Chapter 16
“What about a vampire?” Randy asks as he digs in gleefully into his stew. “I’m feeling vampire tonight.”
Mica shifts in place, thinking. “I don’t think I know anything about vampires though.”
“You can learn if you want to,” Ollie says with a shrug. He dips a liver into the sauces left in the pan. “We can teach you.”
“Can we?” Mica asks. She’s looking at Wes. “When we—you search for the necromancer.”
“I don’t see why not,” Wes says and he looks to Ollie to confirm. Ollie nods and Wes askes Mica and Randy, “Would you like a specific order or to take them as they come?”
Randy doesn’t say anything, waiting patiently for Mica to make up her mind. He isn’t all that helpful when she looks at him, probably for an opinion, but he seems distracted by his food. Wes doesn’t buy it. Randy is a very good friend, and, from a certain perspective, maybe more, but this is Mica’s decision and he recognizes that.
Mica, however, isn’t saying anything.
