An Attempt at their Lives

There was no better way to wake up than in Luca's warm embrace.

Sophia's birthday had been right out of a fairytale and, even though the sun shining on her face was why she woke up, she didn't mind. The world felt beautiful momentarily.

Staying in that moment forever was all she wanted.

Luca was already awake and patiently waiting for his omega to wake up when she rolled over and buried her face in his neck. He felt her sigh as she breathed in and out pheromones only she was allowed to have.

"Good morning," Luca whispered. "Did you sleep well?"

"How could I not?" Sophia asked quietly. "This bed is so comfortable and someone took all the energy out of me."

If it weren't for the alcohol the night before, Luca wasn't so sure if he would have let her get away with all the things she got away with. Even though he felt like he lived a long life already, she managed to find new firsts for him.

It made him feel strangely youthful.
