1 Wake up

"Sandy, Sandy, Sandy!"

"Mmmm?"

"Oh Skylar! What's up?"

"Jeez Sandy you need to stop daydreaming so much, anyway do you want to check out this new café after school?"

"Arghh, I would love to but I need to run an errand after school."

"Aw shucks guess we'll go another time."

Earlier today our homeroom teacher tasked me with the job of delivering some worksheets to a fellow classmate who was absent. I was chosen because I happen to live near them.

Now normally I wouldn't mind such a task and would think nothing of it.

However the classmate that I am delivering the worksheets to is Jaki the infamous Ice Queen of our school. It is rumoured that one glance from her is enough to freeze anyone in place.

Obviously these rumours are quite exaggerated but she does give off a cool and distant aura. She excels in both sports and academics but does not interact much with other people at school. And those who were brave enough to try and talk to her were shut down coldly and thus earning her the nickname of Ice Queen.

I feel nauseous just thinking about all this. Maybe I should just dash away after delivering her the papers.

There was also another reason that makes me so nervous about seeing her. Earlier in the year when I was messing around with Skylar during lunch break I accidentally spilt my strawberry milk onto Jaki.

I was apologising profusely but Jaki stood up and glared at me before leaving to clean the stain. Although the eye contact was brief it felt like I was a lowly peasant that has been sentenced to execution by the Queen.

This feeling was further enhanced by the fact that Jaki was a tall and elegant beauty.

She has the face of an angel with piercing blue eyes with silky smooth long hair. Her legs were also long and slender like a super model. I felt like a gremlin standing next to her with my messy curly hair and short stature.

So ever since then I feel wary and nervous around Jaki. And somehow as if god was making fun of me I was the one chosen to deliver the worksheets to her.

I begrudgingly trudge along the path towards her house as I try to empty my head of negative thoughts. Turns out she really did live quite close to me. It would only take around 5 minutes for me to reach her house from mine by foot.

I have always wanted to have a friend that lived super close to me so we can hang out easily since I live quite far away from all my friends. Though I doubt I would be befriending Jaki.

And before I know it I was in front of Jaki's house. The house was quite different from the rest of the house in the neighbourhood. It has a sleek and modern design to it especially in contrast to the houses next to it.

I take a deep breath.

"I can do this!"

I knock on the door gently but there was no response. Argh! I really don't want to knock any harder but it seems like I have no other choice.

So I began knocking on the door harder until I hear a croaky voice.

"You know we have a door bell?"

Embarrassed, I look around and see that there was indeed a doorbell to the side of the door. I got used to knocking on doors because our house did not have one.

The door opens and I was greeted by what I can only describe as an amazing sight.

Although Jaki still had her elegant presence, she was wearing a cute pyjama with bear patterns all over it. Her hair was also dishevelled and messy. To me who has only seen Jaki in her school uniform this felt like a brand new discovery.

Normally I would compare her to a stern husky but right now she looks absolutely adorable like a cute little Pomeranian with her hair sticking out everywhere. Is this what people call Moe gap!?

However before my thoughts could run further amok Jaki suddenly collapsed in front of me.
