House Of The Dragon-For The Queen, Not The Prince

(Prequel To The Black Lord) [Takes place before/during/after the Dance of Dragons] Aerion Targaryen is the son of Daemon Targaryen and Rhea Royce. The Rogue Prince drunkenly forced the consummation of his marriage to the Lady Rhea and easily discarded her and his son after he was born. Aerion then grew up with an absent father, only rarely getting gifts from his Uncle, King Viserys. He took part in the Dance of The Dragons, supporting the only person he found worth fighting for.

"It is time!!!" The Announcer bellowed, "The Final Match!!"

In the stands where Rhaenyra sat, both Baela and Rhaena had worried looks on their faces.

"Father and Brother are going to fight?" Baela asked her grandmother, "What's going to happen?"

Rhaenys patted her shoulder, "Worry not." She said, "It's going to be okay?"

"I doubt that...." Jace muttered

"Why is that?" Rhaenys asked

"Aerion is mad." Jace said

Back to the arena, The Announcer gestured to his left and where Aerion was walking from, "The Crimson Dragon!!!" He bellowed, "Aerion Targaryen!!!"

Aerion walked up to the weapons rack and picked up his blunt bastard sword, twirling it as he walked through the gate. His face was obscured by his helm but beneath it, he had a serious look on his face as he entered the arena.

The Announcer gestured to his right, where Daemon was walking from, "And Now!! The Rogue Prince!!!" He bellowed, "Daemon Targaryen!!!"

The Crowd began to cheer loudly as Daemon walked up to the weapons rack, grabbing a blunt sword and a shield, something which surprised most of them.

He walked through the gate and raised his arms, taking in the cheers as he smirked, slowly spinning around.

"Yea!" He shouted as he stopped to face Aerion, "Heh..."

He saw that his son was merely standing there, menacingly.

The Announcer then began to walk away from the arena, "Let the Final Fight begin!!!" He bellowed, "Targaryen vs Targaryen!! Father vs Son!!!"

The crowd cheered loudly, deafening the fighters that were in the arena. In Viserys's stands, the King looked at this with a serious face.

"Hm...." He said as he leaned forward, "I hope I do not regret this...."

Otto looked at him, "I pray to the gods as well, Your Grace." He said

Back to the arena, Daemon began to circle around Aerion who merely stood there, his gaze slowly following his Father.

"Aren't you a scary one..." Daemon said with a slight smirk, "You've waited years for this, no? Here's your chance, boy. Prove you're a man."

Aerion didn't move or react, merely stood there as Daemon walked around him to his back, something that confused the crowd and even Rhaenyra.

"Why isn't he moving?" Rhaenyra said softly

As Daemon got behind Aerion, a couple of feet away, he merely smirked, "Amateur." He said as he lunged

He was about to swing his sword when in a swift motion, Aerion turned around, his sword already in motion. The Rogue Prince raised his shield instead for a block and felt the blunt sword shatter through the wood, nearly crashing him down to the ground.

He stumbled forwards and felt Aerion tackle him with his shoulder, sending him reeling several feet away as he dropped the broken shield.

As he composed himself, Aerion merely straightened up, raising his sword to a mid stance and not moved an inch. He was still in the same spot where he started, only turning in a full circle and taking a single step for the tackle, taking it back and resetting.

Viserys narrowed his eyes, realizing what Aerion was doing, "I-Is.....he...." he said

"He's not going to move, is he?" Otto asked

Viserys shook his head, "No." He said

Back to the Arena, Daemon scowled, "Is that how it is, Boy?" He asked as he spat on the ground, "You intend to humiliate me?"

Aerion didn't respond, merely looked at him.

Daemon charged forward, swinging his sword at him. Aerion parried the attack and instantly went for a riposte, which Daemon dodged and tried to counter but Aerion parried the counter as well.

Daemon took a step back and went for a thrust but Aerion caught the sword with his hand, pulling him towards him, and met Daemon with a boot to his chest, sending the Rogue Prince flying away. As Daemon hit the ground, he immediately rolled away and stood up, seeing that Aerion had not taken a single step.

