Chapter 49: Sun

Sun was busy with injuries for the first few hours. She was grateful she took the time when she restocked the shelves during the loading of supplies to at least give the infirmary a cursory cleaning. Bronwyn was her most serious patient and, after rousing the girl from her unconscious state to make sure she was all right, Sun had Quinn lay her out on one of the beds and left her to rest.

Most of the others were fine, cuts and bruises the most common, although Manuel had a burn on his right hand from putting out the fire on the bridge. The only member who seemed to have escaped real injury was Sammel. Even his head wound from the fight over the alien seemed to be nothing of much note.

"Lucky you," she smiled at him, trying not to think about her own headache and painful neck strain from the lash of the explosive wave.

Sammel just shrugged and smiled back.
