Teacher vs Students (part 3)

Hirowa smiled to himself as he walked towards Hirime's station.

As he entered, she asked, " what's so amusing? Look at the state of your face"

Hirime's ground zero office was a medium sized room with little medical equipment and a hospital bed. There were also several chairs spread around the room and a large mirror on the wall opposite the bed so the patients could see themselves.

He ran his hand through his hair and sat on a leather reclining chair before replying.

"I should've...or rather, I lost that fight"

"how? You won because of the distance rule "

She placed her hand on his face and began healing

Nasally, he spoke again, "No, way before that. When Rando punched through my defence, and did this to my face. He realised at the last minute how powerful the punch was going to be and partially withdrew his fist. To think it still did this much damage "

"So if he hadn't pulled his punch you might have been in critical condition?"

"Potentially" he said, still smiling wildly

"So knowing all that, why did you still pull that drastic move to win?"

"If I were a member of the order of blight, and he pulled his punch that way, it may lead to something worse than losing a competition"

There was silence in the room after that except the cracking sounds of Hirowa's nose being reconstructed.

GROUP C

The frost zone was a vast land covered in artificial ice and snow. Although artifical, it looked and felt real. The snow reaching their ankles with every step they took. Everything around them was covered in snow, the rocks, the trees, there was even a frozen lake.

The temperature in the zone was 2 °C so the students wanted to wrap it up quickly if possible.

Sando, who hated the cold the most stretched and hopped on his toes as he prepared to battle his teacher who had not yet revealed themselves.

"Who is going to hold onto the crystal?" Aibuto asked.

"not me" Sando responded immediately

Dota shook his head, "I think Shihata should hold it, you can see our opponents attacks before they happen. Naturally, you should be the one holding onto the crystal"

The rest of the group, including Shihata agreed with this strategy.

"Aibuto and I will be on the frontline" Sando instructed, "Dota you stay back and cover our backs with your air thing, but don't stray too far from Shihata, so she touches you every few seconds and uses her foresight"

Dota chuckled, "for a meathead, you really do think things through"

"Who are you calling a meathead?" Sando responded, visibly annoyed.

As Dota shook his head again, their teacher slowly walked towards them.

"Hope you're all well prepared" Yahara Saramao said to his students.

"Dr Yahara?" Dota said, surprised as he didn't think Yahara would be an option

Yahara stood with his hands crossed behind his back, boldly facing his students.

"You have 4 minutes, hit me with everything you have. After those 4 minutes are over, I will begin my attack"

"hey, don't you think you're underestimating us a bit?" Sando said, with a smirk across his face.

Yahara laughed, "prove me wrong, Sando Kyojiro"

Sando took a deep breath before creating a large fireball in his hand, and hurling it at Yahara with maximum force.

"Not good enough" Yahara said, as he swatted the fireball, causing it to scatter in several directions, much to the students surprise.

This time, Sando created a much larger fireball but Yahara punched it, causing it to disperse in multiple directions again.

[How is he doing this?] Sando said, as he got frustrated.

Meanwhile, Aibuto reached into his pocket, and turned his skin into the metallic property of the screw he was holding before charging at his teacher.

[Correct approach] Yahara thought, still not moving an inch.

Aibuto threw a punch aimed at Yahara's head but, a few centimetres before his fist connected, his hand suddenly bounced back, as if it had hit a barrier.

"Not good enough" Yahara said once more

Sando charged in with a flying kick, his leading leg covered in flames.

His foot made it a few centimetres more than Aibuto's fist, but he too was repelled.

[What's going on?] Dota asked himself as his classmates continued to attack Yahara in vain [How is he doing this? Perhaps a barrier? No but if it was a barrier, both Aibuto and Sando would've stopped in the same place. I can't understand his ability]

Sando, who was now breathing heavily decided to try something new. He took a few steps back and released a continuous stream of flames from his palm, as if his arm was the barrel of a flamethrower.

The flame stopped in front of Yahara's face as usual, causing him to smile. It also acted as a veil of sorts as he did not see Aibuto move to his left side.

Aibuto threw a hook punch aimed at Yahara's jaw, but there was no "barrier" this time, meaning Yahara had to lean backwards to avoid the punch.

As the flames stopped, he staggered backwards, his hands still behind his back

"Well, well" he said, slightly impressed.

"I told you not to underestimate us" Sando said, grinning

Yahara dodging Aibuto's attack instantly made Dota realise something about Yahara's ability, and he acted accordingly.

He raised his hand and focused.

[Finally, you make a move Dota Amaku] Yahara thought, right before a gust of wind slammed into his back, sending him flying forwards.

Sando and Aibuto capitised instantly.

Sando released another heavy stream of fire into his airborne teacher who crossed his arms, creating a "barrier" so the flames did not touch him.

Although this worked, Aibuto moved to the side once more, and sunk his fist into his teachers ribs, causing them to crack, and sending Yahara flying into a "snow" covered rock.

