The Training Arc Part 1/3

| Two Days Later |

The Yaoyorozu family estate showed the full luxury and splendor afforded to those who were a part of the highest class of wealth and power. Acres of land surrounded by a fence stretched further than the naked eye could see. Rich and lush foliage that looked regularly taken care of and a mansion that rivaled a castle in size but resembled art in its beauty with its seamless blend of classical and modern styles.

Class 1-A and some of their accompanying parents drove down the long, winding driveway lined with perfectly manicured trees and topiary sculptures leading to the entrance and were either wondering about how rich the Yaoyorozu family was or feeling like they were underdressed to be in such a prestigious place.

After another few seconds of driving down the driveway, flanked by lush gardens brimming with vibrant flowers and exotic plants, they finally reached the end, a grand fountain, with water cascading over marble statues. Beyond the fountain, at the front of Yaoyorozu mansion entrance, was Izuku, clad in camo cargo pants, a tight-fitting black shirt that showed off his chiseled physique, and black boots.

He was not the only one there though, behind him, further up the steps, was Momo Yaoyorozu, and the rest of the Midoriya family (minus the father). Seeing that the organizers were already waiting for them, the students and parents stepped out of the car to meet them.

Izuku noticed that the parent-child ratio was off, with fewer parents and more students. He supposed that only a few of them would be able to make it to orientation due to non-essential workers being able to return to their jobs now but he hadn't expected them to carpool here. His classmates, stepped out of the cars, excitedly chatting amongst themselves while helping the parents carry bags of clothes for the next five days.

Izuku stood at the entrance with Momo, ready to greet each family as they arrived and invite them in. The first to arrive at the steps near him was Kirishima, his father by his side.

"Morning, Midoriya, Yaoyorozu," he greeted with a wide grin.

"Good morning, Kirishima, Mr. Kirishima," Izuku replied, nodding respectfully.

Next came Jiro, accompanied by her father, who gave a casual nod of acknowledgment. "Morning," he muttered, looking around the impressive estate. They greeted him back and invited him in.

Todoroki arrived with a woman who looked too young to be his mother, so Izuku assumed it was an older sibling. She smiled warmly at Izuku and greeted him. "Good morning, thank you for having us," she said graciously. Izuku nodded to her, greeted her back, and, welcomed her inside where she was directed by the Momo on how to reach the living room where the orientation for the camp would take place.

Next came his Aunt Mitsuki, who was looking past Izuku and up the stairs, her face both pale and shocked like she was seeing a ghost. The complete opposite of Bakugo, who was smiling ear to ear, happy to see his childhood friends again. "Oi Izuku, Izuki, how you guys hangin'?"

Izuku made to respond but before he could, his excitable older sister, rushed past him and hugged Katsuki's mom, nearly knocking the older woman off her feet in the process. "Auntie, I'm so glad to see you again! How have you been?"

Mitsuki Bakugo was too shocked to say anything. She had heard from Inko and Katsuki that Izuki was somehow back, that she was still alive, but seeing and knowing were two different things, especially when it concerned Izuki, the girl who was her niece in all but blood. To supplement her wordless shock, she wrapped the girl in a tight hug and let out silent tears of joy.

"Wow, you still smell the best Auntie," Izuki complemented while sinking deeper into the hug with a content smile. She did not mind the wetness she could feel from the older woman's tears dropping on her.

Out of the corner of his eye, Izuku spotted Mineta, observing the embrace with rapt attention, as if he was seeing a holy sight. When Izuku turned his full attention to him, the other boy seemed to sense his gaze and turned to see Izuku kindly eye smile at him and jerk his thumb towards the door behind him. Mineta, picking up what Izuku was putting down, almost reluctantly gathered his bags and walked into the mansion.

Bakugo, annoyed and slightly jealous about not receiving a hug, on top of being embarrassed that his mother and friend were making a scene in front of everyone, decided to break the hug between the two with a karate chop to Izuki's head.

Feeling the impact, the older twin's arms retreated from around her aunt with a squeak and sought out of her head to comfort it. Something that Izuku found odd because he knew Bakugo would not have hit his sister hard and that even if he did, her innate durability due to her new power made her invulnerable to unenhanced hits. This led Izuku to surmise that his sister was just up to an unusual trick to mess with Bakugo and what happened confirmed his thoughts.

Seeing her son's actions, Mistuki immediately regained her usual fire, whirled on him, and slapped him upside the head, "What did I tell you about putting your hands on a lady, Katsuki!?"

