"WAIT!" Shit. This was bad. Something was off, but I didn't know what. My gut told me to put the brakes on this whole mess, but my head wasn't letting me. I hadn't gotten where I was in business by thinking with my heart, and I wasn't about to start. Asher was right, though. People would be watching. This needed to seem real to the outside world. If it didn't, the entire thing would be for nothing. Shit, I hated being wrong.
Asher's brow rose in an answer to my outburst.

Well, this was awkward. How could I explain this in a way he understood, but where I didn't come off like a loser? I couldn't. No woman my age was still a virgin, at least it seemed, and it wasn't like I got out much. Dating for me consisted of board meetings with men twice my senior. The only boyfriend I'd had was the battery-operated kind. I was too busy running an empire to have time for men.
