CHAPTER 2 - THINK ABOUT IT

"Loria Winslow?" he asked. The look on his face showed that he had not come here to arrange a divorce, but something more important than that.

"Yes," Loria said with a friendly smile. Loria stood up from her seat and motioned for the man to sit down. "So why do you want to divorce your wife?" Loria asked matter-of-factly. Loria always never thought of anything else if someone directly came to her private study.

"Ah, no. It seems you misunderstood, it's not about divorce,"

"So?" Loria knit her brows together. She looked at the man intently.

Even Loria is a law abiding person. Loria was absolutely sure that she had not made a fatal mistake. However, a police officer came to her like this, without an appointment beforehand leaving Loria in awe.

"Loria Winslow, fiancé of Shane Howard?"

Hear that Loria just nodded her head.

"We have reports that Shane Howard disappeared this morning, and you are the only witness,"

It took Loria a few minutes to digest all the man's words. Disappear? What nonsense is he saying? Seriously! In fact this morning he and Shane just making love!

"Disappear?" Loria repeated the police officer's statement in a confused tone.

"You were with him last night, right?"

"Sure. In fact, until this morning I was still with him," said Loria. "Then what do you mean by disappearing?" Loria asked in confusion. Now his hands are busy contacting Shane via his cell phone.

"We need your help finding Shane," "Sure, anything." Loria said. "However, I need to know you came to see me just because Shane disappeared or is there something else you're hiding?" asked Loria doubtfully.

Loria knew full well that Shane was a good man and could not possibly commit a crime. However, this is very important to him. Remembering that there are so many bad people in the guise of good, who can hide their evil in front of their loved ones.

"No." The man said curtly. "So can we start now?" he asked then.

"Now? No warrant? Seriously."

"I brought that,"

"Good. Let's get started,"

The police officer starts questioning Loria about everything that has to do with Shane. From what time she last saw Shane, how was Shane's personality, and how intense was the communication between Loria and Shane.

Luckily Loria wasn't a stupid woman. She was able to catch what the intent and purpose of the police. Don't forget, she is a great lawyer. Loria could read a person's movements from the way they spoke.

"Call me if you still need help," said Loria after she finished answering all the questions from the officer. "And I'll try to find Shane too. Maybe he's somewhere to finish his job," Loria continued.

The police officer nodded and shook Loria's hand before he left Loria's private study.

Loria sat back down in her comfortable work chair. She kept in touch with Shane as best he could. No, Shane's cell phone can't be reached at all.

So many questions running through her mind right now. It's really sudden. Not even 1x24 hours Shane disappeared. But why were the police officers so busy looking for Shane? After all, Shane is a grown man who can't just disappear.

"What are you doing, Shane?" Loria whispered as she stared at the pre-wedding photo of herself and Shane standing firmly on his desk. Shane looks very happy to hug Loria with a warm smile. Likewise, she looks very beautiful in her white wedding dress.

Although she is very afraid of marriage and always postpones his wedding day with Shane. But, this time she felt really bad for Shane. Could it be that it was Shane's turn to run away from him? Disappear without a message because he don't want to marry her anymore?

Loria took her handbag and car keys. She had to find Shane to the places Shane used to visit.

BRAK!!

"Gosh, sorry I'm in a hurry. I'm sorry," said Loria as she helped clean up the scattered paper files on the floor.

"It's okay, I didn't see you. I was walking too fast," said the tall, Asian-European-faced man. Handsome and sexy too.

"Sorry," Loria said one more time and then left.

The man just stared at Loria's back which was now starting to disappear behind the elevator. He didn't have time to stop Loria from leaving because he was too surprised.

Now Loria was driving her car, ready to explore every place she was sure Shane would go.

"What? Substitute secretary?" asked Loria in surprise. She pulled the car over when she answered the incoming call from his personal secretary. "You never told me you were going on leave because you were getting married," Loria continued.

"Only for the next year, I've found it. I mean, my successor," said a female voice from the other end of the line.

"Bring him to me, I'll see and judge for myself." Loria said.

A little annoyed of course. But, he could not force or hold someone to continue to be by his side.

"He's been here, a man and I've known him for a long time."

"Jeez... how come you didn't confirm this to me earlier?! A man? My new secretary is a man?!" Loria raised her voice slightly. He stepped on the gas pedal and turned the car around. Return to Osborne Hall's office.

CHAOTIC! That was all Loria was feeling right now. His passionate morning just disappeared because it was spoiled by various surprising things from the people around him.

Dealing with the divorce of a wealthy couple who actually cheated on each other, but insisted that they wanted a divorce just because they didn't have a child. Shane's sudden disappearance. And, now the news of the resignation of her personal secretary.

Loria's panic over the disappearance of Shane, who is her fiancé, still hasn't been taken care of. And now he has to face something else? Oh, the world seems to be playing around right now.

"Where?" asked Loria quickly as she returned to Osborne.

"Waiting in your private officee,"

Loria stepped into her room. Again she was surprised for the umpteenth time. The handsome and sexy man who had just collided with her about 45 minutes ago turned out to be her new secretary candidate.

"You?" said Loria.

The man nodded his head. He reached out to shake Loria's hand.

"Eldrick Holmes,"

"Ah, all right. Loria Winslow," Loria said. "So..." Loria looked at Eldrick right into her eyes. "You are the new secretary who will replace my personal secretary?" asked Loria then.

Eldrick nodded his head. "My profession is a psychiatrist. However, since I work as a doctor only at night, I think I can work as a secretary from morning to evening," said Eldrick.

Loria raised her eyebrows high. A doctor who also wants to work as a secretary, is not unusual.

"I hope you can follow my way, and there's one thing you need to know that I..."

BRUK! Suddenly Loria fell unconscious.
