a story about the last two people on earth.
what do you do when you wake up and found out that every living human being around you has suddenly disappeared? normally, birds would be chirping while they fly into the sky and people would wake up, and most of them are already heading towards their job! but on this one particular day, everything seemed...quiet.
way too quiet even. fortunately for two people, they didn't disappear like others.
"Hey... wanna go out and explore? I mean, the connection for my phone does not work and even the tv! it usually does too..." asked the young man to the lady beside him.
"I mean, sure but don'cha think you're just overreacting? don't get me wrong, this does give me creepy movie vibes bu-"
seeing the glare thanks to her peripheral vision, she stopped her sentence before she'd get discombobulated by the young man. noticing the facial expression she was giving, he stopped looking at her with hateful eyes and says
"I know myself and I sure am not overreacting babe. it just feels weird you know? why is there no connection for my phone to even use such things as Snapchat even...."
falling into deep thoughts, the young man stands up while he heads towards a window. sliding the window to the side, he puts his head over to check over the road. since it wasn't long when he woke up, the sun was blazing while the rays were beaming right at him making him shield his eyes with his hand.
'it's too quiet... I'll have to go out to check.'
"you're right, it's way too quiet actually... wanna go out to check and stuff? maybe we'll see signs of life ya know?" said the lady while she comes up from behind and does the same action by shielding her eyes with her hand.
"haaa.... we really do share the same mind sometimes."
"that's why we're engaged, right?" said the lady while smiling gleefully at the young man she then continues to add
"come on, let's go out now while it's still sunny babe. you never know when it's gonna go bad without the weather forecast." bouncing towards the entrance of the house while humming, the young man just stares at her back while admiring the way she still is in a situation that's unusual for them.
"aren't you coming? quick! you're the one who wanted to go out and see what's going on too!"
"Alright alright, I'm hurrying myself up."
"you better hmph"
while a small smile could be seen forming in the young man's face, the lady quickly puts her running shoes on while throwing his shoes at him jokingly.
"hehe, I'm gone peace!"
'How could she be so carefree in this situation... haaa.' thought the young man while looking at the ring in his ring finger.
"maybe that's why I am engaged to her." murmured the young man. looking at the picture frame sitting on the table, he could see a beautiful couple that resembles the young man and the lady. albeit the younger version of them, it wasn't hard to tell that it was them when they were younger.
describing the girl in the picture with 1 word would be the word, wild. with beautiful eyes, nose, and lips she looks like a mature beauty in the picture frame. even if the picture is fully gray, it doesn't hide the bronze complexion of the lady, making her seem even more beautiful considering she's melanin.
"seriously? am I really this in love even though it's been many years that have passed..."
shaking his thoughts, he proceeds to put on his shoes while quickly jogging his way towards the exit by himself.
coming soon