Bakugo, mirroring Izuki's actions, clutched his head in pain and shouted at his mother. "What the hell hag, I didn't even hit her hard!"

Inko, knowing how these two usually fight, saw that this would develop into an argument if no one intervened. So she made her way down the stairs and next to her daughter, who was still nursing her head, brought her into a hug and addressed her friend. "Mitsuki, please calm down or you're going to scare the young Yaoyorozu."

Said girl merely laughed awkwardly at the comedy-like dynamic of the mother and son causing the Bakugo matriarch to blush in embarrassment.

"And Bakugo, please do not hit my daughter like that again or I'll make your mother's discipline look like mercy." Inko's threatening words were delivered in a calm and warm voice, somehow enhancing the threatening undertone and aura to them. It made Katsuki take a step back in surprise, not from fear he would forever deny it, before regaining his spine, grabbing his bags, and proceeding into the mansion.

After that, his mother went into the house with him, followed by Izuki and Inko. However, Izuku and Momo stayed behind and greeted each family of his classmates warmly until they were all inside and accounted for. With nothing left to do outside the mansion, the two decided to head towards the living room of the Yaoyorozu family estate where Class 1-A and their parents filled the room with the soft murmur of conversation as everyone settled into the plush seating and ate.

Wanting to give everyone a few more minutes to interact or eat, Izuku waited near the entrance while practicing his upcoming parts in his head until he could delay no longer without putting their schedule at risk. With a bit of nervousness, Izuku gave Momo the signal that it was time to begin, and received a nod back from her, prompting them both to move toward the front of the living room to grab a pair of small microphones to project their voices over the cacophony of hushed voices caused by multiple conversations taking place at the same time.

"Good morning, everyone," Izuku began, his voice carrying through the spacious room. "First and foremost, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Momo and the Yaoyorozu family for hosting this training camp. Their generosity and support have made this possible."

Momo looked pleasantly surprised by the acknowledgment, a slight blush coloring her cheeks. Her parents, sitting together nearby, exchanged proud glances and nodded in approval. Oddly enough, when planning this out both Momo and Izuku had forgotten to include thanking Momo's family for hosting the orientation, something Izuku corrected thanks to some quick thinking.

"You're welcome, Izuku," Momo's father said in his seat near his wife. "Why when we heard our dear Momo come home excitedly gah..." Before the man could continue and possibly say something to embarrass his daughter, Ms. Yaoyorozu had buried an elbow in his ribs while maintaining a demure and ladylike appearance.

Momo gave a small, appreciative nod to her mother, her blush getting slightly brighter as she began speaking. "Yes, thank you, Izuku, and thank you all for being here."

Nodding in acknowledgment, Izuku continued, "I'm sure you all have a rough understanding of why we're here, but I want to lay out some specifics about what we'll be doing." As he spoke, the large screen behind him lit up, displaying a slideshow presentation. The first slide showed the title "Class 1-A Training Camp" in bold, colorful letters, accompanied by chibi photos of All Might and a few other heroes doing various exercises. "This training camp is designed to help us refine our quirks, enhance our combat abilities, and strengthen our teamwork. Each day will be structured with a balance of rigorous training and activities to help us grow stronger."

The screen switches to display the schedule for the camp as Izuku continues. "Aside from today, we'll start each day with breakfast and morning exercises. Following that, we'll have skill drills and quirk refinement sessions. Afternoons will be dedicated to sparring matches, team-building exercises, and basic martial training."

As he finished speaking a hand went up from the audience. It was Kaminari's father. Izuku, having expected questions and having planned responses for the ones likely to be asked, nodded to the father to signal him to speak. "What kind of safety measures are in place to ensure our children's well-being during these rigorous activities?"

When it came to ensuring the parents regarding the safety of the camp, Izuku and Momo decided it would be better if her parents answered since it would lend more validity to their claims of safety since it came from responsible adults and not teenagers.

So Momo's mother, Mrs. Yaoyorozu, stepped forward with a reassuring smile to answer. "We have professional staff on-site, including trained medics and security personnel. The estate is equipped with the latest security technology, and we have emergency protocols in place. Every activity will be closely supervised to ensure everyone's safety."

Satisfied with the response, Kaminari's father nodded and sat back down but as soon as he did another hand was raised, this time by Lida. "Are there any specific goals or milestones we students should aim to achieve by the end of the camp?" He asked as stiff as ever.

