Intruder

The night was still young, the two officier's silence on the radio would soon be noticed but The Slasher Of Olive Grove didn't care, walking through the darkness toward a sliver of light, he almost pressed his face against the glass as he peered inside.

Olivia Bennett was carefreely sitting on the living room's couch, all by herself, tapping away on her phone and ignoring whatever was happening on the show playing on TV.

Than's warm breath left steam stuck to the window for a few moments, easily getting through the cheap mask on his face, it was soon gone alongside himself as Olivia turned her head toward the window, having looked in this direction without knowing why.

She didn't think much of it at all and instead resumed sending texts to John, her boyfriend, trying to get him to come over to her house, since her parents weren't home.

She hadn't been very shocked by what had happened this afternoon, she hadn't seen any of it after all and it never crossed her mind that the murderer would somehow go to her house specifically.

Convincing her boyfriend to get over there wasn't a difficult task, if a task at all.

𝘛𝘩𝘶𝘥!

The loud sound made her jump and slid to ground, as if she was a startled cat.

Something seemed to have just crashed against the backdoor, she got up on the couch, standing on her knees as she leaned as much as she could to get a view of the backdoor.

It was a flimsy little wooden door that was of a color that didn't fit with the room it was situated in, the kitchen.

The door was still closed and even from where she was, she could see that it was properly locked, with a big, cumbersome locked her father had put there after the original one had been broken.

Not noticing anything weird, she chalked it up to some animal just hitting the door, the dog she had when she was younger would bump into doors pretty strongly and make a similar noise, that seemed to be the most logical explanation.

𝘛𝘩𝘶𝘥!

This time however, she was on full paranoia mode, once was fine, twice it was worrying, a third time and she would call the police even if in the end, it was just some weird noises in the night, everyone always ignored those when they lied in bed, hiding under their covers rather than doing anything else.

She turned off the TV and back off from the couch, putting her back against a wall far away from any window, trying to listen attentively to any sounds outside.

This intense focus caused her to almost have a heart attack when someone knocked on the front door.

"Olivia, I'm here!" John said from behind the door, making her sigh in relief as she went to open the door.

"I swear to god John, you didn't have to mess around like that" she said as he walked inside, tilting his head a little bit as she closed the door and locked it behind him.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Was that not you banging in the back door?" she said, laughing a bit as she genuinely thought he was just messing with her.

𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬!

The thunderous noise caught both of them by surprise, rendering them temporarily silent and still until John spoke.

"Holy Jesus, what the hell was that?!" he spoke, stepping further into the house with Olivia following closely.

Once again, she found herself staring in the direction of the back door, but it was pretty much gone now, the door hadn't been opened, the lock was still in the same exact spot but the door had simply been shattered, the two sides were still stuck to the wall, only the middle part had been converted to splinters.

Not quite getting what could have happened for the door to end up in such a sorry shape in so little time, she scanned the kitchen with wide opened eyes, barely blinking up until she noticed another discrepancy.

"John!" she said in a low tone, lightly slapping his shoulder as she pointed to the knife holder.

One of the kitchen knives was gone.

"Someone his in there!" she remarked, immediately going to dial the police when someone suddenly appeared in the doorway linking the entrance to the living room.

A huge guy in a mask, holding the missing knife, his simple presence made both of the young people there activate their fight or flight response instantly.

Than, seeing the girl about to leave, walked forward, he was walking but it was by no means a slow movement, he was right upon them mere moments upon beginning to move.

He raised the knife and slashed at the closest target, John backed off awkwardly, narrowly evading the blow as Olivia simply booked it for the back door, her absurdly long hair were grasped.

Than prepared to swiftly stab her through the skull but her boyfriend, tackled into him and grabbed his arm to make him let go, The Slasher simply looked at him silently, letting him do his best to free his girlfriend but failing to budge even a slight bit his arm.

John, noticing that he definitely wasn't going to accomplish anything this way, instead went for Olivia's hair, ripping the part caught in the killer's hand.

Olivia ran further away and when John attempted to follow her, the collar of his clothing was grabbed, feeling the hair still in Than hand before he was thrown across the room as if he weighed nothing.

Slamming right into the TV, Than walked up to him and stabbed his knife through his foot before pulling him out of the unfavorable position he had gotten himself in, watching him struggle to move at all as he had left the knife into his foot.

John did his best to make some distance in between them but his limping wasn't getting him anywhere far enough even if Wilkerson stood there for a whole minute.

The Slasher kicked him to the ground, stomping on his nape and with single twist, breaking his neck.

John didn't even have time to try and beg for mercy, Than retrieved the knife and simply walked out of the house, Olivia was already far now, Than simply walked up to the nearest house instead of trying to follow her.
