.Dreams of tomorrow

"Hey, Soriya", Selene called out to her sister in a hushed voice slowly stirring her awake from her sleep. " ...Mmmh?", she readjusted her head that rested on Selene's shoulder with them both sitting on the bed.

"I can't stay for longer, dawn is already approaching", Selene reasoned, her expression turned longing. " I know, but it's hard, it was only a few hours ago that we found each other", Soriya said softly while she gently nuzzled her face in Selene's body.

[This gesture means she truly adores me. She did this same thing with Larisa, who swore to protect her in memory of me, after she escaped the slave traders], Selene looked thoughtful for a moment.

"Do you really believe everything I told you?", Selene asked unsettled. "Yes I do. There were so many things I didn't understand, but speaking with you seemed to make it more clearer than it was before", her eyes glistened with tears.

"Don't worry, we'll meet again", Selene stated while standing to leave. "When?", she held Selene by her arm as she stared up at her pleadingly with her emerald green eyes.

"Tonight, but please be careful not to allow anyone find out that you met me", Selene mentioned with a grim expression on her face. "Ok, I won't", Soriya replied immediately while releasing Selene's arm, "You better come see me this night or else I'll come and find you", she threatened childishly with her cheeks puffed.

"I will always come to you", Selene gave her a brief hug before turning to leave, in between the golden and the blue hour the light slowly filled the rooms atmosphere, " Bye Soriya, I'll come and see you again", Selene smiled with contentment before climbing back down the window.

"Goodbye", Soriya said in a hushed whisper that could not be heard.

"Hugh!", [How did I ever get this way], Selene thought as she laid on her bed of night clouds helplessly, her fever seemed to have gotten worse. "I'm so sorry your highness, I didn't realize when I slept, I'm so incompetent", Larisa rambled on as she dabbed Selene's forehead with a wet towel feeling panicked.

"N...o yo..u're not", Selene said breathing heavily. "I am, how could I sleep when you are like this?", She looked unhappy as tears threatened to leave her eyes.

"I will be ok Larisa, the physician was invited to see me today, so everything will be fine", Selene said with difficulty in order to calm Larisa's nerves. "(Sob sob!), Princess Selene!", Larisa cried out as she held Selene in her arms.

[It can't be helped, I'll wait for her to calm down first], Selene thought.

_A few hours later_

[Why isn't she calming down?], Selene face became as pale as a ghost, [I feel like I will really die if she continues being like this], she thought.

There was a light knock at the door, "Selene are you decent? The royal physician is here for you", Bastian's voice sounded soft from the other side of the door.

"You may come in", Selene said weakly, Larisa's arms still wrapped around her possessively. The door creaked opened slowly to reveal Bastian walk in, wearing his official attire, his gaze looked different an air of confidence came off him and his ponytail was redone to a high updo.

"Good morning Brother", Selene greeted weakly. "... Oh! Ehm, good morning sister", his ears turn red as he kept a straight face to avoid embarrassment.

Bastian's back straightened under her gaze, [How much does she know?], he thought, beads of sweat formed over his eyebrows. "Are you alright, Prince Bastian?", the man at his back asked, taking the initiative of closing the door behind him. "I am alright Dr. Jekyll, as you can see the one that is unwell here is my sister", Bastian said in an attempt to stabilize his emotions.

"Good morning Princess Selene, I hope you had a pleasant night", he asked as he stared at her with his chestnut colored eyes, he looked to be around the same age as Bastian his baby blue hair looked dreamy in the afternoon sun.

[Poo, why didn't the author just make this a reverse harem with all these handsome men], she huffed, [This won't do, let's reduce the tension a little].

Selene hugged Larisa tightly, while wearing a large smile, "As you can see Sir Jekyll, I am fairing a lot better than yesterday, since Larisa spent the entire night with me", she said while giving Bastian a brief mocking look.

"Doctor, please fix my sister, she has been acting out of character since her fever started", Bastian blurted out already feeling vexed as Selene briefly stuck out her tongue to him, for some reason her actions really annoyed him.

[I kind of feel guilty for making fun of his one sided love, Teehee!], Selene thought as she smiled at Bastian lovingly, [Don't worry brother, I'll give you a fighting chance, unlike in the original, I will protect everyone], she concluded.

"Please can everyone leave the room while I examine the princess", Dr. Jekyll requested. "No I don't want to", Selene whined while hugged Larisa tight.

"Ehmm, princess please, you need to be examined", Larisa tried to reason with her. "I don't wanna!", she whined louder. "Come Larisa let us leave", Bastian reached out his hand to accompany her.

[Finally he's making a move], she sighed, "Alright you can go now?", She immediately released Larisa causing her to stumble into Bastian's arms.

"...", Dr. Jekyll. " Hey, Sir Jekyll look over here, didn't you come to treat me", Selene looked visibly upset with him.

[I can't tolerate, this man using his dirty eyes to look at my brother's pure love], she huffed.

"Ehem! Then we will be on our way out then", Bastian said clearing his throat. "Yes we will", Larisa said her face red with embarrassment.

[I'm still stuck on the love that never came to be, like the one who has dreams of tomorrow], Selene thought as she tried to hide her excitement and dreamy expression.

"Ok bye now", Selene said waving Bastian and Larisa as they disappeared behind the door, Bastian gave her a death glare.

[Ah! sweet love], she felt satisfied with her actions, well until she saw the doctor looking at the door, [What is wrong with this man?], she huffed as she looked away getting his attention.

"Princess, can you please let me take your temperature?", Dr. Jekyll asked while coming closer, he reeked of something sinister.

[This plan is risky, really risky but it will have to work, if it doesn't, I'll go with plan B], she thought as she smiled sweetly at Dr. Jekyll, [I'll make you suffer for the life she never lived], her eyes gleamed with excitement.