"Great question, Izuku answered as he flipped through a few slides fast to land where he wanted to be, a slide outlining the camp objectives. "Initially, this camp was started as a means of preparing for the sports festival, and while the goal has somewhat shifted to encompass general hero work training, the ultimate goal remains. However, I and others will assign individual goals tailored to our unique abilities and current skill levels. So by the end of the camp, we hope everyone will have a better understanding of their quirks and how to use them effectively in different scenarios."

Mina's mother raised her hand next. "What about recreational activities? Will there be time for the kids to unwind and have some fun?"

This was another of the questions they had expected to be asked and so preassigned for Momo to answer. After all, it was her and Izuki's idea to add recreational activities to the camp. Izuku's first draft of the schedule consisted only of training, which he thought was fine until Momo reminded him that morale would drop if they only worked and didn't play.

"Yes, we've planned various recreational activities for the evenings, including movie nights, game sessions, and even a talent show. We believed it was important to balance hard work with relaxation to keep the troo- ehem, everyone motivated and to get to know each other more." Momo stated and then moved the mic from her mouth.

The parents exchanged nods of approval and began to relax, some of their initial concerns eased by the comprehensive plan laid out before them.

After that, Izuku continued the orientation, going over more about the camp and answering questions with Momo until the slideshow came to a close. "One last thing," Izuku added, "We managed to get a professional hero to join us for individual training sessions for the last day. Who they are is a surprise but I'm sure most of us will be excited to see them. Now, are there any more questions "

"How will meals be handled?" asked Koda's mother, raising a practical concern. "My boy has specific dietary requirements because of allergies."

Mrs. Yaoyorozu smiled as she once more took to answering the questions. She had been doing that a lot more than her husband since he seemed to like rambling more than after answering what was asked. "Our staff will prepare all meals, ensuring they are nutritious and cater to any dietary restrictions."

With that question answered, it seemed the parents had their curiosity and worries satiated, allowing the orientation to draw to a close with the parents (and siblings) expressing their gratitude to the Yaoyorozu family, exchanging contact information, and forming a support network among themselves before departing from the mansions.

With the guardians departing, Izuku's mom and Momo's parents went to see them out, leaving just the students and Izuki, his determination evident. "Alright, everyone, let's make the most of this opportunity. We have a LOT to accomplish in these five days, and I know we can achieve great things together."

For some reason, the emphasis in his sentence sent a shiver down some of their spines.

Day One of Training

The sprawling forest in the Yaoyorozu estate's backyard served as the perfect backdrop for the first day's training exercise. Tall trees formed a dense canopy, and the sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. Izuku stood at the edge of the forest, facing his classmates who had packed away their belongings, changed into their sweats, and were ready with excitement at the first challenge of this camp.

"Alright, everyone," Izuku began, his voice firm yet encouraging. The class gathered together after packing their things away in their assigned rooms and changing into workout clothes. "Today's training is simple. We'll run a simple villain vs hero simulation. I'm the villain with a hostage..." He pointed to his sister behind him to Izuki, who sat in a floating cage made from his ability, acting distressed and failing utterly. " And you're the heroes sent to save the hostage, take down the villain, and get her to safety. This area we're in now is the safe zone and where you're supposed to bring her after rescue. Finally, you have until sundown to save the hostage or you will all fail."

With the explanation of the exercise complete, it was time to explain the rules. "Before someone asks, there are no rules, only a guideline. You're to act in the capacity of a real hero. Other than that you are free to do as you please. Now with all that said, good luck, and don't worry too much about property damage. The Mister and Misses Yaoyorozu said we could go all out."

His piece already said, Izuku raised his hand, creating a shimmering disk of solid light beneath his feet that levitated him off the ground. Then, without a gesture, he flew into the forest. The light disk carried him silently, leaving no trace of his presence behind other than Izuki's voice, "Oh great heroes, save me from the clutches of this dastardly villaaain."

The class watched them go, feeling a little taken aback by his sudden and brief explanation before getting over it and immediately turning to Momo, their de facto leader. Yaoyorozu took a gander at the expectant faces then a deep breath to sink into her 'General Mode' before beginning to outline their strategy.

"Alright, everyone, gather around," Momo said, her voice calm and authoritative as she pulled out a map of her family's forest, laying it on the ground for everyone to see. "With Izuku's mobility, stealth, and power we're already fighting an uphill battle. So we'll even the playing field by spreading out into three-man cells based on our abilities and how they complement each other. That way we can avoid being wiped out in a single blast while searching for him and easily surround him when we eventually engage him in combat."