He readied a stance and began to circle around him, completely flabbergasted by this sudden show of strength.

Aerion merely raised his sword in mid-stance and silently watched him, slowly turning to face him as he went around him.

Daemon lunged at him again, this time swinging low, only for Aerion to block the attack but Daemon swung his left fist at him, hitting Aerion in the helm. As the gauntlet made contact, Aerion pulled his sword away and pushed Daemon back and then immediately swung it at him.

Daemon dodged the attack but Aerion followed it up with a counter swing which almost hit the Rogue Prince if he didn't step even further back.

"You little!" Daemon said as he lunged yet again

Aerion blocked and parried all of Daemon's swings as he didn't move an inch, completely displaying his superior sword skill to the entire crowd there. The Prince-Consort merely showed the difference in their abilities by staying on the defensive as Daemon was constantly swinging and thrusting forward.

Aerion then parried Daemon's swing with his gauntlet, the valyrian steel causing the blunt iron sword to bounce off hard as Aerion thrust his sword at Daemon's breastplate, pushing him back and stumbling him.

"That's it, I have had it...." Daemon said as he rushed him yet again

Aerion knew what was coming and he swung at him, only for Daemon to slide below the swing and reach Aerion, reaching for his cloak behind him and pulling it over his helm from behind and pulled it down to blind him.

Jace got up from his seat, "Foul play!" he shouted

Rhaenyra grabbed his hand, "Calm down." She whispered, "Foul play doesn't matter to Aerion..."

As she said this, Daemon spun around and swung his sword upwards, hitting Aerion below the helm and with a resounding bang, the helm flew off his head as the cloak fluttered back.

The Crowd gasped as the helm slowly bounced on the ground Aerion still didn't move an inch, seemingly unfazed by the blow. All Daemon did was reveal his scowling face as his lip was bleeding a bit.

"Heh." Daemon said as he took a step back

Aerion lifted his left hand and gently wiped the blood from his lip, "Hm." He said as he licked his lip and spat on the ground, "All that for a drop of blood?"

Daemon readied a stance, "Is that a problem?" He asked with a chuckle

Aerion then took a step forward, "How about I return the Favor, Father." He said with a serious tone

"Oh, please do so." Daemon said tauntingly, "I've finally made you move."

Aerion rushed Daemon and swung his sword which Daemon was able to narrowly avoid as he stepped back. Aerion pulled his sword back as he closed in on the distance, swinging it yet again, this time Daemon blocked it but the force was able to push him back.

Daemon then composed himself and swung his sword at Aerion's face which was parried with ease as Aerion countered with a swing to his stomach, the blunt edge hitting Daemon hard as it pushed him to the ground.

Daemon, once again, rolled over and stood up immediately, only for Aerion to have already closed in.

Aerion swung his sword vertically down which Daemon blocked it but the impact was too hard that it pushed him down and caused him to drop the blunt blade, sitting him on his ass.

"Shit!" Daemon said as Aerion pointed his blade at him

"Yield." Aerion said, "I won't give you another chance."

Daemon scowled, "Do you seriously think I'm going to let you keep me from her?" He said low enough for only them to hear, "She's my granddaughter."

"She's my daughter." Aerion scowled back, "My daughter! Mine! Not yours!"

Daemon chuckled, "Yea, you've made that clear!" He said as he reached down to the ground, "But you won't win this, boy. Let this be a teaching moment for you."

"What would that be?" Aerion asked

"In the real world, anything is fair game in a fight to the death." Daemon said as he swung a fistful of dirt at Aerion's face

The dirt hit Aerion in the eyes, blinding him as he stumbled back, stunned by this.

"A-Aggh!" Aerion cried out as there were some pebbles in there as well [a/n: Ever get hit with pocket sand? It fucking hurts, no matter how tough you are]

Daemon reached for his sword and then stood up, reaching for Aerion's cloak and using the same method he just previously used, covering his entire face from behind.

"Hmph." Daemon said as he raised his sword

Rhaenyra stood up, "Daemon no!" She cried out with desperation in her voice

Daemon then swung his sword down hard,

"My Victory."
