House of the Rising Sun

You know, I was fascinated with vampires when I was a kid. The thought of power and good looks made me want to be one. That is, until I actually became one. Suddenly Lestat’s musings of an eternity being lonely became too real. Waking up in a forest who would have thought I’d run into ‘that’ family. I’d strangle the one that sent me here if she hadn’t trapped me in a world full of bullshit magic, doppelgängers, and broody vampires. *Status: Complete* *Sequel Pending*

I’m Definitely Going to Hell

A servant had come and asked me about what had happened in my study. I told them that I lost my temper for a bit and trashed the place. They didn't ask any more questions after that. Cleaning and getting everything back to where they once were took all of a day and a half. The desk had been damaged in the heat of things. So had a shelf and the rug on the floor.

To say that things in the house were tense over the last few days would have been an understatement. Amelie avoided me, she'd even take her meals in her room. Freya noticed and asked me.

"Did something happen between you two that led to this?"

"It's, difficult to explain."

"Would it have something to do with the sounds from your study I heard a few days ago?"

"I guess it's not that hard to explain. She came onto me, I fought it off at first, but then I don't know, something came over me and I-I ended up screwing the girl that was a daughter to me in all but blood."

"Seth, I mean this in the nicest way possible. But lighten the hell up. You may have raised her but she isn't your daughter by blood. So what if she's attracted to you. You can either reciprocate her feelings or face it like a man and turn her down."

I looked at Freya, it was weird getting scolded by someone wearing Nicole's face. I stand up from the table and hand my empty plate to a servant.

"I'll go speak with her then."

She nods and returns to her cup of blood. I walk slowly, thinking of everything I'm going to say to Amelie. Knocking on her door I waited. I heard things move around before she answered.

"Can we talk?"

She turns back to her room before looking at me.

"My room is a bit of a mess, sorry."

"Look, this conversation is probably going to take a while. So you can let me in, or we can go back to my study."

"Fine," she sighed, opening the door wider. "Don't say I didn't warn you about the mess though."

Her room looked like a tornado had blown through. Books scattered across the floor. The curtains at the windows torn to shreds. Her mattress had several long slashes across it, and the frame was missing a post. I looked around and spotted what looked like drops of blood on her pillows.

"What happened in here?"

"I happened. Now what did you want to talk about?"

"Amelie, what happened between us it-"

"Look I get it okay, you see me as a little girl. A little girl that you raised, so say it nearly every day. I'm your daughter. So let's leave it at that."

"Am-"

"I-I felt all these years of emotion in my chest and I couldn't explain it until yesterday. I thought there was something wrong with me, I thought I was sick like Maman. But no, this stupid little girl was just in love with the one man she shouldn't be in love with."

Tears were building in her eyes, her shoulders shook. She fell back and sat on the corner of her bed silently crying and I thought of what to say to her.

"Amelie, I- I love you too but,"

"But you don't see me as anyth-"

"Shut up and let me finish," Shock crossed her face. "Look I'm sorry for yelling but you kept interrupting me."

She sat still, her eyes on me as I took a deep breath and began again.

"Amelie, I care about you deeply. I made a promise to Anais that I would always care for you and watch over you. Hearing you tell me that you love me as something more than your father breaks my heart. I feel as if I'm stealing you from a man who deserves you more." I raise a finger as she opens her mouth to interrupt again. "It will be a while before I stop seeing you as my daughter, so if you expect your feelings returned I ask that you be patient with me."

She looks at me processing my words, her mouth opens and closes several times before she blurs over to me and hugs onto me as hard as she could.

"Thank you papa, thank you."

"We can start by you not calling me that anymore."

She nods happily. "And don't thank me yet, I still don't know if I'm making the right choice."

She plants a quick kiss on my lips. "You are, I'll show you pa- Seth."

I sigh before excusing myself from her room, walking back to mine I found Freya sitting on the corner of my bed.

"So did you tell her?"

"I've told her," She beckons for me to continue. "I think she's going to be fine now."

"Good," Freya stands up and walks over to me. "I was worried that I'd have to fight her for your attention."

'Wait what the fuck?'

Freya leans in close and kisses me, she pulls away and winks before leaving my room.

'What the fuck just happened?'
