speck of emotion could be reflected on them, this sent chills at Song Jia's back, though it was what she was thinking, her face and action said otherwise, she looked at the lady back with the same intimidation, this shocked the lady and a flash could be seen in her eyes for a mere split seconds as it was hidden immediately. Song Jia saw this but her mind was preoccupied by another thing at the moment, 'your highness?' what was that supposed to mean? did she became a royalty overnight?

"Imperial Physician Jing please"

This line brought Song Jia back to reality, she saw that the intimidating lady motioned for a middled age man wearing an ancient-looking white and flowy dress, Jia looked at the person cautiously.

--coule these people be the group that saved me from that river? So they have called a physician to check onto my condition, make sense... but what mistress? why 'her highness?!'

The person called Imperial Physician Jing gathered his materials and went closer to Song Jia, even though this was a doctor they have brought to check for her well-being but it wouldn't to hurt to try and intimidate the person by increasing her aura and the pressure she has, but while doing so she was suddenly at lost at such a discovery--- The heck?! did I just lost all my cultivation?! why can't I feel the power course through my meridians???

Seeing the panic and lost expression on Jia's face the servant girl that called all the people a while ago felt her heart ache, 'mistress might have been scared and just confused a while ago *sighs*'

"Mistress it would be fine, trust me! Imperial Physician Jing is the best in the entire empire! i'm sure you'll get better with him here!" and she ended it with a warm smile directed to Song Jia

Hearing this, Song Jia was again pulled back to reality, she looked at the petite girl that talk and she felt that this person really, really look so familiar. she continued looking at her until the physician neared her and held her wrist with a thin cloth and began to check her pulse.

Song Jia's attention was caught by how the physician was treating her, she thought that his technique was way too backward for the current her, 'isn't this how they do it back in the Han Dynasty?'

the physician just observed her pulse and check her breathing pattern and went back to look at the intimidating lady whispering something to her, this could have been something ignorable for Song Jia but then she heard that she was called 'Miss Bai'? wait wasn't this the same last name of the person she was seeing in her mind? Song Jia was so confused at the moment that she had already forgotten how she was planning to escape.

"mistress... how are you feeling?"

She looked at the person who asked her, dumfounded.

AH! Looking at her now suddenly made her realized why she looked so much familiar and felt closer to her all of a sudden! Did she just transmigrated to the body of another person in another era?

She could feel her mini self inside her mind crying with this sudden discovery. Does this mean my past self had alread died? And I didn't even went to heaven first but straight up here?! Why?!! Ahhhhh!
