Lily and the Gears of a Clock

(Warning: Gore)

A girl played with her slinky toy in front of her house.  The slinky moved from top to the bottom of the small staircase away from the front door.  The girl laughed and played by herself, not caring about her surroundings.

But then the slinky toy moved away from the staircase, then it fell through the hole under the house.  When she followed the slinky, a light blinded her for a second.

She felt rather vertiginous for a moment; but then her vision returned back to normal.  She looked around, and she saw a butterfly with rainbow wings flying near hear head.

"Cute little butterfly!"  She exclaimed as she tried to catch it.  But when it flew above the apple tree, she suddenly remembered her slinky.

"Mummy!  My slinky!"  The girl shouted as she ran into her house.  She told her mother that her slinky has just fallen through a hole.

"Lily, mummy is busy.  I'll buy you new one tomorrow when we're going out to eat," her mum said as she continued the accounting homework.

"Okay!"

Lily walked to the front living room and then closed the door.  But then she saw the leaves moving as the wind blew. Feeling curious, she opened the door again and felt the wind blowing rather strongly.  She closed her eyes by reflex. "Woah..." she exhaled and felt the excitement again.

She followed where the leaves flew and ended up standing in front of an old-looking clock tower.

"Woah...  so big."

The wind made the back door of the tower squeak.  Out of curiosity again, she followed the sound. She opened the door; the door creaked also with the echoes inside.  She heard the ticking sound of the clock's mechanisms.

She walked on the creaky wooden floor, looking at the marvel of human engineering.  And then she saw a door with the text in red, "Do not enter without permission!"

"I wonder what's inside there..." she whispered as she stepped on a fragile wooden plank.  The floor broke as she fell through. She saw the mechanisms around her as she fell. After falling down for about 30 seconds, finally she landed on one of the giant gears.

"Kyaah!!"  She screamed in pain as her legs braced the impact of the fall.  She fell over with her legs bent the wrong way; her ankles are dislocated and there's blood spatters around & below her legs.  The extreme pain made her unable to move. She cried for help but there was only echoes & the sound of machinery around her.

The gigantic gear under her body suddenly moved.

"Eh?"  She looked at the metallic surface right below her.  The mechanism starts working as it brought her rotate above it.  She heard more metallic ticking behind her as it moves her backwards without her moving.  The sounds get louder gradually until she realised that there's a set of large gears coming closer to her.

"No... no!"  She tried to move away but her dysfunctional legs can't bring her faster than the gears rotating.  She tried to crawl faster, putting the effort to her arms to move away as she started to get exhausted.  She's trying to catch a breath until finally she got caught in the machinery.

The pain flowed through her mangled legs as the gears crushed her hips.  She screamed for help but the echoes didn't reach anybody except the system inside the clock.  The gears mercilessly mashed her spine, her stomach, and her chest every second. The blood vessels exploded, covering the metal grinder with dark red.  The gurgling sound of blood from her lungs trying to call for help but it was futile. Every bone inside her body crunched, mashed into a lump of gore. The whole experience lasted as if it was one hour for her until her neck and head are crushed.

A moment later, a blinding light appeared.  Lily saw the butterfly with rainbow wings flying away from her.  In her hands, there is the slinky toy. She looked at it and suddenly got the horrible flashback inside her head.  She threw the slinky on the ground and ran to her mother inside the house.

"Mum...  I'm scared..."  she said in sad voice as she hugged her mother.

"Awh..."  her mother stopped working on the homework as she held Lily close to her, patting her back gently to comfort her.  Lily cried for several minutes. After feeling a bit happier, she said in sad voice, "I want to draw."

Her mother kissed Lily's cheek as Lily went back to her bedroom, and then she took her drawing book and started drawing with her crayons.

At night, Lily's mother checked her bedroom and she found her daughter's drawings depicting the story when she got that terrifying experience.  She gasped and shook her head gently as she looked through the pages of the drawings. She never thought that her daughter got that experience as if it was unreal.  She glanced at her daughter and thought, "Should I take her to a therapist?"

Several minutes later, the old tower dinged twelve times.