Sando and Aibuto bumped fists, feeling accomplished after knocking their teaching down.

Before he got to his feet, Shihata said to Dota, "Dota, just now, right before you hit him with that gust of wind, he seemed to brace himself. So, I think you should stay hidden so he doesn't know when you're going to attack"

"That's a good idea, Shihata. Thank you" he said, before leaping several metres to top of a tree.

He adjusted himself to blend in just as Yahara stood up and dusted himself off, ignoring the pain in his side.

"ready for more, old man?" Sando asked, while Aibuto laughed.

Yahara smiled, "over confidence tends to lead to ones downfall boys. Don't get cocky"

[where did Dota run off to] he thought, while the two boys charged at him once more. He also noticed Shihata was sitting on the floor with the crystal in her lap. She was staring intently at him.

All of a sudden, the air beneath Yahara's feet began to move and he was lifted off the floor just as Aibuto threw another devastating punch Yahara crossed his arms once more, stopping the punch from connecting but Sando was already directly above him with a very evil grin on his face.

"Block this" he said, before planting both feet on Yahara's crossed arms and shooting out a colossal burst of flames which was powerful enough to knock Yahara into the ground.

Sando propelled backwards, doing a flip before landing next to Aibuto.

Even though his feet did not come in direct contact with Yahara's arms, he knew the flames must have done some damage.

When Yahara stood up again, his sweatshirt had burnt off and the students realised that even though he was getting old, Yahara was still in really good shape. His muscles and physique were so defined that it was intimidating.

"10 seconds left, young ones. What are you going to do?" Yahara said, still smiling softly with his arms folded behind his back.

"Sando, what do we do?" Aibuto asked, "our attacks are clearly not effective anymore"

As the boys got into defensive positions, a massive gust of wind sent Yahara flying about 30 metres backwards, into a tree which broke upon impact.

Dota gracefully jumped down from the tree afterwards.

"I think we need to regroup, it's time to start thinking defensively. Our attacks don't seem to be doing anything serious to him. Since we only need to hold him for one minute, Sando and I can create walls of fire and air to stop..."

As he relayed his plan to the team, Shihata walked up to him and tapped his shoulder, her eyes glowing purple as her ability activated.

[Crap] she thought, immediately afterwards before attempting to warn her teammate about something.

"Sando behi-" She didn't get to finish before Yahara's palm was smashed into Sando's back, sending flying at an alarming speed towards Dota's direction.

He greatly increased the air resistance acting on Sando, gradually slowing him down so he didn't crash into a tree or a rock.

Meanwhile, Shihata was able to issue a warning to Aibuto, telling him to "dodge left"

He obeyed just as Yahara's palm went past him, a visible shockwave leaving said palm as he missed his strike.

He immediately dashed towards Aibuto, who was trying to retreat but right before his palm connected a gentle wind carried Aibuto towards the rest of the group.

Dota erected a barrier of strong winds in front of his group which would send Yahara flying in the wrong directions should he enter.

"Shihata, what comes next?" Aibuto asked, as the students realised why they were given a four minute head start.

The second Shihata stretched her hand to touch Dota, who was the closest person to her, Yahara shot himself forward with great speed, leaving shockwaves behind himself as he propelled himself ahead.

Yahara moved in a zig-zag motion through the air as if the wind barrier wasn't there.

The students were bewildered. The common thought the four of them shared at that moment was, [is he jumping on Air?]

Yahara went after Shihata first, as he believed she was the most annoying. His palm smacked the top of her chest and she crashed into a tree, dropping the crystal on the ground.

Aibuto anticipated where Yahara was going to land, dashed and threw a punch but his teacher changed directions at the last second, moving behind him and smacking him hard into the ground.

Sando was next. As soon as Yahara's feet touched the floor, he shot himself towards the already winded Sando and sunk his palm into his stomach, sending him flying aswell.

While all this was happening, Dota was gathering air around him swirling it and turning it into fast moving winds, eventually creating a whirlwind that was 5 times his size.

As soon as Yahara turned to face him, he sent the whirlwind in his direction.

Yahara smiled, and smacked the whirlwind in the opposite direction of rotation, which caused the winds to stop and the chunks of rock and snow that was trapped in the wind to fall to the floor all around him.

[He cancelled out wind? What sort of invincible ability does he have?] Dota thought, before his thought process was interrupted by Yahara's palm smashing into his chest.

All four students were on the floor trying to get their breathing in order while Yahara simply walked towards the crystal and stamped on it, smashing it and ending the competition with 25 seconds left to spare.

"The crystal has been destroyed. Winner : Dr Yahara Saramao"

After the announcement, Yahara sat on the snowy floor and crossed his legs as if meditating. He was waiting for his students to gather themselves.

About 40 seconds later, they manage to get up and walk towards him. The four of them Shivering.

Sando created a giant ball of fire to keep everyone partially warm as Yahara began speaking.

"I'm sure the four of you are wondering, so I'll now explain what my ability is"
