Chapter 5 ~Abandoned Lands II~

After Ben and Luca went through the portal they were suddenly standing in a white room with sofas and chairs. People were sitting on them and watching the live broadcast on the many TVs.

When they entered some looked away from the TVs to look at them but then quickly looked back at the TVs like something important was going on.

Ben and Luca went over to one of the many sofas sat down and watched what was playing on the TV. It was a live broadcast of the quests ongoing all over the world.

A middle-aged man with red hair and a strong build who sat to their left murmured.

"The guys in America are decent aren't they?"

"Huh were you talking to us?"

"Oh no I was just speaking to myself"

"Ok, can I ask a question?"

"Yes I like questions"

"Where are you from?"

"Oh that's a boring question but ok. I am from England and where are you from?"

"We are from Germany"

"Ah you were the two the guys who beat up the 10 people in front of the portal"

"Yes, we are how do you know?"

"It was broadcasted just a few minutes ago"

And so they both understood what was going on here. They then both properly introduced themself and the man followed after. His name is Eddie, and he was a Military Officer before the 'the game' began. Luca and Ben said that they were students and that a friend of theirs is still in the Quest. While listening to Eddie Luca became curious about something.

"Ah mister what is this game you were talking about?"

"Oh it is just the name everyone uses to describe what's going on you know"

"That means we're just characters for these mythic beings doesn't it Luca"

"I mean you could say so, but we are still different from video game characters"

"Why is that?"

"Because we know that people watch us game characters don't know that"

Eddie listened to Luca's explanation and slowly said to Ben.

"Hey your friend is a really smart guy you should stick to him"

Ben frowned and said "Hey just so you know I am pretty smart too"

Then the channel on the TV switched and Brühl was shown to get more specific a young man and a young woman who was running were shown. Suddenly the woman grabbed the arm of the man running beside her and threw him into a wall. Some people who were watching the same broadcast started celebrating like something fun was going on.

Ben and Luca were shocked by the man and the woman who were Anton and Karen, so why would Karen do that? They both couldn't think of a reason for her to do this, but then Karen formed a dagger in her hand and stood there. Anton who was still lying on the floor said something to her, but they couldn't hear him. Ben screamed at Anton and Luca was biting his fingertips they both knew Anton and know that he could never harm a fly.

But to their surprise, Anton stood up and without a second to spare came flying towards Karen who was surprised at his actions it was not just her both Ben and Luca were surprised by Anton's actions. Because of the surprise attack, Karen could not fully avoid Anton's hand which was engulfed with fire forming a fire sword, and he cut off her arm. Karen's screams were even heard in the white room and some people were shocked by what Anton did next. But before that happened both Ben and Luca were stunned by him.

"Hey, Ben isn't that the fire Sword skill? I didn't know that could use it that well already"

"Yeah me neither but the important thing is that he is still alive, and he can now take her with him, and we can question her"

Before Luca could answer a terrible scream was heard from the screen as they both looked at it, they could see Anton's hand piercing through Karen's heart. The room was quiet it seems no one expected it to and in this way, not even Ben and Luca. The first to say something was a woman in her mid-twenties "So he just played the weak role to kill the poor little girl". Ben wanted to say that the girl acted first but the Eddie beside him was faster "Hey you stop saying such dumb shit you obviously didn't watch it, the woman threw him into the wall first and pulled a dagger what was he supposed to do?"

After that, a hearty discussion broke out on whose fault it was, but that didn't bother both Ben and Luca they were still looking at the screen. They just couldn't believe that Anton killed a person so merciless the first to say something was Luca.

"Let's ask Anton why he did that when he is in the white room I believe that he had his reasons"

"His reasons? The Anton I knew would not have done that but let's hear it from him when he goes through the portal"

Then it hit them both like a lightning bolt, you need two people to go through the portal what's Anton gonna do now?

Anton slowly opened his eyes and looked at the white wall above him.

"Huh, where am I this isn't my bed no this is not even my room!"

He then began to recall what happened before he went to sleep.

"Oh shit, what's the time now I haven't overslept the teleport have I?"

He started to search for his phone it wasn't in his pocket nor was it lying on the bed, so he jumped out of the bed to search for it.

"Argh Dutch it still hurts I need to find a doctor quickly No first I need to find my phone"

He searched through the whole room but could not find it as he was about to leave the room and continue searching he looked back and saw a little black block lying under the pillow. The black block resembled a phone in many ways, so he walked over and picked the pillow up, and tada there was his phone. He pressed the home button and the screen went on as he saw the numbers he also saw the countdown flying outside in the sky. It was 4 pm, and he still had two hours left.

After he saw the time and the countdown Anton began to arrange his mind.

"Phew I was lucky this time I need to be more cautious from now on I can't allow oversleeping and what I need to be especially aware of are humans the only ones I can trust are Ben and Luca and maybe him too, but we will see that later"

Wait for what do I even have these coins if I can't buy anything? Anton thought that and asked the system the question.

A portal was forming before him it was blue just like his friends had said it and without hesitation, he walked into it.

As he walked out of the portal he heard the welcome message from the system, and he felt many eyes looking at him people were sitting and lying on sofas and chairs and some others were standing in groups and a young woman was even training. But Anton couldn't see his friends while looking through the room a young man with red hair was glaring at him and Anton thought to himself I didn't do anything why is he glaring at me?

At that moment the guy started sprinting forward his friend tried to stop him, but they failed. Now the guy was an arm's length from Anton away, and before he could do anything he got punched in the face. Anton fell to the ground and looked at the guy standing before him.

"Hey, you man why did you push me? I didn't do anything to you."

"No you didn't do anything to me, but you killed your companion and I hate bastards like you who do such a thing"

"What how did you see that were you there? Why didn't you help me then?"

Anton was now screaming at the young man standing before him the man was about the same age as him, but he was taller, and he had bigger muscles and he was injured. Anton knew he would lose this battle he looked around the room but no one was helping him. They looked at him like it was his fault. Now the young man got angry and screamed.

"What help you? Why should I do that you killed the girl if I was there I would have helped her"

As the man was about to punch him again a bolt of lightning hit him and a message was heard from the system.

{Fighting in the white room is prohibited Player Tim is given his first warning and 3000 Coins will be sent to Player Anton for compensation. When a player gets three warnings all their stats will be reduced in half}

Anton smiled at that message the people didn't help him, but the system helped him. Then he got a message.

Anton clicked on yes and a window like the Status window opened itself there he clicked on the search bar and soon found what he was looking for was a skill.

The skill cost me a lot but now my body can finally heal, and I don't need to find a doctor. Anton thought that the body of the man who punched him got transported away by his friends. After that Anton sat on a sofa where the young woman who was training before was sitting now. The woman had long brown hair and was wearing a black and red combat suit. As he sat down the woman said to him.

"Don't get your head too full of the Idiot there he is just overly righteous it was obvious that you two weren't comrades"

"Oh, thank you I am Anton, and you?"

"Huh why are you thanking me I didn't do anything and why should I give you my name?"

Anton didn't know what to say next he just stared at the TV screen before him and he now knew how the guy could know what he did. There was a broadcast going on which showed the things happening. Suddenly he thought did Ben and Luca see what I did? Will they hate me now are they the same as the man before? No, they are my friends, and if they saw what happened they won't think like that. Before Anton could think any longer a message appeared.

~The quest is now over all participants will be teleported to the abandoned lands and the first level will star~

And then a new portal appeared where the old portal was.
