Reserves

In the morning the camp broke and the villengers of charge gathered, Grugus, Sandra and Arslan were informed about the situation they were in. The Chag villengers like the rest of the warriors would be in reserve until they are needed in the battle , they were not to happy for they were eager to get into the fray.

The march to the north started as they were finished on being instructed , it was a short march and soon an open view of the battlefield appeared. There were rolling hills to the left a forest to right and an open field in the center, soon they heard drum beats over the horizon.

The orc moved in like wave of locusts , war banners could be seen flying everywhere directing which clan they belong to. The army could see the huge bodies of the orca even from far away and this made some of the warriors shiver.

Arslan looked at the recruits behind him and gave a motivational speech.

"Muster your courage , for today you shall need it"

Then he started banging his shield and it spread to the rest of the warriors then the army , pretty soon the army as they banged their shield started lining up in battle formation. The regular soldiers first then to the rear are the levies, they could not match the 10,000 orc in the battle line so some of the levies were called in to reinforce the line but Arslan and the rest were not called to do that.

"Princess Caska we are ready!" General Argum saluted her.

"What is the status of the army?" She looked around the field atop her horse.

"To the left we upon the rolling hills we have your brother with 2,000 soldiers and reinforced by 2,000 levies , to the right by the forest we also have 2,000 soldiers also reinforced by 2,000levies and to the center we have 4,000 people and we have 5,000 levies in reserve to fill in the gaps when we need to". The general confidently gave his report.

"General Argum , give the order!" She looked over the horizon over the looming battle.

Soon horns were blown and the battle flags waved.

"Forward!"

The yell was carried along the wind and the columns of soldiers and warriors started rolling forward, soon the orcs started to blow their horn also and they started forward.

Many people died in the initial clash as both armies closed in , you can hear the splintering of spears the breaking of shields the hammering of weapons and the curses of orc and humans alike. For a minute you can see the pulsating lines in the distance before it stabilize along the front, the battle started to rage on all fronts now as both sides from the rolling gills and the forest met.

Not long after the lines started to stabilize you can see orc reserves in the distance plunge into commanders Beatrice side and tas the center of the army started to waver.

"Princess!" The general solely looked at the center and the right flank.

"Fill the gaps! Send in the Levies!" she hastily commanded.

"Commander Beatrice we need reinforcements!" a captain yelled out.

In the front line you can see the massive weapons the orcs were using to pulverized the line, the orcs were using two handed swords and axes and those that don't were carrying heavy shields the blocked their whole bodies from harm.For every 1 orc they were killing they were losing 5 , the situation looked grim for them.

"Send a messenger! , we need reinforcements!" She yelled out.

Arggg, Bastard!

No please no not like this....

The situation started to look grim as their linea started thinning out , as she looled around ahe could see that the levies that were supportingbher were dying like glies and in the distance he saw a massive orc carrying a battle flag behind him and a giant maul smashed three people with a swing.

"What a monster!" beatrice looked at the hulking mass that was infront of her.

"Come with me! " ahe yelled out to her guards and started moving to the front.

She charge the orc with her blade but the orc was immensely fast for a person that size , she lunge again and again to no avail and suddenly her line started moving back.

" Commander that brute is a monster! her captain yelled out and in yhe corner of her eye another one appeared.

Boom!

No! not like this!

Another massive orc appeared and a hole started to appear in the otherside of the line, she was already having problems with 1 orc now there was two.

"Humans weak!" the orc she was fighting spoke in human.

"Challenge" The orc pointed his maul toward her.

"Arslan what is happening?" Veronica looked at him for reassurance.

"They may need us soon, the center and the right flank are wavering, are you ready? He looked back at her and she nodded her head.

"I will keep you all safe , remember you training!" He looked backed and yelled at the recruits and with a cheer they mustered up their courage.

As for Arslan prediction in suddenly came true as a rider approached them yelling out orders, They are to reinforce the right flank and aid commander Caska. With a group of warriors Grugus and Sandra went into the front of the ranks with the veteran and to rear were with the recruits and Arslan.

As they made their way into the forest more and more warriors started appearing behind them following them in to the battlefield. In the distance you can hear the yelling both curses and pleading as they saw strewn around the were dead or dying people , as they walked further many of the recruits started puking at the sight as they know their turn will come soon.

"Shield wall! , forward!" Grugus yelled out the command.

Sandra started chanting a battle hymn and everyone joined in, as they chanted the battle hymn they finally made it to the front.

"Charge!"

"Stay together now!"

They crashed into the fray , the charge was stopped momentarily by their impact in the orcs lines and soon their battle began.The front of the line were thinning out so the Chag villengers had to spread out , soon the recruits were also thrown into the fray.
