Finally, after only a few moments of ignorance I realize what just happened... Right I... Don't exist?

My body is gone but I can still feel myself where I was before... I wasn't moved but rather... Shifted?

I can't see anything but I can... 'See' everything, something like a visionless vision...

This couldn't be... My soul? Right?

Yet before I can continue contemplating the sudden situation, an alert appears before me.

[CRYSTALIZATION completed!

Fractured Seranade UNLOCKED

As the notification rings out in my head, a sudden calm washes over me, as everything seems to slow down.

At the same time, my body reappears in the world, right behind the confused octopus.

Yet I was different... Instead of my usual body... My body was filled with cracks, which seemed to hover in place... From within the cracks a light blue most trailed out...

Every once in a while, my body would pulsate like a wave in a calm sea... Sending a wave of light through the games in my body...

Finally, after what seemed like minutes to me, the octopus finally turned around, noticing me.

Despite the fact that everything slowed down for me... I was too distracted by looking at myself to notice the octopuses rapid barrage of strikes.

And yet...

Without even a thought, my fragmented body simply moved out of it's way, moving back to it's original position afterward.

'What the hell is happening?'

[CRYSTALIZATION!

Crystallization is the peak of energy! Mana, despite being the most versatile energy, is VERY inefficient. So instead PEOPLE use sub types of mana, like your HYPER energy.

When someone is able to use their energy to an abnormal extent, like using it to do things it shouldn't BE able to do, it eventually CRYSTALIZES.

When crystalization occurs, someone gains special abilities. These ABILITIES usually have... NO CORRELATION with the energy they originated from!]

I stare at the screen blankly, before it disappeared, another appearing in it's place.

[You were ABLE to reach a high point of mastery over your energy, due to being able to make structures out of HYPER energy, which shouldn't be POSSIBLE!

With the combination of YOUR high mastery and... THE POWER OF OUR FRIENDSHIP! You were able to crystalline your energy.

The skill FRACTURED SERENADE, is a 'mode' type skill, allowing you to enter a time-limited state granting you new abilities.]

Getting my explanation, I turn my attention back to the octopus who is uselessly trying to stab me.

Deciding to get this over with I pour my energy into my 'body' before darting forward.

I get launched forward at an incredible speed, bypassing the octopus completely.

As I'm about to crash into his body, my body completely fragments, becoming unrecognizable shards.

Without a sign of slowing down, the shards of my body pierce through the octopuses body like a shotgun blast, before coming back together on the other side of his body.

'Ho~? So this is how it is...'

Simply with that one attack, I could tell how this ability worked...

Essentially, this ability allows me to endlessly fracture and reconstruct my body, controlling each shard individually.

All the 'shard' of me share energy together, which seems to be my only limitation...

With a sinister smirk in my heart, I fracture myself into smaller pieces. Before the octopus can even recover from my first attack, there's a sphere of shards surrounding the octopus from all sides.

And then, one by one, the shards start to fly through the octopus, stopping at the other side before turning around and striking him again.

The shards slowly built up speed, eventually turning into an endless torrent of blades, each one piercing the body of the octopus.

After a while of the endless torrent, the octopus looks shredded, yet still grasping onto life...

All the blades simply stop attacking, all of them gathering above the octopus, moving into a vaguely drill-like shape.

And then, with no further hesitation, the rotating drill slams down through the water, meeting the octopus, and tearing it apart, leaving only a corpse behind...

All the shards come together, forming back into my fish-like shape. Extra shards which appeared from thin water disappeared just as they appeared.

As I manually deactivate the skill, reforming myself completely, I look around, waiting to see what happens next.

*THUNK RUMBLE*

Simultaneously, two sounds rang out. The first one belonging to a large trunk that fell into the middle of the clearing, while the second one came from the forest surrounding the clearing.

Turning around to inspect the forest, I see that a path opened up in the forest, seemingly signifying my victory.

Turning back to the trunk, I start to swim towards it.

The trunk is roughly 5 ft in length while 3 feet in width, with a simple black coloration with a single golden latch holding it shut.

On my way to the trunk, I can't help but admire the destroyed clearing.

'Wow... We sure did make a mess... And that octopus was pretty tough but...'

I glance back a little, giving the shredded corpse a suspicious glance.

'Didn't he go down a bit easy... And wasn't that skill a bit too op...'

And, before I can continue that line of thoughts, a sudden notification appears within my eyesight as a sudden wave of exhaustion stops me in my tracks.

As my body starts to nose dive for the floor of the clearing, I'm able to read the panel before I impact the ground.

[WARNING, energy levels are CRITICALLY low!]

*THUD*

I'm, so basically, sorry for the kinda info dump, but I needed to come up with some bullshit to explain the sudden power up :|

Also if you're wondering, I got inspiration for the name from honkai... :|

Uhm... Yeah I guess I killed the boss off a bit too fast, but I already wrote like 3 chapters for this one dude, I didn't want to write another.

Also, I totally forgot to add the level up notify, if you're wondering she's at 14 out of 15.

Why not 15? Because fuck you, that's why.

That's all really, also I only plan to use fractured serenade for bullshit purposes so it won't show up too often :|

That's all pretty much, this author note was a bit of a mess but I don't mind...

Oo, also we are like... One or two chapters away from 15k word count!
