Protection
Brent caresses her arms gently. "I did it on purpose, for your safety, sweetie. We don't know what tomorrow brings, it's all for your protection. Trust me, I only want what's best for you," he said, smiling adorably at her.
Irene giggled happily. "Thank you for sharing your power with me," she said gratefully.
Then all of a sudden, Brent's face turned serious. "But you must not abuse the power of the ring, because each time you use it, it will weaken me physically..." he warned her.
"Oh..." A surprised expression appeared on Irene's face. She didn't expect that the power that he extended on the ring to protect her could potentially harm him. "Then take the powers back! I don't want you to suffer because of it," she said worriedly.
Brent beamed, loving the way Irene expressed her concern over his well-being. "It's okay, as long as you don't use it frequently then I will be fine," he explained, trying to erase the worry from her face.
