A Promise

They were finally doing what she had been begging for since her house and bakery went up in flames. 

Sophia thought that she would be elated and jump into it right away but the circumstances around the situation were making her feel bad that it was the last resort. 

They hadn't been regularly intimate in a while since both of their schedules had been filling up. It made Sophia feel like she was forcing Luca's hand. She promised him before that she wouldn't beg anymore and let him do what he needed to first. 

As Sophia showered, she couldn't help feeling miserable that, no matter what she did, her life would always be controlled by alphas. Who else was an alpha who never told her? Her father? Her grandfather? 

She wanted to hate all the alphas but now she needed an alpha to protect her so she was forced to rely on him. 

Sophia leaned into her arms against the shower wall and a quiet sob shook her frame.
