How I Became The Alpha Mafia Boss' Target

Excerpt: His lips left her neck only long enough to say, “If the invisible scars he left don't disappear now, I'll keep trying again and again until they do. Soon your body will know only me.” Her eyes were still swollen from her previous tears, but they began to water again for a far different reason than before. She tried to pull away and hide her face from him. “Promise me,” she uttered. “Promise me I'll never be in the same room as him ever again.” His fist clenched and he had to control his anger. Quieter than before he whispered, “I promise.” * Synopsis: A tumultuous childhood made Sophia fight that much harder for peace in her adulthood. Finally Asking For Help

The exhaustion Sophia was feeling seemed to be constant. It was getting in the way of her life in Gaulenzia. She feared she would wind up the way she did in the Morelli Estate north of New Vista. By the time she left, she could tell she had dark circles under her eyes and her clothing fit more loosely.

Sometimes as she wandered around the villa in a tired daze, trying to find things to occupy herself so she wouldn't nap her day away, she silently begged Luca to hurry back. It seemed that his pheromones were the only thing that could comfort her body. She might have resisted bonding for longer if she knew they were going to be separated for such a long time.

The last kiss they shared was always fresh in her thoughts. If she wasn't careful, she would get lost in a daydream with her fingers pressed against her lips.

She hoped coffee or food would be enough to take it away but she felt like she was a bottomless pit and it never really hit the spot.
