All Signs Point to Murder

After years of waking up at 4:30 am every day to open a bakery, sleeping in until 7 or 8 am felt like a luxury. Since they weren't having to go to the office, their wake-up hour was creeping closer and closer to 8 am more often.

That day wasn't different especially because of the interruption to Sophia's sleep as Luca got home the night before.

In a rare time when Sophia woke up before Luca, she opened her eyes to his peaceful face and a small smile appeared on her face.

The day outside was cloudy and it made for a groggy time adjusting to being awake. Sophia preferred sunny mornings to help her get started, but watching Luca was helping her.

Lately, his eyebrows seemed to always be lowered and a crease remained between them. It was an intimidating expression he wore when she first found him but after he remembered who he was he seemed a lot friendlier.

She realized he must be under a lot of stress to wear that expression consistently.
