The Proposal

~Brief Recap~

Yesterday Natsu, Luna and their exceeds Happy and Elise infiltrated the Grand Magic Games in hopes of surprising Fairy Tail with their return. But Fairy Tail wasn't competing, they had been disbanded which they found out from Lucy after running into her at the Grand Magic Games. They caught up with each other and Lucy offered them to stay at her place for a while. They finished catching up with each other there and Natsu announced that he and Luna were officially dating now. When the day was over and everyone had gone to sleep, Natsu couldn't sleep and planned to pull a prank on Lucy while she slept. Upon entering her room, he noticed her devotion on keeping track of all their former guild mates. It was then he decided they were going to get Fairy Tail back together again. He wanted Luna's help announcing Fairy Tail's revival so the next morning, they left Lucy's place early to leave their message. Unfortunately, the authorities tracked them down and sent an army to Lucy's place which she wasn't too happy about. As the five of them were escaping the soldiers, Natsu explained to Lucy that he and Luna left a message in front of the castle made of fire and ice signaling Fairy Tail's return. They were going to gather everyone up and revive the guild.

~Time Skip~

Natsu, Luna, Happy, Elise and Lucy worked hard to find everyone in Fairy Tail again to bring them together again. After Fairy Tail disbanded, everyone had gone their separate ways. Wendy had joined Lamia Scale, Grey joined a dark guild undercover, Gajeel and Levy worked for the Magic Council as police and so on. It took a while, but eventually everyone was recovered and Fairy Tail was officially revived. After all their adventures gathering their guild mates, Natsu and Luna headed back to their cottage. But Natsu had something special planned for him and Luna tonight. He approached Luna who was relaxing in the hammock.

"Hey Crystal." Natsu said to get her attention. Luna looked up and immediately blushed. Natsu was all dressed up. He was wearing black dress pants and a plum purple dress shirt with a black suit vest over it. And of course he was wearing his signature scarf around his neck instead of a tie. He was stunningly handsome.

"N-Natsu? W-what's with the fancy outfit?" Luna stuttered, getting all flustered. Natsu chuckled at her reaction.

"Get changed into something nice and fancy. I have special plans for us tonight." Natsu said to Luna with a bright smile.

"I'll be waiting for you outside the cottage, 'kay?" Natsu said as he turned around and left, going out the front door. Luna went to her bedroom to her wardrobe and got out a sparkly dark blue open back slit dress. She changed out of her clothes and slipped the dress on then went to the bathroom to do her hair. She put up a small section of her hair in a side ponytail with a bow that matched her dress, kind of like how Lucy sometimes styled her hair. After all, Natsu did admit that he had romantic feelings for both her and Lucy. Though he harbored feelings for Luna long before he met Lucy, he started to develop feelings for the blonde too as he got to know her more. That made Luna a little insecure knowing that. So she thought that looking more like Lucy might make Natsu more attracted to her. Besides, she really liked that hairstyle of Lucy's. It was cute. Once she was ready, she met with Natsu outside the cottage.

"I'm ready Natsu." Luna said as Natsu turned to her and blushed when he saw her.

"Wow, you look amazing in that dress." Natsu said as Luna blushed in reaction to his compliment.

"And you look really handsome in that outfit." Luna complimented him back. Natsu smiled and called over Happy and Elise who grabbed their respective dragon slayers and took off towards Natsu's and Luna's date destination in Crocus. Unfortunately for Natsu and Luna, their exceeds didn't have enough energy to fly them all the way there so they had to take a train the rest of the journey. When they got off the train, Natsu and Luna were revitalized. Natsu then took Luna to a fancy restaurant with a large balcony overlooking the city.

"So Crystal, how do you like it?" Natsu asked as Luna gasped in awe.

"Oh Natsu, this is amazing! How did you afford to reserve a table here?" Luna said as Natsu grinned widely.

"Don't you remember? We told Hisui about how we dealt with Hell Spawn and foiled their plans. And she said she'd do us a favor to repay us. Well this is what I asked for. We can eat whatever we want here, no matter how expensive. It's all on the house thanks to Hisui. Besides it's perfect..." Natsu seemed to trail off at the end of his explanation.

"Perfect for what?" Luna asked as Natsu suddenly grabbed her and pull her close to him and started dancing with her.

"What's gotten into you Natsu?" Luna said with a laugh. But Natsu ignored her question and just stared into her light blue eyes with his onyx ones.

"I couldn't help but notice that you styled your hair like Lucy often does. What's with that?" Natsu countered with a question of his own.

"Well... you did say that you also had feelings for Lucy too. So I thought if I looked more like her, you'd be more attracted to me. I don't want you to regret choosing me as your mate." Luna said, averting her gaze to the side. Natsu sighed before turning Luna's face towards his and looked into Luna's eyes again.

"Luna... You don't have to look like Lucy to win my affections. I love you for you. I've loved you ever since I met you. I didn't know it was love at the time since we were really young, but I know now. While it's true I started to develop feelings for Lucy as I got to know her, my feelings for you have existed for much longer and run deeper than my feelings for Lucy ever did. I'm so glad I chose you as my mate." Natsu said as he lovingly pressed his forehead against Luna's for a brief moment before pulling away and kneeling down on one knee. He pulled out a little velvet box and opened it, revealing a silver ring with a light blue diamond in the shape of a curved teardrop. Luna cupped her mouth with her hands as tears of joy began to prick at her eyes.

"I want you to be my mate for the rest of my life. I want to be by your side, spend my future with you. So, Luna Crystelle, will you marry me?" Natsu popped the question.

"Yes! Of course I'll marry you Natsu!" Luna answered as the tears finally spilled from her eyes out of pure joy. She hugged Natsu and he pressed his lips to hers, kissing her passionately. Then he slid the ring onto her finger. Suddenly Natsu's stomach growled and Luna giggled.

"We should order something. Sounds like you're starving. I'm quite hungry myself." Luna said as Natsu nodded. They ordered their food and had a lovely romantic dinner... well as romantic as dinner could get with Natsu's horrendous table manners anyways. Happy and Elise ate at a different table to give them some space. It was their special night after all. After they had dessert, the four of them left the restaurant.

"Man I'm stuffed. I feel like I can barely walk, much less ride a train partway back." Luna said as she patted her stomach. Natsu put his hand over his mouth as the mere thought of riding a train activated his motion sickness.

"I think I'm gonna hurl." Natsu said.

"Snap out of it Natsu! We're on solid ground!" Luna said as she waved her hand and snapped her fingers in front of Natsu's face which surprisingly worked.

"Oh yeah! That reminds me. I figured that neither of us would want to head back right away after we just ate so I also had Hisui book us at a really nice hotel right here in Crocus as part of the favor." Natsu told Luna.

"Aww you're so thoughtful Natsu! Thank you!" Luna said as she hugged her pink-haired fiancé.

"I am? I mean, yeah of course I am! Anything for you." Natsu said as Luna chuckled. The four of them went to the hotel that Princess Hisui had reserved rooms. It was a really nice five star hotel. When they got there, Natsu and Luna got keys to one room and Happy and Elise got keys to a different room. Luna had a hunch as to why and the mere thought made her all flustered and heat pool in her core. Natsu could smell the pheromones of her arousal. When they unlocked their room, Natsu immediately shut and locked the door behind them and pinned Luna against it. He kissed her hungrily and passionately then lifted her up and brought her to the bed and placed her on it. He undressed himself then Luna as if in a hurry.

"I've been holding myself back ever since we left our home to infiltrate the Grand Magic Games. It's still mating season. I need you... now." Natsu said in a desperate tone.
