Chapter 18: The accident

(Bailey's point of view) I knew that my daughter was lying about something. Simon is staying at the house for no one knows for how long. Hope found the portal shard and I needed to know why we needed it. I fell asleep downstairs and dreamed. I saw this circle door in the woods. It was beautiful and the door had vines. I got up and fixed breakfast and called out for dinner. Hope rushed downstairs before Simon and shut the curtains. Simon came down and ate with us again.

I didn't know what to do with everything that's happening. All I know is that I have a mission to complete. I got up and Andrew came over by me and kissed me while I was doing dishes. When I was done, I went out from the walls to find this door. I was gone for hours and didn't find anything. I came back and had to find out what was going on. I took Hope into my room and asked her what was going on.

She explained that there were werewolves, vampires, and warlocks. The vampires kidnapped Simon. Luke was a werewolf, Landon was a warlock, and Simon is now a vampire. They went to rescue Simon and Camille killed Simon and Raphael helped them out. I didn't know what was going on. All the stories are true. "It was all an accident." Hope explained. I looked at her and brought her into a hug.

This was all an accident and maybe these people we knew could help us what was going on. Hope went back to Simon, and I knew what I had to do. I slept for a month or so and then did nothing after that. I didn't know what to do at this point. Hope was with Simon helping him, Andrew was always gone, and Zach was helping with watching over the town. I had no mission and was bored. The whole house was tinted and dark because of Simon. I loved him. He was like another son to me.

I helped with regular stuff like doing laundry, cooking, and gardening. "I have no mission anymore." I whispered. I saw Hope in front of me and she came and hugged me. I hugged her and then went to the flower that helps the twins. I sat down by it and touched a petal. I could feel the power from it and so I started drawing the flower with energy when I touched it. I thought for a second that the white daffodil and the portal shard has to be connected. I didn't know how but I could feel something bad about it all.

I didn't want to do anything with it, but I had to do something. The accident that happened with Simon had to be for a reason. There was something off about it. I told Andrew everything and told him to be careful. Luke was my best friend, and he would listen to everything. I went over next door and told him everything. He wasn't in shock in fact he knew about it all. I left his house relieved he knew, and I got it all out.

(Hope's point of view) A month ago the day Simon first stayed with me. I knew it was about nighttime so I laid down in bed and Zach was already sleeping. Simon came and laid down beside me. He was different and it was a good difference. When the accident happened, I was scared and devastated. I missed the old him before and then I realized he was still himself. I turned on my side toward him and that closed the space between us. He was on the right side of the bed and his right hand under his head. His left hand by his side. I turned on my back and put my hand down by my side and touched Simon's hand. He looked at me and I was breathing rapidly. I needed to slow my breathing.

I knew I felt different about him, but it was different not like my brother. I always thought of him as my brother that I loved. I knew the accident changed him, but I didn't think so. His brown eyes were dreamy, and I felt his hand move and grabbed my hand. I let him and I turned to my side, and he just laid there, and we both fell asleep. I woke up on his chest and my hand on his stomach and the other hand on his stomach.

I felt his hand draped around my waist and I couldn't help but to look up at him. He was already looking down at me and I leaned up. I went to the bathroom to put on my outfit and put my hair up. It was another training day and a blood run. I brought my black backpack for the blood for Simon. He kissed me on the cheek goodbye, and I left. I went to the training ground, and we didn't leave. We had more blade training and the couch paired me with Jace. I looked at his amber golden eyes and went to stand by him.

I felt a song when we were battling it was called Love to hate it by Off Bloom. My blade flew behind me and I went to get it. Jace did a backflip towards me, and I stood up quickly. We were face to face inches off and my heart was racing. We locked our eyes and then training ended. I stepped back and walked towards the gate with my bag. I looked back smirking at him.

I stopped at the abandoned house where Simon was dead. Raphael came and put some blood bags in my bag and then I went back to my house and into my room. Simon was still sitting on the bed. I closed and locked the door behind me and walked over to him. I sat my bag on the bed and pulled out the two blood bags and gave him the straw. When he was done, I put the empty bags back in my bag. Simon and I sat against the headboard. We looked at each other and moved my hand towards his lips. I wiped the blood from his bottom lip with my thumb. Our eyes still locked, and I got up and went to the door. I unlocked it and went back to sit down on the bed.

I waited and Zach never came home. I wondered if he was staying at his friend's house tonight. I took my hair down and got under the covers. I never thought I would love my best friend. I wonder if he wanted to kiss me. I looked over at Simon and he was breathing slowly. His eyes were closed, and I moved closer to him for warmth. He opened his eyes and scooted me closer to him. My heart started racing and then I laid my head on his chest.

He moved his hand behind me and moved my hair around my shoulder. I looked up at him and he leaned in and kissed me directly on the lips. Then he laid his head on my head. My best friend just kissed me, and I didn't know how to react. I shut my eyes and tried to get some sleep. I was dreaming and all of a sudden, I yelled, "Simon don't leave! Simon!" I was woken up by Simon shaking my shoulders. I leaned up quickly and saw him. I hugged him, trembling.

"It's just a dream I promise." Simon explained to me. When we stopped hugging, I kissed him passionately not even thinking. When we stopped, he stared at me surprised. I smiled and he kissed me back. He wrapped his hands around my waist and my hands found his shoulders then his hair. We heard a knock on the door, and we quickly stopped and looked at each other. Jace walked in and then shut the door behind him. He sat down and we talked about the walker hoard coming this way. It could break down the wall on the north side which is on our side. It was behind our house, and we needed to be prepared.
