Thinking of this made Darui sigh.
"Hey, Mabui, say something! You're the only one who can talk sense into Raikage-sama!"
Oh, but Mabui isn't here.
Darui felt a headache coming on.
Raikage and all that, so annoying.
…
By nightfall, the pain in Naruto's body had eased a little, but the sharp pain hadn't completely gone away. He still struggled to move, while Jiraiya and Tsunade mercilessly ate dinner beside him. Only Shizune felt sorry for Naruto and was feeding him a bowl of rice.
So, teachers are all just a joke; it turns out medical ninjas are the most caring, except for that old hag Tsunade.
"Hmm?" Tsunade suddenly looked at Naruto. "I feel like you're cursing me."
Naruto: "…"
He hurriedly shook his head, almost jarring his brain loose. "I didn't! I'm not! You're just making things up."
"Tch." Watching Naruto act like a coward, Tsunade rolled her eyes. "If you want to curse, just say it outright like a man. Don't be all shy and act like Shizune; don't make me look down on you."
Shizune: ?
Naruto paused for a moment, then thought it over for a while. "You're right! I can't be all shy like Shizune, Tsunade old hag."
Shizune: ¿
Jiraiya was speechless. You're really brave.
Anyway, in the end, Naruto went peacefully. Even though he struggled and said he was wrong, a big mouth has to pay for its words. I heard Jiraiya cried a lot when he sent Naruto off, even drinking three big bowls of sake to celebrate.
In the dead of night, Naruto lay in the sealing space, starving to the point of almost floating away. Shizune didn't feed him anymore, glaring at him while eating her own meal, forcing him to fend for himself.
Kurama was lying in the sealing space, pretending to be dead.
Naruto turned his head toward the prison door, where Kurama's figure was hardly visible in the darkness. "You usually mock me at times like this, Kurama. Why are you so quiet now?"
Kurama opened his eyes. "Can you speak Chinese? I can't speak Japanese."
Naruto: ???
"What are you talking about?" Naruto was filled with confusion.
This world does have English, but it's not commonly used—more like a code. For example, there are S-rank rogue ninjas and S-rank ninjutsu, and they might use words like "ok" or "thanks" when they talk.
Most of it is just common phrases,
but something like Kurama suddenly popping up, others wouldn't know. Anyway, Naruto definitely wouldn't understand.
Kurama turned away. "I already told you, I can't speak Japanese, so don't bother me. I want to sleep."
Naruto got angry, clenched his fists, and his forehead bulged with veins.
"Nine! Tails! Are you not going to explain what happened? What kind of attack did my shadow clone suffer?!"
Naruto had never experienced such a painful attack in his life. The pain from Kurama's chakra was intense, but it was continuous; it built up slowly and he could just about endure it. But that last blow had come out of nowhere, like he had been pierced through completely.
Kurama wanted to pretend to be dead, but listening to Naruto cursing made him feel guilty. He couldn't ignore his conscience, so after thinking for a moment, he plugged his ears.
Perfect! As long as he couldn't hear Naruto, his conscience would be clear.
Naruto's nose scrunched up in anger.
"You jerk!!! grandma Tsunade too! She promised to teach me Ninjutsu but backed out. And that lecherous sage said he would have grandma Tsunade help me, but now he hasn't said a word! And you—taking my shadow clone out to fight, and after losing, you won't even tell me who beat me!"
"I'm so mad!!!"
But it was true, Naruto had hit rock bottom lately. First, Jiraiya tried to teach him the Rasengan, but he couldn't learn because he was still hurt. Then he saw Tsunade, who promised to heal him but hadn't done anything yet. He finally heard that Tsunade would teach him new Ninjutsu, but she turned around and ditched him.
That wasn't even all of it. He had trusted Kurama enough to borrow a shadow clone, and just three days later, the pain feedback had him bedridden all day. The two heartless guys nearby didn't even care about him. Back in the sealing space, he had to endure Kurama's mocking.
It was Kurama who had borrowed his shadow clone, but now he couldn't even get out of bed. Not being able to move was one thing, but not even knowing why he got caught up in all this was even worse.
Naruto felt regret. If he had known, he wouldn't have gone out. If he hadn't gone out, he wouldn't have run into Tsunade. If he hadn't gone out, he wouldn't have let Kurama borrow his shadow clone. If he hadn't gone out, he wouldn't have been ridiculed by Jiraiya.
Thinking about everything that had happened in the past few days, tears of frustration streamed down his face, and his eyes grew dim.
"Fine, I'm tired. Just let it all end."
Kurama opened his eyes and saw this scene. Great… now his already limited conscience was hurting.
With a sigh, Kurama lowered his hand from his ears. "It's not that I can't tell you… Fine, I can tell you who scattered your shadow clone, and I can explain what happened, but you absolutely cannot tell Jiraiya or Tsunade. No one else can know either. If you agree, I'll tell you."
Naruto turned around, looking at Kurama with puppy-dog eyes.
"Don't look at me like that…" Kurama turned his head away and cleared his throat.
"For the past three days, I went to the Land of Thunder to find the Eight-Tails, Gyuki. I ran into the Fourth Raikage, A, and that guy hit me head-on with a powerful move. My Demon Fox Cloak couldn't stop his attack at all."
Naruto wiped away his tears. "The Eight-Tails, Gyuki?"
"Yeah." Kurama nodded. "You know that we'll be facing some strong enemies in the future, so I need to get stronger. Right now, the only way I can think of to grow stronger is to collect the chakra of all the Tailed Beasts. So, I borrowed your Shadow Clone to go to the Land of Thunder."
Naruto sniffled and wiped his nose. "Did you fight the Fourth Raikage?"
"Sort of." Kurama sighed. "That guy is indeed very strong. In terms of ninja taijutsu, there's probably only Tsunade who can match him right now. But these two aren't the same type of ninja, so the Fourth Raikage has a better chance."
Tsunade's taijutsu relies on her strength and recovery speed, while Raikage's taijutsu combines strength, defense, and speed. Tsunade can compete with Raikage, and in a prolonged battle, she would likely win. But Raikage doesn't fight that way; he goes straight for the attack.
Tsunade can be reckless too, but as a medical ninja, her damage output can't match a fully armed warrior like Raikage.
If Tsunade could hit Raikage, he would probably lose. The problem is that Tsunade can't land a hit on Raikage.
Kurama looked at Naruto and said, "Because your body is a Shadow Clone, once it gets hit, it disappears. I had to use a lot of chakra to maintain your clone without destroying it. I didn't expect him to go all out, breaking through my Demon Fox Cloak and shattering the clone in one blow."
"The one-handed attack is known as the strongest single-target ninja taijutsu in the ninja world, and the Fourth Raikage is no slouch, so… you know how it turned out." Kurama leaned against the cell door, feeling somewhat helpless.
"Guy? Don't mention Guy; that's taijutsu! We're talking about ninja taijutsu! They're different!"
