110 Her Biggest Burden

Silence fell upon the hospital room as Sophia clung to Luca but her head dropped and she couldn't meet his eyes.

Her emotions were out of control. She felt that if she even opened her mouth to speak or looked at Luca again she would certainly have another breakdown. She wanted to present her best self to him but she couldn't do that at that moment.

Luca wanted to pull away from her and ask questions he needed to hear the answers to. He wanted to know each event of the past 48 hours but he could tell that the state she was in wouldn't lead to productive conversation.

What was eating away at his mind was her saying someone attacked her.
