Turn of Events

Luca woke up as the sun was rising, relieved to see that Sophia remained asleep. 

They had compromised that she would at least lay low for a couple more days before returning to the bakery. That meant he could also work for two days knowing she was safe. It would help him focus. 

He imagined when she returned to the bakery, he would lose hours worrying about her if he couldn't go there himself. Gus was his most trusted man but there were so many variables he couldn't consider at all times. 

The mafia worked in mysterious ways even to Luca. His father was constantly plotting on ways he could further put a wrench in his life. 

Unlike usual, Luca didn't go into his bathroom with the intent of showering. All he did was brush his teeth and adjust his hair before getting into a tanktop and joggers. 

Ethan assured him that they would be able to wake up early and hit the gym a few floors below.