Kaminari, deep in thought, couldn't help but compare the scenario to the bomb retrieval test they had done with All Might. Plus the insanity that was everyone vs Izuku also distracted him as while he acknowledged Izuku was the strongest in the class, Kamanari didn't think he was capable of beating all of them at the same time, especially with that time limit.

Before he could think about anything more, Momo turned to him, her gaze questioning. "Kaminari, can you still pull off the super speed you showed at USJ?"

He shook his head, his expression solemn and his mood dipping at the reminder of the cool power he lost. "No, my quirk went back to normal after that day. Now I just have a bit more time before I go stupid.

Bakugo crossed his arms, a contemplative look on his face before a devious thought came to mind. "Then why don't we forget about rescuing Izuki and focus on fighting Izuku? If we force Izuku to use his healing during the fight it'll give us the edge we need to overcome his ridiculously strong barriers. Plus beating him means we're free to take the hostage without resistance."

Momo considered his words for a brief moment before nodding in agreement. "You have a point Bakugo. From what we saw in USJ, his constructs may be too strong for us to break without harming Izuki in the process. Chances are we may not even be capable of harming them. So you're right, we should focus primarily on taking down Izuku. However, I still at least want to attempt to rescue Izuki when we get the chance. After all, we're heroes, saving people is what we're supposed to do."

The class collectively agreed with her so she began to focus on creating the teams. "Alright, so here are the teams. Tokoyami, Jiro, Koda, you're team one. Tokoyami, use Dark Shadow to scan the ground for tracks and traps but you're main goal is to protect your team. Jiro, monitor for sound cues and prevent any ambushes on our forces. Koda, I want you to utilize birds and other animals for observation of the forest and finding Izuku."

Jiro nodded. "I'll do my best to pick up any unusual sounds."

"And I-I'll talk to the birds and squirrels and see what I can find," Koda said with a determined nod. While Tokoyami merely nodded his head in acquiescence.

"Team two," Momo said as she pointed at the members when she called their names. "Shoji, Asui, Toru, your primary role is to locate the hostage and rescue her if possible. If you can't, contact me immediately so I can assign someone who can assist you in doing so. If you encounter Izuku before finding the hostage, relay his position to us and provide information that team one may have missed. But at no point should you engage Izuku directly unless you see an opportunity to take him down and if you're discovered before such an opportunity is present, flee while trying to lead him towards the vanguard."

Ai ai boss!" Toru responded with her usual enthusiasm and her teammates responded much the same.

"Team three, the vanguard, will be Iida, Todoroki, and Bakugo. You'll be the first people to engage once Izuku's location is confirmed. Keep him occupied until we can get into formation and surround him."

"Team four, Kirishima, Ojiro, Sato," Momo said, addressing the next team. "You'll be direct support for the vanguard, if any of them go down you go in until they get back up. Keep Izuku under pressure, prevent him from retreating, attack him whenever there are openings."

"Got it!" Kirishima responded with enthusiasm, and Ojiro and Sato nodded in agreement.

"Aoyama, Kaminari, and I will make up the team 5, the Support Team," Momo concluded. "Aoyama, your naval laser will assist with ranged attacks. Kaminari, be prepared to deliver a strong enough electrical shock to force Izuku into using his healing when we give you an opening. I'll strategize and adapt as needed, providing essential support to the teams."

Finally, team six, "Sero, Mineta, Mina," Momo stated. "Your task is to disrupt Izuku's tactics and limit his mobility but most importantly, set up traps around the forest that we can use to our advantage against him."

With the teams made and roles handed out, the class went on to finalize their plan, discussing it in further detail, pointing on the map where they thought Izuku could be hiding the hostage, and making sure everyone knew their roles.

With the plan in place and the class formation strong, Momo gave a final nod to everyone before giving the order to start the exercise. "Alright, everyone. Let's move out!"

A/N: Hello everyone, you must be wondering why this humble author bothered writing this training arc when the cannon one is almost right after the sports festival. The answer to that question is quite simple yet multifaceted. And one that I won't bother explaining lol, it all just boils down to "because i wanted to" anyways.

Thanks real777, genskot, Table_Qwest, and TheDefaultGamer for the stones. The support is much appreciated.

Next time on HOW DID I BECOME THE SYSTEM!? The hunters become the hunted, the damsel does the saving, and the class forever regrets stepping into the same forest as Izuku Midoriya.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
